9:26 Once you start getting loot crates, you'll get more pure daisies anyway. Also, hopperhocks, endoflames, (rarely) manastars, floral fertilizer, overgrowth seeds, mana pools, and manasteel, mana blasters, mana bottles, and phantom ink.
i just started to use botania and I was a little overwhelmed for all the stuff it has, but you give me some ideas for the mana generation and stuff, thank you!
Botania can be quite complicated, but I do enjoy it. Sadly with many packs it mostly just make the magnet ring, make a tool, and make terrasteel for some other device/quest. A few years back I dedicated a series where I focused on Botania. th-cam.com/play/PL1-kr8xDK7cvNSf_Wf2xCUSjEIPRdJ0RT.html
22:41 here we have a classic example of the dangers, of getting sidetracked xD "oh, speaking of picks...". Enchanting, cut to tall flower problem, pool setup already done xD
Aeternalis Fuel Block, heard it burns for days by block, and its simple to get, after you get to ProjectE Energy Collector (put coal in, wait, get around the same per coal as blocks)
Botania caps the amount of burn time on the super long fuels. It's a good one, but worth testing in a creative single player world to see just how long it burns in that pack.
I see you still answer the comments so I'll try asking. I've rrached the point where I'd like to make Dark Matter tools, which require silverfish hearts, which require a Terrasteel block. I've setup several (64+) elven mana spreaders with potency lenses and flowers that eat cakes, all the mana is always full in the spreader but the pool itself charges reeeeally slowly. Now, to make a terrasteel ingot I need half mana pool, to make a block, I'd need 9 of those and add to that that I need 22 blocks for the crafting of all Dark Matter tools and armor. Is there a faster way to make mana? We're 3 friends playing so I'd need 66 terrasteel blocks which sounds atrocious. Thanks in advance and sorry for the wall of text
Most likely, there is a distance between the mana spreaders and the pools they are shooting the mana to. That distance adds time to the mana transfer. In my setup, I have the spreader right next to the pool, and I use sparks to transfer the mana into other pools for storage. That's very fast. You can use the cake-eating flowers instead of endoflames in my example. I will set them up when Astral Sorcery is in the pack since it can transmute pumpkins into cakes quickly.
It's a really nice setup. I like Botania but I really wish it'd gone through an actual update like many other mods have; it's basically the same now as it was in 1.7.10 (besides some QoL changes). Love the disclaimers, I feel they were added for me. 😅
Agreed. All these other mods have had major version changes, and Botania is... the same as it was in 1.7.10. Thermal is almost an entirely different mod compared to then.
Always love your videos. From what i read in the Botania book blocks of coal are now less efficient on the Endoflames. Not sure if it is important for you or if I even understood it correct.
I didn't add that. It's just a 3x3 of mana pools 3 blocks below the surface. I have a full video on my one chunk Botania setup: th-cam.com/video/oJLd3zrvyRs/w-d-xo.html
@@GrokDuckFarmer I had 32 Endoflames on the go. Dropping a single coal every second couldn't keep up. Dropping a single alchemical coal every two seconds worked perfectly.
just started this it has taken me longer than i could ever get to get one of these things currently waiting on it to finish crafting while im typing this lol
Make sure there is mana going to the altar. You should see a small image of the item that will be made slowly getting filled with mana as the process goes.
@@GrokDuckFarmer That was it. Thanks. I appreciate your videos. I've never played Minecraft with any mods before so this has been pretty overwhelming, and your videos are an oasis in a desert :)

Botania is lots of fun, but it's not changed much (other than looks) for a while now. I did a series where I focused on Botania as the main mod with a tiny bit of tech added in.

Yep. That's modpack specific, but very nice when they happen.
I did not understand A LOT about botania and this help me get the beginning a bit better thank you so much!!!
I find that to be a pretty good setup for Botania. Enjoy!
I did not know how powerful the enchanting was until you showed me! Everyone should do Botania for that, plus the magnet ring! hehe 🙌🙌
The magnet ring is such a good thing to have. I really miss it when I'm playing Vanilla.

thank you so much. I had all the items but was so confused how to make the mana, didn't know the endoflames needed fuel
They are also great for taking care of excess saplings or wooden things you made too many of.

I'll have to read the book again. It should be worth at least 9x a single piece of coal, but often the block is 10x making it a bit more effective.
Did I miss the Emerald "room" with the mana pools and the altar build out? I keep going back to try to watch it but I don't see it?

Once you get into ProjectE, there are coals and fuels that have really long burns times. I like using alchemical coal with lots of the Endoflames.
I'll have to experiment. I believe that the endoflames cut off at some point, but it's well worth testing to see.

Great video again 💜
Thanks!
it's 20 minute on botania, yet it took me the same amount of time to make terrasteel T-T
I'm surprised that this pack wants manasteel singularities and not terrasteel ones.

Very interesting guude but wondering what version of botania it is
This was an 1.18.2 modpack. There are newer versions of Botania, but this will work for all of them.
I can't do anything with the runic altar once I place the items. They spin around but I can't interact with the altar using Livingrock. Help!

amazing video, ty
Glad you enjoyed it!
Can anyone help me? My mana spreader refuses to give mana to the altar
Has it been directed to the altar with the wand? Is it next to a pool that has mana? Is there something on the altar that needs mana?
@@GrokDuckFarmer I figured it out, I was using a wrong block for a rune, but thanks for the reply
@@ki-gar Glad to hear you figured it out! Happy enchanting!
resource pack???
I use the 32 bit Faithful pack to make things look a little nicer but still keep the look of Minecraft.
What are the green blocks that let you travel under called, please?
Those are elevators that come in the 16 Minecraft colors. You can hit them with a block to change the appearance. I like doing that.
If you don't have elevators in your pack, you can do the same thing with two ladders and a trap door. Just isn't as fast.
@@GrokDuckFarmer thank you!
most of the stuff doesnt work anymore :(
How so? I did this recently in a 1.20 pack with no issues. What is not working for you?
How did you get the ender air bottles?
Those were random rewards from quests and/or loot chests.

You can get the 16 colors of the Mystical flowers by making floral fertilizer and using that on grass.

Do you need the Tall FLowers? Or are they just there because you love them? EDIT: All good. I understand the Tall flowers now Thanks @Grok DuckFarmer
