I bought one that was refurbished by an eBay seller in the Ukraine. I like it. It takes good pictures if you get the focus right and remember the Sunny 16 rule.
Hi Alex, thanks again for making the short video you have explained alot about the camera and I'm sure that lots of people will also find this video incredible useful!
Dear Alex, I am planning to buy a Chaika. In your opinion, which one out of the three models is suitable for street and landscape photography? Дорогой Алекс, я планирую купить Чайку. На ваш взгляд, какая из трех моделей подходит для уличной и пейзажной съемки?
@@AlexSavin Hi Alex, to my surprise the lens is removable :) Do you think this lens can be adapted to a mirroless digital camera? My guess this is M39 thread, but I am not sure ...All the best to you and best regards JM
@@mrzuidpool Wow that's incredible! I'm sure there are adapters for all thread sizes, as long as you can fix it properly and at a correct focal distance.
Dear Alex. I bought the camera but after few photos the camera shutter does not work. The film charge correctly but when I shut, no photo at all. The camera lens doesn't do anything. Could you help me? Thank you
Afraid to say but sounds like your shutter is broken - which happens all the time with the vintage cameras. Your options are: 1. Find a camera repair that you trust and brave the repair bill - which will be at least £100 2. Buy another camera.
Hey so since the camera is 100% mechanical it doesn't really matter what ISO you have - you still have to measure the light and set the exposure yourself
Thank you for making this vdo. I'm thinking of buying this one, too. But I always have problem with loading films (I'm a newbie for film photography, so it a little bit hard for me to figure out ).

Classic-Car-Perspective no problem at all, happy you liked it!
Спасибо за обзор камеры. Да, согласен, камера сделана будто бы топором, но аккуратно и стильно

Oh crap Alex! Now I want one! Great video as always :-)
Haha thanks! This is not the most expensive camera, so treat yourself :D
I just bought one, thanks.
Hello, thanks for the video, I am wondering where to find the battery this camera uses?😊
Hello! There’s no battery from what I remember.
Thanks Alex, very nice post, all the best, Jm
Thanks, glad it was of use!

nice video! "Made with an axe" is a cool phrase, I get the gist of what that means but what exactly does that mean and where does it come from?
Haha this is a general description towards anything made in Soviet Union I think and my poor attempt at translation
From Belarus. And Rusia.
Thank you . . . 🌸
Do these use standard m/l39 lenses? Would something like, say, an Industar 50 mount to the camera?
From what I hear m39 yes, but I heard lecia ones wont work because the focus is special on them. Standard m39 should work.
Nice review, well done. How can I to reset the counter?
Should reset automatically when you open the camera I believe?

Hi, how do you deal with iso off the values on the top, such as 200 and 100? By setting it somewhere in the middle or compensation on exposure?

Life saver!

Thanks! I hope this vid makes film loading a bit more straightforward.
@@AlexSavin It does! Thank you so much.
a question i'd have
how do you know when the film is completely used
Once you get to frame 72 you can pretty much assume that the film is finished
Can you do the Chaka 3
Haha I'll see if I can find it on Ebay
@@AlexSavin just bought one just want to now how function how it works
@@ddizon666 How different is it really from Chaika 2? I bet there must be a lot of similarities.

May i know where is the iso setting?
ISO is going to be on the film you buy and load into this camera
Cześć 👍😀 czyli aparat nie ma opcji ustawiania ISO? Wiec jest przystosowany do jednego rodzaju filmu np. ISO 100 (jak Adox?)..? Pozdrawiam😃👌😃👍
Literally bought one now from eBay 😀
Congrats!
Same watch, same camera :)
