In the old days, the bottom trim level of most car makers was vinyl/plastic seat trim. Higher spec came with cloth seat trim. Today, some makers offer 'vegan leather', or plastic seat trims. I want leather for leather trim. Proper leather!
This is the future until EVs and charging improves. These will cover 95% of your journeys in EV mode and for the rest, you can always get petrol everywhere and the range will be twice an EV. Like most plugins, it only makes sense to charge at home or where it's free. Using a public charger doesn't make sense as the cost of electric is more than petrol. Using overnight rates of 5p/kwh to charge this, I reckon it would be around £1 to charge and get 60-70 miles. Perfect! Great balanced review!
Waiting for mine, not as a company car though. Has been stuck in Germany for 3 weeks now, waiting to board a boat to England. Can't wait, honestly. We have solar panels and a car charger at home, so it will be great for short commutes and even back and forth from Heathrow in full Electric.
I would actually prefer Vegan Leather or cloth. Tish- It would be useful to know What is the size of the petrol tank & what would be the overall range on a long journey (without any charging)?
Wanting VAG phev we are forced to wait for caddy phev or Multivan, and wait for it - T7 based on Ford Toureno Custom. Skoda should do their minivan - next gen Sharanq
Bought one, waiting for delivery. Unfortunately the queue is long and I bought whatever was in the seller's stock, some feature missing VW/Skoda/Audi /Cupra style, some extra but with a price.
Vegan leather is made from bamboo. That's why it's referred to as vegan, because it's a by product of a plant. Don't know how they do it, but they do.!😮
I’m sure it’s more than in demand for other products. I’m not a huge meat consumer. I just think the artificial stuff is good enough, just a personal preference
@@AutoSocialUKbecause you eat too little meat you're overweight for your height. Get more carnivorous and you'll get slimmer but with better bones and muscles. Keep your actual diet and you'll end up diabetic with heart problems
Across the EU, EV sales dropped 11% in July, Volvo have just announced they are ditching their all EV models by 2030, a total waste of resources, 54% of people can’t charge at home, WHY is this fact ignored.
No Volvo is not "ditching their EV models by 2030", they have postponed the date to a full electric brand, but demand for EV in Europe is strong. Furthermore, in Europe, the only alternative to EVs will be public transportation and cycling, new ICE cars will be ban in 2035. And honestly, most people don't need a car at all in cities, where 80% of the population live.
It’s nice but like most new cars crazy over priced. I have the mk1 kodiaq and to get the same car it’s £10K more. For a ŠKODA. Nice car decent interior BUT and it’s a big but they’ve gone too far on price for what you get. Many brands offer similar space and performance with high quality finish inside for around the same money.
In reality not so mane people buy 7 seater and much less of those use all these seats regulary The same belongs to 4x4 Who needs this extra weight because of rare use
2/3 of review is not about plug in No real life: electric range, acceleration, performance numbers, nothing about suspension and steering, nothing about car behavior with drained battery, etc Sorry but its a shame
Real leather is renewable, cows die or are used for beef, obviously, so the leather is not needed, so many weak soft people around these days, if you want to be a vegetarian (you need supplements to get all the nutrients your body is missing out on) then fine, no problem, just don’t force your twisted views on others.
Though they weren’t covered in this data set, plug-in hybrid sales are also growing quickly. First-quarter numbers were 46 percent better this year than last, and that climb is expected to continue through 2024. While automakers haven’t given up on their EV plans completely, the growth in PHEV sales has some backtracking a bit.
10:55 I am sorry, but since when is a 4,75m long, 2.0ton heavy SUV with a huge boot is meant for «drive leisurely around town and for short journeys »…???? Just what our congested cities need… 🤦🏻

Well done
Real ir real
All they claim eco, vegan etc just for one reason to make car productio cheaper and sales price higher
Bravo Skoda
Sure why not, I WANT proper leather, I want, I want..
This review has an air of freshness about it!🤭💖
The boot capacity for the PHEV is 745 litres and not 910 as mentioned in the video. Still very large though......

Agreed. The charging infrastructure in Aus is a long way behind other countries that are moving to EV.
With tax incentivised fuel cards most PHEVs are not charged simply out of complacency.
@@toyotaprius79 User error? I've heard that a lot and it gives them a bad name. When used correctly, they are 2 cars in one.
I bought one. Arriving soon. I hope to use the EV part without charging at home.
@@georgesbv1 It will be much better if you can charge at home. You'll need a charger eventually.

Hey Tish are u going to test the battery range in mixed driving?
Real leather is still number 1
I would actually prefer Vegan Leather or cloth.

Is this the size of a X5 mentioned ?

Re Vegan Leather, just call it what it is - plastic - and don’t pretend it’s a top of the range option on some cars.

@@jimsmith2544 fair enough, whatever it is though I don’t want it. Leather or a decent cloth option will do.

Good looking car. And with VW backing Skoda now it should be bomb proof.

Very clever and classy dash and interior by Skoda. Lovely looking seats too. Why no 7 seat option anymore do?
Just on the plug in hybrid. Battery takes up too much space where they would be. It’s a shame
@@AutoSocialUK Ye that's a pity alright.
12:43 PM Very nice 👍 upgrade, but so is the price I'm sure.
No 7 seater option in PHEV? May as well just get a Superb in that case
Hi, Tish 💙
Real leather 👍 Not direct climate controls 👎
Real leather is just more durable. PU Leather starts to rip after heavy usage for a few years.
No 7 seat option with the PHEV 😮😢
