    I decided to take on motorcycling at 40 years old but then, the pandemic came. While I was waiting patiently (and painfully) for the lockdowns to stop, Yammie Noob was the channel I listened to to keep me motivated, positive and entertained. 2 years later, I now have riden for one summer, over 5000 KM, and decided to buy the PERFECT TOILET. Yes, the Ninja 400, Haha!

    Yam mentioned generally going for a good brand if you know nothing else, and I agree with him there. You can get some pretty inexpensive starter gear from all the big-name manufacturers if you just take a little time to check their sites and then shop around. With summer coming up, also consider a mesh jacket. These are lifesavers, especially if you're planning on commuting.

    I grew up riding dirt bikes and my first street bike was a 200 enduro obviously slow but a super fun bike, I sold my 200 and got a Yamaha 650 cruiser and rode that for about a year I wasn’t super into the bike simply because it wasn’t my style than I got a ninja zx6r and I fell in love! Put about 10,000 miles on it the first year just recently I upgraded to my dream bike a 4th gen Yamaha r6 I’ve put a ton of work/time/money into it but it’s a beautiful bike!

    If anyone is looking for a budget helmet brand which doesn't cut corners on safety you can look up MT HELMETS, they have great DOT an ECE certificates unlike LS2 Helmets which are in the same price ranges. I got 2 helmets from MT and my full face has 5 star rated protection(I think I have the Revenge model), for comparinson the nolan N87 has 4 stars, and I got a trials helmet which has 4 stars. Stay safe guys!

Tho boots you recommend here are far cheaper than i got ones with the discount. mine were 120 eur after discount, without discount they were 389 eur. ( alpinestar )

    Love your videos! Super informative, and I’m abundantly grateful for your talking speed, only videos I don’t have to put on 2x speed to pay attention. I may have missed it, but do you have a video that talks about female riding gear?
    I follow some accounts (ATWYLD, Tobacco, Pando) but would love your thoughts. You seem to care about safety and style, only a couple years ago it was difficult to find safety gear that didn’t look Harley daddy, kinda dorky, or meant for the track. Especially for women. Anyway, would love to know your take on women’s gear.

    I love these budget friendly gear reviews. I like buying peak value, after getting the features I want or need. No hate to the BMW ADV dads who spend half as much on Klim clothing than I spent on my bike. I particularly appreciate the Nolan N70-2 X helmet recommendation as that looks just right for me. THE LINK YOU PROVIDED IS WRONG.

      Not a Klim apologist, but they do offer some good gear priced about the same as the other premium brands. I think the uber-pricey gear is just there to separate rich boys from their daddy's money.

      @@carver7689 - I ride a small ADV bike and it does seem that Klim marketing has determined that there is a market of retired professional guys who drop $25K on a big new ADV bike, another $5K accessorizing the bike, and they'll spend $1500 on a very nice ADV jacket. Good for those guys and good for Klim for supplying products to satisfy that demand. Free markets for the win!

    From the REV’IT! Eclipse, SS united, SS Rust & Redemption, SS hot head, and SS Straight Savage 2.0. Which one is cooler (in the sense of most ventilated) I live in Miami. Where everyday is 100 degree weather, the most ventilated the better . And what are the MAIN! Differences? I’m just a beginner rider (about to get his first bike) buying my first set of equipment. Also! Thank you very much for your video they’ve been a TONS! Of help

    I’d love a CC pocket. Way better than inadvertently breaking the law when your shirt or jacket ride too high going down the road, depending on your state. Plus no need to cause concern amongst other well-meaning drivers.

    Changing from off-road to on road really hits the wallet in the gear category. I have yet to pull the trigger on some street pants.

      Just wear your knee guards or knee brace under your Levi’s, and by some padded underwear, now any pants you can slip into are “biker pants”.

    I appreciate your videos. I’ve been riding for about 3 years “R3” and my husband has an R6, for Christmas this past year he got a new MV Augusta Superveloce and is planning on giving me his R6 as I feel like I’m ready for a bigger bike and have ridden it before. Should I be looking into stronger gear than I used on my R3 because of the weight and speed difference in the 2 bikes?

    • @4-n52
      @4-n52 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Not really if you already have decent gear. Going down at say 70mph on a slow bike that took 5 minutes to get there or a fast bike that got there in 3 seconds is still crashing at 70mph. Now if your doing higher overall speeds than you were previously then maybe depending on what level of gear you have now. I personally recommend getting the best gear you can afford regardless of the bike or how you ride.

      @daria_morgandorffer5768 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@4-n52 I have good gear but I’m really small and I’m just worried about the extra weight of the R6. He is currently lowering it for me which I know is kinda lame when it comes to the way it handles but I’m only 5’1 so it has to be done for me to able to ride safe and confident.

    • @4-n52
      @4-n52 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@daria_morgandorffer5768 The weight of the bike won't have any effect on gear. Only the speed at which you decide to slide down the road. The R6 is actually a relatively light bike but it is a very aggressive riding position and would feel tall to a smaller rider. Since they are discontinued you could probably sell it for a good price and get something else slightly used that you would feel more confident on. So many options out there.

    Speaking of Texas gear, is the savage jacket cool enough for these summers down here in south Texas?

  • @marklengal9990
    @marklengal9990 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really like the savage 2.0 two tone as far as looks. The only thing I question is the neck line. It appears to be large in diameter, does it have a snap to make it snug on the neck to keep air from going in the jacket?

    Been looking at getting a bike for about a year. I’m 17 and finally making enough money to be able to afford one. I’ve got offroad experience but not a whole lot of on road experience. How bad of an idea is a 600? I know people who say it’s okay to start on a 600 as long as you keep your ego in check but I’ve also met people who say it’s a no and you should never do it. Any advice?
