The plain chachalaca has a very distinctive call. When the group of 6-12 of them go off at once… that’s not a very present sound. lol I used to live in the Valley (McAllen).
used to go kayaking here a while bac, would run across caiman on every other occasion. Saw a pack of coyotes(?) with similar markings on their legs when leaving one day. Very neat spot!
