If you transfer the SS badge from the old bumper to the new one or leave the new bumper without a badge then I wouldn't call it an upbadge, I'd only consider it an upbadge if you decided to add the ZL1 badge to the bumper. The new look is way better!

asn pawcio That is not a v6 it’s a SS 1le. There are three variates of the SS (1SS, SS 1le and 2SS)
The 1le comes with a performance data recorder that is exclusive to the 1le and zl1 1le.
V8 you can clearly see it’s a V8 When he pops the hood
Just a word of caution, the factory ZL1 1LE dive planes and lower spoiler deflectors (side pieces) are tied into the fascia with additional clips. This kit is probably ok for the street, but may not function like the OEM pieces at the track. They will deflect and possibly break at speed.
Yup, I added a mechanical cinch on the backside, and the top end is secured, had the same concern you had
It came out great! Nice looking install. The Ikon bumper looks better than the American Authority one. Too bad the factory ducts don’t line up.
Yeah was a bit bummed about that, we tried for a while to get it to work but couldn’t make it work unfortunately, time to come up with a DIY!

makes total sense, the main reason i like the camaro is for that aggressive front. but only having it on the zl1 aint nobody trying to spend 70k. and for a daily the zl1 seems a little too crazy

Love the video, I’m really considering doing this rather than a separate splitter install. I heard that some have fitment issues with the bumper not matching up exactly to the base fender or wheel well area.

Im doing this to my ss as well never claiming its a zl1,a body kit is a body kit. If you badge it as a zl1 then youre false badging other wise its just a body upgrade

I did notice an issue with the whole install... The # of beer bottles around the car during the process. Empty beer bottles tend to extract fit-ability on after market parts. The distribution of these bottles after installation seem to insure better fitment. Just sayin, LoL!! It's certainly an awesome look!

your factory ss 1le bumper didn't come with the front lip? they usually do come with one. look like a standard SS bumper without the lip, so much less aggressive without it. ( I do own a blue '17 ss 1le, and quite still in love with it ;) )
Bought it used, when replacing the bumper I found the oem shards, looked like the original owner hit a curb and took it off lol
@@macpettit2327 yeah, shit happen. I did scrape a little bit the right corner and bottom of mine a couple times unfortunatly ... nothing major a little touchup couldnt mask. it's not meant to only be a beauty queen, it's meant to be driven! :P

It resembles a 2015 toyota corolla grill. Who else agrees that shelby and camaro followed the leading corolla in design for the front fascia/ grill?

Hey man question I got my bumper in my room waiting to get it painted but I got the generation 2 bumper just like you but I’m wondering how come you did not swap your stock upper grill with your badge onto your new bumper I seen a couple youtubers do this and said it fits ,,,,, especially the wild hammer flow tie upper grill also fits ?????? Did u try it already
Mainly because I couldn’t justify an extra $250 for just for a just Chevy emblem, I’m sure it would swap right on tho!
They tried to make u pay 250 to take off ur OG grill and put it on your new bumper

Ah I didn’t read your comment right sorry ; I didn’t reuse the stock upper grill because I wanted the air flow possible, and the the GM “Flow Tie” upper grill from Windhammer is $200+ which I decided to skip for now, maybe later I’ll drop it in!

Did u paint the black portions? Or were they stock matte black?
They are matte black stock, the canards and grill are a direct match in color and texture, but the lip is a tad bit lighter in color
My 2SS Fifty edition has those same coolers and isn't a 1LE.

They came satin black, it’s extremely close / identical in texture and look to OEM 🙌

Yes they are removable, but would leave an inlay that I don't think would look to great, may be best to opt for the regular ZL1 option that they offer!

I've been shopping for a blue 2019 SS for awhile. If I can save money on a 2017 camaro SS and then mod it, this might be worthwhile.

The fitment was perfect for me; didn't have any issues; you do need to remove the aux cooler ducting or trim it because it doesn't line up (very easy)
