Yep totally get it. If you are a planner girl you know that a big part of analog planning is the paper and leather feel of your planner. It’s like a security blanket. It’s making me take another look at setting up my standard for March and I might take some of these insert ideas and apply them. As far as needing the next months insert a week ahead of time I find I just setup my next months planner in the new TN with next month’s decor and just leave the old insert out. You could slip the old insert into the sticker binder as needed. One thing I’m loving about TNs is how easy it is to archive everything since it’s bound. :)
I am only to 16 mins of this video and I had to stop to comment. I have been looking for planner peace for decades. I thought I had sort of found it with EC for a while but have always lacked things. I didn’t even get any planners this year bc the market is so saturated now & it’s hard for my brain to decide without actually seeing it in person which is impossible so instead of getting anything, I got nothing! 😂 I have been floundering. I thought I was going to do my own bullet journal set ups, kind of following the Hobonichi cousin layouts but make it more personalized for me (and thicker paper). Then I was like this is way too much setting up & logistics. I am SO glad I found you today. Every thing you have shared on here and your set up resonates with me. I can’t wait to finish this and check out your other videos and the companies you use/credit. I love your handwriting too. ❤
I love this! I started using a digital planner but love your set up. Literally set up my planner while watching this video. I’m ready for the new month. Thanks so much!!
If this works for you, this is great. I am the type of person that has to have it all in one book that I take everywhere. I cannot do different books like this XD
Thank you for sharing! This is a very simplistic, streamlined and beautiful setup that looks incredibly functional as well. Personally, I've grown very fond of my disc-bound system & (for now) prefer it for the ease of adding/removing sheets. I tend to change things up often. Your setup, however, has been so helpful in helping me visualize a more compact way of planning & the various sections to include. The order in which you placed them make perfect sense as well & make for an easy transition from big picture planning to the daily details. I could definitely see myself using TNs like this if my handwriting weren't so big! 🤣
The LaurenPhelpsDesign TN sleeve allows you to add 4 inserts on one elastic with no jump bands. If you find you don’t like the jump bands or need to add more that could be a way to get there.
You’re inspiring me to try to make my own inserts! Do you have a video on how to do that? Like, what paper do you print on, how do you bind the pages together, etc?
I’ve never done one showing printing because all printers are different and I doubt a lot of people have the same one as me. But I do have a video showing how I cut and fold. th-cam.com/video/SUh5yeZLUmE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TRwaH7Tr83MtLZFH
I think this is the system that will actually work for me. With ADHD, it is very difficult to write anything down when so many things are racing through my head all at once. Maybe separating the things I need to keep track of will be beneficial. Can you tell me where the little notebooks in your planner come from? Are they already preprinted? I think you mentioned inserts and I went to the website you listed and can see all the wonderful layouts there. If I purchase the printable format, am I just going to print on regular paper, and how do I get it in the book? Just the thought of everything here and in the planner world overwhelms me. But not being able to keep track of my life is causing me so much stress and anxiety. When I came across your video I immediately felt some kind of connection to this style of planning. I'd be so grateful if you could direct me to what I need to start this method. I see lots of "traveler's notebooks" on Amazon, but have no idea what I should be looking for. Thank you so much!! This could change so much for me.
Hey there! I use what is called "standard size" traveler's notebook. Here's a link to a getting started video: th-cam.com/video/FeoGoK1Yw88/w-d-xo.htmlsi=p57ZcirSAXmbKeOB
What weight paper are you using to print your planners? I usually use 32 but this looks thicker? Your system is magnificent. The simplicity is gorgeous, and yet you've left no stone unturned. I have a million Moterm covers i could use for this and your insert source is one ive never heard of! Thank you for the suggestion! Great video! ❤
Thanks for watching and for the kind words! I'm pretty smitten with the setup. I LOVE creffectivepaper!! I use Hammermill 24 lb premium. Here's the link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00000J3LO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I do love Creffective Paper's inserts but I don't really have any experience with printing and cutting TN inserts. Would you be able to do a video showing how you do this?
How do you get the printables from the website into a travel notebook set up. This what I am trying to do with the same printables you have. Exactly what I am looking for.
Passport is another thing I've been tempted by lately but I've always found smaller planners harder to write it in (physically). Probably because I have huge hands. haha
@@HappyPlacePlanning I feel the same except it’s the one who has the rings mine does not have rings and honestly I think 🤔 I love passport size more than weeks I don’t have issue with space in passport
I have been wanting to use a complete setup in my Giramondo also! I had actually shared a setup last month, but because I have no idea how to incorporate different inserts into one section like you have, it failed for me. Back to rings except for my year of record inserts. Would love to know how you were able to do that. Or if you have already shared that on a video, please share a link. Thanks so much! ❤ love how this is set up!
@@HappyPlacePlanning Yes, it’s on my channel! I have a very new channel! Thanks for the link, I do have jump bands. Problem is, I have so many different “sections“ in my rings planner, trying to figure out how to make it work in a TN. 🤔😊
@@HappyPlacePlanning curious, in the recent video, it looked like you had an insert that was a mix of different inserts. Was that the case or did I just think that’s what I saw? The way you have to print inserts, I cannot figure out how to make that happen, without making custom inserts which I cannot do.
Do you have any recommendations for dupes of your Gillio for those of us who are starting out and want the same amount of room, but at a little bit of a lower cost? 😅
Love your setup. I'm thinking about switching from my passport size to the tn standard now. I went through all your links and I am not finding the one specific to your daily/memory pages. Can you let me know which link that one is? Is that one something you customized with one of the links? Thanks so much :)
I tried to find the cover with multiple elastics. Are any of these links for it? I couldn’t understand the name you said. Could you provide a link for it or the brand name? Thanks!
Liking your set up HP Planning. I see you display Traveler’s notebooks in your beautiful leather cover but the creffectivepaper website shows PDF printables. Excuse my ignorance (!) but how does one put together printed pages into a seamless appearing notebook? Thank you so much!😅

Now this makes me want to set aside from rings and try printables in a TN. The TN and rings systems are always the two I go back and forth between.
Both a great systems for sure!
Your insert printing and cutting is so on point. 💗
The camera hides all the mistakes! LOL
I'm in an A5 TN and have everything, and I love it. I don't work outside the home so it's not to large for me.
