Pianist OLGA VINOKUR began piano studies at the age of six, and at twelve was awarded First Prize in Russia's National Young Artist Piano Competition. On moving to Israel, she received her bachelor’s and her artist’s diploma with honors from the Rubin Academy of Music (Tel-Aviv), where she studied with Victor Derevianko and Natasha Tadson. She pursued her master's and DMA at the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Salomon Mikowsky. She has received numerous awards and prizes, including a first in the Prokofiev Piano Competition (RU) and major prizes in the Torrefranca International Piano Competition (IT), the Koussevitzky Piano Competition (NYC), and the Rubin Academy Competition (Israel), among notable others. Olga regularly appears on the stages of three continents, where "the strength and consistency of her artistry" (New York Times) make her a convincing champion of both traditional and contemporary repertoire. She is a frequent solo and chamber performer at Brooklyn's renowned Bargemusic. An avid chamber musician, she has performed with the St. Petersburg, Martinů, Nightingale, Æolus, and Primo string quartets, among many others. She has appeared as soloist with major orchestras in Europe, USA, and Russia. Her recorded performances have enriched the airwaves in this country, Canada, Europe, and Israel, and she figured in Canada's Bravo TV documentary, Women of Music. The American Record Guide noted that her performances in her first solo album "bear comparison with many of the top pianists of the past 75 years. She stands up very well and also manages to say something new along the way". The New York Times summed up Olga Vinokur's insightful way with modern scores, saying "she knows just how to handle composers who surf the line between a Romantic sensibility and a modern sound".

The mission of the The Frederick Collection of Historical Grand Pianos, ca. 1790-1928, is to acquaint musicians and the concert-going public with the sounds of pianos of the types, and often the makes, familiar to and played by the major composers. Begun in October 1985 by co-curators Michael and Patricia Frederick, Ashburnham, MA, these fall and spring Historical Piano Concerts feature standard piano, chamber, and vocal repertoire from the late 18th through the early 20th centuries. The series presents distinguished American and overseas musicians, many of whose names are familiar to our live and virtual audiences.
