I remember how sweet Emma was for the most part but her dad said that she was always trying to be the center of attention…you know, ignoring the fact that the real attention hog was Dylan.
Kids like him end up going to school and wreaking havoc. Disrupting class, exhausting the teachers who by law are unable to properly discipline them, distracting other students, getting the office staff involved and over worked, etc. all because parents are too ignorant, afraid, or lazy to properly discipline them.
He's using meal time for control and attention. Put healthy food on his plate and ignore him. No fighting, begging, "just one bite" etc. No attention to what he is or isn't eating. No snacks besides fruit or vegetables in between. He'd eat.
What in heck is wrong with parents these days…YOU’RE THE PARENT!!! Discipline your kids. Good grief…it’s sickening the way parents are afraid to stand up to their kids…..
No one is raised by their own parents anymore so no one learns how to raise kids Everyone just ships their kids off to school and expects the schools to raise them I didn’t know how to parent when I started either But now I homeschool my kids because I’ve learned
@cynthiacollett6233 that was the Clause family's issue right there. The parents were too afraid to stand up to their kids, which is what led to them still having toddler tantrums as preteens.
One good thing about these parents at least is that they don't scream and yell at their kids. But that poor baby desperately needs some discipline and structure.
The way this mother caters to his outbursts is the issue. You dont teach boundaries at 16. She created this. Lazy and the father as well. Food is the what goes in and is not nutricious that leads to more serious medical issues.
The lack of speech in Dylan does make me wonder. For 3 years old he doesn't communicate the way you'd expect him to by now. Even if it was only short sentences.
Years ago when I first saw this episode I thought ‘take the kid to the doctor and get him some iron injections in his bum. That should make him eat.’ Thankfully, I’m older and more mellow now. 😂
"I'm the old fashioned dad [about eating]." No you're not. If you were, you wouldn't have let him have snacks and sweets in-between meals. You also would not have allowed him to talk to your wife like that. (Not that she helped much, though.)
I agree with Dad: if Dylan does not want to eat, don't make him. Let him go hungry until he comes back to the table and eat properly. Makes me sick to see children act this way.
not just eating habits, imagine any child grows up thinking everyone around them is simply there for them to get what they want from. It's a dangerous way to raise future adults.

Why is he getting candy and junk out of the pantry if he's not eating meals? No wonder he doesn't get hungry for meals.

No kidding Sherlock
Sometimes kids just are born wilder than others as some of us know all too well. Same house hold and upbringing but some are way more challenging
Sounds like Brandon & Caila from the Clause family.
Yup
For some parents it’s harder than another. Look at their elder sister, he’s raised by the same parents.
Time out chair, or eat. His choice. Period.
ZERO SNACKS BETWEEN MEALS.
Tantrums ?? Nap time. Zero toys in the bedroom,
until the behavior changes. Privileges are earned.

If he gets hungry enough, he’ll eat whatever is put in front of him. Allowing the tantrums is pain laziness on the part of the parents.
This gives me horrible anxiety. When parents are like this and kids turn out like this it’s terribly unfortunate.
