- *UPDATE 7/17/16: This siren has been 'moved' 30 feet from its original location (closer to the fire department and next to the school speed limit sign). And the old Model 2's pole has been removed.
Shot on August 29, 2015. This is a fire/alert siren test of the Union County fire/alert siren system. This siren is tested every Saturday (except the second Saturday of every month) at 12:00 PM ET. This siren replaced an old Model 2 a few years ago (old siren has finally been recently removed, now the old siren pole remains). I believe this Model 2T was refurbished. I was originally going to record a Model 2 at Southside Fire Department (Union County Fire Station 1200) but I was told it's broken for 10 years. So, since the Model 2 is broken, I got suggested that this Model 2T works. Then I decided to come to this Model 2T for the second attempt to record it since I'm already in Union, SC. Then again it went off! I never knew this siren is dual toned. I never knew it would do attack or a long test. My first attempt to film this siren was on February 21, 2015 (back when the old Model 2 was there) but was a failure. After the failure, I reported the problem to the county fire dispatch. Now this siren was fixed! This siren is located in Monarch Mill (near Union), South Carolina near Monarch Fire Department (Union County Fire Station 800) and an old abandoned factory off of Lockhart Highway (49) and State Road.

Wow, my 2T sounds very similar in pitch, sounds like this one is a 120v model. Nice to see a a video of a 2T that runs attack, not too many do that.
Our 2ts run attack also. All four of them. The fire department's 3t22 runs the hi-lo signals.
@GOVT4570 what town is that?
Wow I’m getting a model L siren
The original 2t-120 sirens in my town are still in service. The model 2's run attack while the fire depts. 3t22 runs hi-lo
it sounded like asc hurricane or thunderbolt 1000t only chopper
This thing sounds like a Thunderbolt with no blower.
same chopper and motor.
Model 2T and ACA Hurricane sirens sound the same
@Siren Master17: I kinda agree.
pretty close because it has half the port ratio, but twice the chopper rpm
Wow that sounds great!
Sounds like a 4/5 thunderbolt
Thats basically wtf this is
Awesome Video!
Awesome
AWSOME SOUND
try driving home after work around 10pm and have this thing go off while sitting at the intersection next to it haha
Wow.
While I hate the new (this) model two housings styles... These look Chinese! The original Fedelcode 2½ HP sirens are much better... this TT siren is intersting.. Elmont NY had a few of these many years ago...but thats about it. Glad it's painted CD yellow.. I go by the Federal rule of all dual tone sirens must be painted CD yellow.. This could be painted again actually.... keep it from Rusting!
Rob Rock hey one question i have a civil defense model 2t -220v but i just wanna know what are the difreneces thanks
@@btwlbchris3360 the voltage
These were all American made. Don't know what makes you think the housing is Chinese.
Nice :D
GRRRRREEEEAAAAATTT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like an ACA Hurricane Siren
because it has half the port ratio, but twice the chopper rpm
