- Today's 'Modders Monday' episode is being released early as a dedication to all the Dads, flying or otherwise, in time for Fathers Day. It features a quick look at a new G3000/5000 Checklist mod on a flight across the deep blue stuff from Albany to Wynyard, Australia. Helped by some ripper tailwinds, we make good time, reflecting on the funky weather currently affecting my homeland.

My wife and I visited your wonderful country back in 1986 and a couple of memories have stayed with me. At our hotel in Cairns, there was a chair on the verandah reserved for the cat. The cat's name was Bruce, reinforcing the Monty Python stereotype. In Sydney, we went to the Opera House for a performance of one of Mahler's symphonies. It was OK, but the real cultural highlight was a hotel that had a mechanical Ray Charles robot performing nightly in the lounge. Pretty heady stuff for a small town kid from Ohio.
Ah mate, Australia was a very different place back in the 80s. Fantastic time to be a young (or younger...) person down under. I miss it greatly. Bruce's seat sounds very...Cairns :) One of my favourite life memories involves at night at the Opera House with the missus. I must have done the Opera House tour more than some tour guides! And nothing says 'Straya like sun, sand and a mechanical Ray Charles!
We are getting a bit of the windies and warmies as well. Once used to that we'll probably get a cold snap and all get sick. It's probably better to stay indoors and flightsim to our hearts content and stay well. Happy Fathers Day to you too.
That sounds like the most sensible plan I've heard in a long time. Anyone reading this message has my express permission to sim for their own safety!
As a meteorologist myself I enjoyed your weather segment. Shocked though at those temperatures for end of winter. Here in the Netherlands we had record amounts of rain since October.
Wowsers, an actual meteorologist! It was worth making this video just to learn that. Sincerely, thanks mate.
Modder's Monday on a Friday - that's really got me confused even more than usual. Interesting weather down under, must admit to a bit of jealousy though. Your winters are warmer than our summers!
Yeah, I know. The guy operating this channel has truly lost the plot. He also has an annoying tendency to speak in the 3rd person...
Definitely some spicy winds. And that ground speed! Your shadow was getting close to breaking the sound barrier.
Nice one.
Cheers mate
Flown to Wynnah in the sim quite a while back now, always has gnarly wind coming over those trees!
Hey Dad!!! Great video again and I really appreciate the content of the checklist addon. I'll download and incorporate into my airplanes. 🙂
Cheers mate
I’ve been in the leer 35 and it’s such a treat with the correct keybinds for the yoke switches. I don’t have deluxe and it’s too close to the next sim release to buy it now so sadly no longitude for me. But the cj4 and the vision jet serve well
Yep, the Lear 35 is such great fun. I really must take the Vision Jet out of the hangar again...
Welcome to FDA, the Trades are HOWLING so, keep those belts tight, consume a bit of alcohol and this will me Medium Sphincter flight and Welcome Aboard
Mate, I like the idea of a sphincter rating - seems more appropriate to this channel than a 'like' :)
@@theflyingdad That's why we only fly The Flying Dad Airlines.
