I've a lot of extended family in Grimsby, Cleethorpes and surrounding areas.
I've been visiting for over 55 years and still enjoy it, even though ive saw it decline.
Its sad to see a once bustling town, now littered by empty, derelict buildings and junkies.
Ive a lot of great memories though.
My dads cousin worked in The Exchange Club, Helen Slingsby.
Colin, who ran Turners Fruit and Veg in Freeman Street Market was a relation too.
Memories of Sams Bazaar and Bunnys Place in Cleethorpes 😂
I remember being in Cleethorpes open air pool swimming through the ladybirds 🐞
Anyway, great videos and heres to many more 👍

The shop with the number 345636 was years ago a Green Grouchers and then if you came out the door and crossed over to the other side of Stanley st was a Off Licence then opposite was Harolds the Butchers ( a lady called Dot worked there ) if you then walked towards Duke st you had Ken Davies a Grouchers shop i lived few doors away, it was great living there in the 60s and 70s. Not far from the Off Licence in Oxford st you had Abrahams newsagents and next to that was a Cobblers shop. Happy days Ian

Ian, in Duke street there was a man called Bob Tanner he had a garage where he would arive in his Green Bedford van full of live Chickens and the take a few at a time inside break there necks and pluck them etc, he then had a machine that helped removing the feathers, as kids aged between 7 and 12 we use to stand and watch him do it. He was a nice man who liked us to sing him songs lol. We played tricks on him locking him in his Shed somtimes but it was laugh. At Christmas time you could see the light on from our back bedroom window and hear the noise from his Machine, then he would stand outside smoking his pipe. I dont think that type of thing would be allowed now.

It's sad to see grimsby like this, the decline has been rapid within the last 5 years.. If anyone lives here i suggest moving away, there is so much to the world & even the country compared to grimsby..
    Thanks for the uploads

      100% agree !
These videos are great but they really show how much Grimsby has declined into a shit hole - so sad.
Sorry to say - I live here, born and bred but hopefully we are moving away from the area soon to somewhere better.
