Hey everyone! Tutorial #4 Peh snares! It's a tricky one! Did you figure it out? Let me know in the comments if you get it down! I hope you guys have been enjoying the tutorial series! Many more to come!
It’s an old school sound, it’s kinda fallen out of use as more Snares have been developed and discovered, not counting the infamous alem and codfish-used “peh-k” combo technique
Bruh I been trying to find this sound for ages and after a few tries I got the right lip movement for it just dosent sound clean yet but this sound is the one I mostly needed bro !!
Hi thanks for the tutorial! Is it normal that my belly swells up right before making it pop and breathing in? Then when I breath in the air fills me almost immediatly. How can I reduce the amount of air that goes in? How to make it less tiring?
I'm confused. You call it a pop of the lips which makes me think outwards. But if I do it outwards with breath it seems a lot like a psh snare. Inwards on the other hand, it definitely feels weird as stated and seems more accurate to your description. I've always done the lip smack sound inwardly though. I just started trying but if I breath inward as a smack my lips in that fashion it sounds more like a hat then a snare... losing all the tension in my lips. Is that normal or am I going the wrong direction
I believe going the wrong direction. So Yes, you are correct the lip smack is inward. Because it is inward you are always going to be breathing in! However to get the actual "snare" sound of the peh I was trying to explain quickly here that its the same motion as popping your lips aka lip smacking but with a inhale so you will build pressure on the lips. There should be a lot of pressure on this snare!🙏
Great teacher, learned first time through
After watching this, I learned it in 10 seconds. Such an easy sound.
Thank you for watching!
How have I never heard of this snare lol

this is used more for percussion combos
Bruh, woulda never even imagined. So glad I mindlessly clicked, once I get passed choking on air...
Is incredible 🔥🔥🔥
Got it with this Tutorial! Ty! Before it felt really weird and unnatural and I couldn't get it but the kissing "smack" helped a looot

Tutorial #39!! Check it out!
I do lip roll when I'm trying to learn it
Gotta tighten your lips this one is a pressure sound so you need to make the inhale + your lips tight
make tutorial on your lip roll please

My mouth gets really dry! Am i doing it wrong?
Its because its an inhale sound! Inhale sounds take a while to get used to, they tend to dry our mouths out a lot at first! You will get it!
Im confused. Is it inward or outward?
Inward!
