You're never really getting old as long as you're still learning and making new, big memories. No one gets through this world unscathed. Stay strong, live your best life.
I love how Earworm's lyric samples actually form a narrative, not just random just picking out the hooks, but finding an actual story. And the images played with the lyrics aren't just the corresponding parts of the video, but often thematically linked. Best example is when the sample from Radioactive of "I'm breathing in the chemicals" plays while on-screen, we see (played in reverse) Jay-Z and Robin Thicke inhaling a cloud of smoke. Most pop anthologies are a nice dance mix. Earworm elevates it to art. AND a nice dance mix.
I couldn't have put it better. I understand some of the complaints but I like it just fine, it's on rotation on my iPhone along with the rest of the USOP series.

i think this song shoudlve been called "Welcome to the new age" cause many artists were introduced and many took a large turn in what they did, love the mix though.
Here's how I see this mashup. Earworm picked the best artists of the year. He straight up nailed the selection process. In choosing the songs, he needed songs of a similar nature. He chose music teetering on the edge. A great theme, as that's exactly what is going on with the music business. The independents and the alternatives say, "We'll never be royals" and "Welcome to the new age", while the established acts are going, "You think I'm crazy" and "We ruled the world". This is an age of evolution for music, which will test the mettle of those insane enough to sacrifice something big enough to make something even bigger. To the victors go the spoils. Well done Earworm for capturing this spirit. Notch another cut in your belt.

You caught me. No idea why but I've loved every single USPOP he's ever made except 2019. Not that 2019 is bad or anything, I just don't enjoy it like the others.
I just wanna thank you DJ Earworm. I've been following since I wanna say about 2009, and always get exited at the end of the year to hear your United states of pop Mixes. It makes every song that is over played and that I disliked and makes me love them. You truly have a talent.
guys let's stop thinking about all the negatives. This person had to pick out each song, match them together, get their videos, put those together, upload it here, and doesn't even do it for money, just because they want to express the love for music and how great the world was during 2013 :) just saying
i dont see this mash up the way you're all seeing it. i dont see it as intended to be perfect. i see this mash up as something that sums of 2013. these songs each of them have a meaning for us and to us differently. thats what it is. stop seeing it as this over hyped must be flawless thing and see it as a way to sum up your 2013 and remember it. basically stop hating and just sit back and let each song remind you of well memories :)
2013 will always be my favorite, something about how the songs just mesh so well together, it's seriously a beautiful mash-up. 2009 is a close second, though, just because of how fun it is.

The fact that Earworm ignored big songs like Harlem shake, what does the fox say, one direction's best song ever, and even the other Bruno mars song Treasure, in order to get safe and sound in his mashup is insane
I was able to find some of the harder ones: Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man 1:45-1:49 “Mmm too young too dumb to realize” 2:41-2:44 Background “Ooohs” and “Aaahs” Daft Punk feat. It isn't easy to make mashups, and I think DJ Earworm did a really good job on this one.
Been depressed since late 2012 or early 2013. The decline in music really corellates with it actually not saying it's the cause of it just like I feel like society as a whole started getting dull and dark and depressing gradually from late 2012 on.
13 seconds in and I am getting nostalgic. WHAT THRIFT SHOP WAS NEARLY 3 YEARS AGO,?!!??????!???!????? This makes me feel so old and I am only 12. I am so obsessed with music that I associate memories with the music and this proves everything I think wrong........ 😢😢😢😢😢
i think we're all sad to se the years go by so quickly, our years of music slowly drop away, while newer albums and artists take their place. I personally like these because it brings back those days, where we all just sat and listened, and some made us get up and dance, it truly made us feel alive. So through the years, I think its safe to say that I enjoy this, and hope that through different styles of music, different opinions of what sounds good, they stay alive within us. We'll keep the art of music alive, while keeping older styles great in our memories.
For all of you guys wondering why he didn't put in some of the most well-known songs, it's because it may not have worked with the overall context of this smashup… Some songs fit some don't. Just watching enjoy the video
Here are the songs I think are certain to make it into the USOP 2014 mash-up: 1. "All About That Bass" - Meghan Trainor 2. "All of Me" - John Legend 3. "Am I Wrong" - Nico & Vinz 4. "Bang Bang" - Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj 5. "Black Widow" - Iggy Azalea feat. Rita Ora 6. "Dark Horse" - Katy Perry 7. "Fancy" - Iggy Azalea feat. Charli XCX 8. "Happy" - Pharrell Williams 9. "Pompeii" - Bastille 10. "Problem" - Ariana Grande feat. Iggy Azalea 11. "Rude" - Magic! 12. "Shake It Off" - Taylor Swift 13. "Stay With Me" - Sam Smith 14. "Talk Dirty" - Jason Derulo feat. 2 Chainz 15. "Team" - Lorde 16. "Timber" - Pitbull feat. Ke$ha 17. "Turn Down for What" - DJ Snake and LIL Jon But that still leaves 8 slots to fill. What songs do you guys think will fill them? I have some guesses but I can't be certain of them yet.
TheMoonshimmerz This is how I determine what songs will make it in there: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Billboard_Hot_100_top_10_singles_in_2014 The more weeks a song has been in the Top 10, the more likely it will make the mash-up.
Juliana Schwartz Yes, it did. Listen closely and you can hear the drums and the "eh eh oh, eh oh" in the background. And check his list in the notes; it's there.
We all want a bit of happiness from The time we made and were so much happy . Now we are just eating a bit out of that memory fridge , the left overs , let’s not judge each other coz these are the nostalgic happy memories we have left .
To be honest with everyone .. nowadays people dont make as good music as 2013 it makes me cry because 2013 was probably my golden moments ... I would turn on the radio around noon and just open the window and feel the breeze while hearing the songs play... It felt i guess glorious or something that excited me .
For some reason I'm not feeling it like the previous years... I feel like some songs were put in wrong spots especially Lorde's with those super slowed tempos. Good luck next year I guess...
In my honest opinion, "Lorde - Royals" and most songs are misplaced unlike previous mashups, it's not that its bad, its just different. And to be honest, we love your previous mashups where beats takes us over.
Nearing the end of 2022, and this mashup just makes me realize even more how much I miss Avicii.

Darude - Sandstorm. I'd like that to be the instrumental. Would make the USOP 10 times better.
Riptide, Sing probably Do You Want to Build a Snowman

I think people should quit complaining. It isn't easy to make mashups, and I think DJ Earworm did a really good job on this one.
Still can't beat 2009 though!
indeed
2012 do it! I think
True, true.
2009 was seriously the best
this was alright, just seemed like it didn't flow too well
This one was really pretty good. 2014 is a let down
i think so too. 2014's of DJ Earworm and Pop Danthology mashups let me down.
listen to 2013 is better imho.
duwe kapak Its not about the mashup. its about the music
2014 music in general is a let down. Earworm did a good job making 14's mashup sound... Tolerable...
Personally, I love 2014 mashup.
DJ Quackie Me too
Ah! I look forward to this every year!! This is now my second fav! To me nothing can top 2009! :)
2013 was such a good year. Wish I could go back and feel all that again.
I hear ya. Me too.
It's 2020 and now I'm crying
Same hahaha
Amen
Still here for it in 2021. Don’t stop Dj Earworm!
2020... man how time has flown by... i’m 19 now...
2009 was still your best in my opinion
Agreed. That song is great.
this was an um....emotionally unstable year lol
LMAO. same for me. sammeee for me. I still loved the music though.
OMGG same for me 😲 2013 was the year i started sinking into a deep depression that lasted for a good 5 years 😢
Oh boyyyyyyy wait for 2020 my guy
Been depressed since late 2012 or early 2013. The decline in music really corellates with it actually not saying it's the cause of it just like I feel like society as a whole started getting dull and dark and depressing gradually from late 2012 on.
@@funanyaokeke9023 Hope you doing better
13 seconds in and I am getting nostalgic. WHAT THRIFT SHOP WAS NEARLY 3 YEARS AGO,?!!??????!???!????? This makes me feel so old and I am only 12. I am so obsessed with music that I associate memories with the music and this proves everything I think wrong........ 😢😢😢😢😢
Still can't compete with the awesome 2009 Mashup... :(
Anyone else watching in 2015?
Jaculinmorin Antonyfernando Nope.
Hell no 😠
Me
Jaculinmorin Antonyfernando yes
Jaculinmorin Antonyfernando I am, I just heard about this guy and are going through the years starting at 2009
I look forward to these every year
i think we're all sad to se the years go by so quickly, our years of music slowly drop away, while newer albums and artists take their place.
Why have I not seen you before? F****** AMAZING
Take me back to '09 Earworm
Such sweet nostalgia. I wish I could go back in time where music was this good and relive those years.
Hi! I'm from 2020. When I hear this mashup I always remember Avicii 😭😭😭
R.I.P Avicii ❤️
Two years after this is still my favorite
I LOVE 2014
+Carolina Alves 3 years o3o
+Carolina Alves 2009 is the best for me
+Carolina Alves me too
2009 by far
Excellent mashup!
One of the best mix ever!
Here are the songs I think are certain to make it into the USOP 2014 mash-up:
1. "All About That Bass" - Meghan Trainor
2. "All of Me" - John Legend
3. "Am I Wrong" - Nico & Vinz
4. "Bang Bang" - Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj
5. "Black Widow" - Iggy Azalea feat. Rita Ora
6. "Dark Horse" - Katy Perry
7. "Fancy" - Iggy Azalea feat. Charli XCX
8. "Happy" - Pharrell Williams
9. "Pompeii" - Bastille
10. "Problem" - Ariana Grande feat. Iggy Azalea
11. "Rude" - Magic!
12. "Shake It Off" - Taylor Swift
13. "Stay With Me" - Sam Smith
14. "Talk Dirty" - Jason Derulo feat. 2 Chainz
15. "Team" - Lorde
16. "Timber" - Pitbull feat. Ke$ha
17. "Turn Down for What" - DJ Snake and LIL Jon
But that still leaves 8 slots to fill. What songs do you guys think will fill them? I have some guesses but I can't be certain of them yet.
TheMoonshimmerz This is how I determine what songs will make it in there:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Billboard_Hot_100_top_10_singles_in_2014
The more weeks a song has been in the Top 10, the more likely it will make the mash-up.
Not a bad guess, considering they were all right... Blank Space will probably be in next year's.
Pompeii didn't and idk why😂
Juliana Schwartz Yes, it did. Listen closely and you can hear the drums and the "eh eh oh, eh oh" in the background. And check his list in the notes; it's there.
pompeii is older that 2014
Anyone else noticed that Katy Perry is in every Mashup video? :)
yup, 2008-2014 O.o hahaha she rocks
Layla Aref Miley cyrus too
Layla Aref taylor isnt in 2008 and 2011
Krause Allen marry xmas
So is Rihanna
2013 had to be my favorite year for music.
And a good year in general, listening to this brings me back.
*man, three years goes by fast*
memes YEP. I LOVE THIS SONGS!!!!!
I love all years or remixology! This has become my favorite channel on TH-cam!
hearing Avicii's song made me shed tears...
Don't You Worry Child & Wake Me Up, two legendary EDM songs by legendary DJs🔥🔥
Finally waited all year!! :D
When the mashups started getting slower 😿
+Natallz14 It's not getting slower, these songs are just slower and you just have to search for the fast ones.
I much prefer them tbh.
+Natallz14 Speed up to 1.25, you are welcome.
Yeah the last upbeat one was 2012!!!! Every year I look forward to upbeat ones then let the slow ones grow on me...
+Bonnie Bunny 1.25 speed is the only way I can listen to any of them past 2012.
THIS IS AMAZING, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. CANT WAIT FOR 2014 :).
2013 wasn't a year, it was an era.
This is awesome! I kind of liked 2009 and 2012 better...
its because there was better pop music those years.
We all want a bit of happiness from
The time we made and were so much happy . Now we are just eating a bit out of that memory fridge , the left overs , let’s not judge each other coz these are the nostalgic happy memories we have left .
MOTHER OF MASHUPS O____________O
Best mashup'er since the world was born!
yeah and very very very cooollllllllllllllllll
LIKE IT
DAMN IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR ALREADY
2019 anyone.. waiting for this year mashup
It's become a tradition at this point
It's out now
@@4everlivin99 thanks brother
To be honest with everyone .. nowadays people dont make as good music as 2013 it makes me cry because 2013 was probably my golden moments ... I would turn on the radio around noon and just open the window and feel the breeze while hearing the songs play... It felt i guess glorious or something that excited me .
For some reason I'm not feeling it like the previous years...
I feel like some songs were put in wrong spots especially Lorde's with those super slowed tempos.
Good luck next year I guess...
Yes in the fist second I felt the same
but I like it, I like this one more than 2011...
in my case, I like this one :D
weird that katy and gaga's video keeps popping up, but you barely hear those 2 tracks.. I think Applause was only at the end right?
In my honest opinion, "Lorde - Royals" and most songs are misplaced unlike previous mashups, it's not that its bad, its just different. And to be honest, we love your previous mashups where beats takes us over.
My color guard teacher made our warmup dance to this song and it was amazing. That is how I started listening to your music!
