wen the audio is direct feed from the FOH wit no room mics....but you can still faintly hear the audience screaming that 1 line that ruined the possibility of a tour package wit The Early November and The Get Up Kids.
@@Ebani it's not much of a story. the line was put into the song as a tribute, and TGUK sued to protect the IP of that melody and lyric. neither band had really interacted with each other before the law suit so classic what was meant with good intentions was not received as such. to my understanding it was settled out of court and the result is that The Early November can't re-release the song, they can play it live but the band can't perform the line, and i believe (don't quote me on this) that there was a legal freeze on publicly addressing the matter that might've expired by now...maybe that was more tied to performance/distribution, whatever legal freeze i expect has expired by now all the same. Ace has rarely answered a couple interview questions on the matter but just being careful to not interject opinion, more to just give clarity, to my understanding TGUK have never talked about it. i get the vibe is that miscommunication and the law suit just bummed EVERYONE out. hopeful mentorship/friendship turned sour and they just stay away from each other. no more hard feelings.
Brandon Look He's been singing for probably hours before this, it's late, very hot. Probably been on tour for several weeks, traveling long distance, many shows in quick succession, straining his voice. He's focusing on playing guitar at the same time, and trying to give an energetic live performance. This video was recorded through god knows what mic, after being pumped through amplifiers loud enough for a big venue with muddy acoustics. Who knows how long they had for soundcheck, whether the equipment was theirs or borrowed, if he could hear himself well. Compared to being totally relaxed and prepared in a studio setting. Where there are multiple expensive recording mics in a totally dead room & a pop shield. He only has to focus on the singing and he can do dozens of takes for each individual line and pick the best one. There's post-processing done by qualified & experienced experts, EQ, reverb, compression, mixed perfectly with the other instruments. And you're saying his voice is "better on the album". No fucking shit, what a useless comment. Honestly, this was a really good performance and he sounds better than 95% of the singers I've seen live or on youtube videos.
Jesus. This is so good.
Been here since 02. This performance is perfect.
The Starting Line: performs old songs step down
The Early November: performs old songs step up
