I grew up in Cebu. Back in the early 1980's. I used to go these places because most of my friends were from Medillin ,DaanBantayan and neighboring islands. Whenever there is a Fiesta. They always wanted me to come and accompany them back to their towns. It's sad to see how these places have deteriorated. It's not as pristine as what it's used to be. Back then there were no hotels. I slept in the beach with just a blanket next to a bonfire underneath the stars. I've been to the Florida Keys, Caribbean,Cancun,Hawaii and Los Cabos and still nothing better than the beaches in the Philippines. We need to do a good job in preserving these beaches. It's what sets us apart from other countries of the wold.

Finally, someone explained why we prefer English over Tagalog :) But I'm still working on my Tagalog hehehehe especially when I talk to Ilonggo or Waray friends :)

@@alexachristinezobel6983 Filipino is the National Language and not Tagalog. Go back to Elementary girl. It maybe 60%+ based from Tagalog but it is not Tagalog. Tsk tsk. Also, it is not a mandate that you should speak Tagalog to converse, that is the reason why we have English, and two recognized languages: Spanish and Arabic.

I'd just would like to clarify, bisaya does not only refer to Cebuano. Bisaya refers to the whole Visayas, its people and languages. In other words, you are bisaya if you either speak Hiligaynon, Cebuano or Waray and its numerous dialects like Boholano, Bantayanon, Kana, Kagayanon, Davaoeno for Cebuano; Kinaray-a, Capiznon, Guimaras and Mindanao Hiligaynon for Hiligaynon; and Waray Sorsogon for Waray. This misconception has to stop. Bisaya does not only refer to Cebuano, it is bigger than you thought.

Tama. Bisaya refers to the people who live in the Visayas and practices its culture; and a group of Visayan languages, including its dialects, spoken by people in the Visayas and some parts of Mindanao while Cebuano alludes to the people who are living in Cebu. It is a Visayan language specific to Central Visayas.
Madali lang talagang pag-aralan ang Bisaya and/or Cebuano. Natuto ako ng basics for only a week. Learning other regional languages is fun. Meron din akong mga friends sa Mindanao who speak Bisaya. Ang Filipino (Tagalog) ay parang English grammar. Huwag nalang tayong magtaka kung nahihirapan mag Filipino ang mga taga Visayas at Mindanao. HEHEHE

Visayans are the major best english speakers in the Philippines, From panay, Cebuano region to Waray region.Manileños are only little good 'cause for some of them its hard to pronounce, But they're good in Tagalog.
