Note: this is NOT the same as my game winning/game tying shot videos I am using the NBA definition of clutch. The NBA defines a "clutch" shot as a shot that happens when the score is within five points and there are five or fewer minutes left in the game. I don't totally agree with that defintion but I 1. Don't want to have a definition of clutch that is muddied by my own bias and 2. want to showcase what the shots that the NBA considers clutch actually looks like
How ironic considering that this is the season the haters use to diminish Curry’s clutch gene. Granted, he had a terrible finals performance due to his MCL injury and they did choke the 3-1 lead, but his FG percentages in every category are beyond great. 75% TS in the playoffs? Wow!
There are tons of close wins in the 73-9 season, and a lot of those games were won thanks to Curry's performance in the clutch time. He rarely hits actual game buzzer beaters, but he's one of the best at just finishing off the game before it went down to last few seconds in the first place.
I can’t help but notice Draymond’s hustle and effort on the offensive glass on some of those clips. If the “Clutch” award existed that season I bet it would have gone to Curry for sure along with that unanimous MVP.
What people dont realize is the picture this paints. This season he was historically good in the clutch and it especially showed in the playoffs - and THAT is why the game 7 shocked the world so much. It wasnt just about a 3-1 lead blown. The magnitude was greater because they were 73-9 and Steph Curry was unbelievably clutch going into that. Over 50% in the clutch even factoring in those bricks in game 7. If he weren't clutch before that we'd just say they were just a fluke team or the team was good and Steph was just lucky. But there were a lot of close games. They might have blown out some teams, but you can see they needed every bucket in those crunch times. The 2016 loss won't be forgotten because that was the day when the "hero" magically never showed up at the end. Videos like this are great insight
I think it’s interesting to watch misses of players as much as makes. Curry is a 43% 3 point shooter, if you were someone who plays and sees only his highlights you might believe that he never misses. I think it’s important for people who play to realize even the best shooter misses more than half the 3s he takes

Facts. He was pretty hurt on top of being more tired than ever from doing this for 2 years in a row at that point.
