This one hits different man. The transitions are so smooth! It must have been very challenging for you when it comes to pitching all the vocals and instrumentals. I believe it's your first one album megamix project and not going to lie, it does stand out from the original trilogy! The creativity on this one is mindblowing for me! I remember, waaaaay back in time when I used to wait a lot of time on your upcoming ID megamixes and look, here I am leaving a comment years later but not only as a fan but also as a mashup creator and a friend of yours. There's 2 Mercury songs that have helped me incredibly. The songs Guants and Lonely got me through a really really tough period mentally- I guess the lyrics just reflected everything I was feeling. I would just sit with my friends but with my headphones in, I wasn't eating or sleeping properly but these songs were like a tether that held me on to life and reality, so I am forever grateful to imagine dragons. Things have started to look up again in the last few weeks, but I still have them there and listen to them to center myself.
The audio of the instrumental from a song is called the "instrumental stem" (the singing is the "vocal stem"). Mashups are done by mixing different stems. Sometimes, the stems are available online (provided by the artist, I guess). But I've found that the easiest way to get stems is to use an AI tool that analyzes the audio of a song.
