1947 - 1948 Pontiac - Vintage Photos - Torpedo Styling (Part 1)

The first years after the war Pontiac did only minor changes in trim. Mechanically the cars were robust and had conservative mechanics. 1948 was the first year, Pontiac started to use Oldsmobile's Hydramatic automatic transmission.
Take a trip down memory lane, showing vintage photos featuring these cars and examples of very original cars. Some in great, some in poor condition.

Great video...most of my mom's family drove Pontiacs! I have no idea why GM stopped producing Pontiac's...they were fantastic automobiles. Especially in the 60's with the GTO, Firebird and Grand Prix! Absolutely makes no sense to me!

@@davidkastin4240 I agree with you about Oldsmobile! I used to have a 1989 Olds Cutlass Supreme! Boy would that car move.

@@usmale49 I had a 73 Cutlass Supreme 2 dr, 82 Custom Cruiser and 86or7 Cutlass Supreme Brougham 4dr. All were excellent
