I raise guppy to have giant fan tails. First on Maui for 7 or so years and now in California. Do you know that pet stores trade culled fish for supplies? Gotta be healthy fish they'll be able to sell. You get .50 cents store credit per fish. I traded 100 per week on Maui for like 5 years. I started breeding again 3 years ago so I'm trading 100 per month. It earns enough to cover the best quality food, filter media, pumps, tanks, even new guppy in colors I don't have. Put the males and females in different containers. Mix the colors. Guppy sell for 3.99 - 4.99 here. Your 100 fish costs them $15 - 20 in supplies (what they paid for it) and generates $400 - $500 in sales. And those fish aren't on the books. Total score for them. Albino Cory catfish fetch $1 credit each. I created a short body version that was very popular. High value cuz they always mostly die when they fly them in. Easy to breed.

I always been want to have a fish in my house but they keep dying.
I only get 2 fish at the time. I have a 2.5 gallon aquarium with water filter. That's it.

Sir one advice I'll like to share is the female you introduced back into the female tub will be pregnant. what i recommend for future if you do get female by accident with the Male siblings & there's cull males like the red ones from albino blue topaz is to leave her with the blue Males at least for 3 drops. this way you'll ensure the fathers would be from blue males which would reduce the possibility of the fry being from the red tail males. unfortunately just like blue grass strain so to do albino blue topaz have red tail males as well becz it was used to create the line. so by using more blue males youll get higher % of blue offsprings. i myself have this strain & do get redtail Male but do strict breeding with blue color only to reduce the red color. hopefully this can help others. good luck with your hobby🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Sir I've one request if you can? Do you think you could set up a live brineshrimp culture to grow bbs to adults? you'll need to collect ocean water as its so easily available for you & you'll need to add the leftover live bbs & eggs from when you're finished harvest from your hatchery.
you can feed yeast & astaxanthin powder at first then switch to spirulina powder or just stick to the yeast etc. I've been wanting to do this bbs to adults culture using natural ocean water but can't. maybe you could do it and share your experiences. the adult brineshrimp can be fed to adults guppies etc. you'll just need to have an outdoor tub with slight aeration. you could even use the ocean water to hatch your bbs eggs once it's collect in an environmentally safe place. We do have a place that pumps ocean water to a hose bib. It's a free service for the public. I used to go there and fill up containers with ocean water for my salt water aquarium.

That's excellent Sir. Hopefully you can do it. Another one I'm was thinking of doing is using the old waste salt water tanks when doing water changes is to let it culture phytoplankton outside by placing in natural sunlight & adding some liquid aquarium fertilizers. This way you can get live food source for bbs. Maybe you can give it a try.
