I admit that in my short time here, I've already gotten mixed up on many occasions about all the zeros. 🙂 I've tried to take a 50,000 note out of my wallet and give it to someone and then discover it was actually a 500,000 note. I have to stop and look carefully and count the zeros to make sure I'm not making a mistake. One interesting thing is that a lot of menus and price lists simply ignore the zeros. Instead of 27,000 dong or 48,000 dong, the menu will just read 27 or 48. People have just started to consciously and unconsciously ignore all the zeros. 😁

Not your style, but a more apt title would be “Vietnam shocked me” or “Is it HMC?” Kidding aside, the way you have blended old photos makes the video amazing.
I was thinking about that quite specifically. It's not an exaggeration that I really have been shocked by what I found here in Vietnam. Or maybe shocked isn't the best word. Astonished might be more accurate. But it wouldn't be a lie to put that in the video title. 😁
I'll try to make a short video montage of the pictures that I have. Unfortunately, I don't have a big archive or anything like that. It was more expensive to take pictures back in those days. 😁 But I have a few more. I'll see what I can do.

yes it had changed alot BUT not human right
The answer is D, cà phê sữa đá 🎉
Excellent! You even have all the correct markings on the letters for Vietnamese pronunciation. The woman at the coffee store tried to teach me how to say it properly. But it's very difficult.
Vn had never changed
It seems like it has changed a lot to me. Everything seems very different even compared to the 90s when I was first here.
thịt means pork or beef
Which are you, pusi prowler or Gary glitter?
Great idea handing out cards!
Getting those name cards printed up was one of the few really good ideas I've had. 😁 It just makes things much easier when people ask me for the name of my TH-cam channel.
Thịt means meat. You need to spell it with the dot underneath letter i.
I think I eventually figured out that it meant meat. But then I was unclear about exactly what kind of meat. 😁
But the next day I found another place that had a very clear list of the different types of sandwiches they made. And I've gone back there many times. Always delicious. 👍
Chào bạn
Hello!
Ca phe da ☕cc
I could easily be wrong, but I think I had ca phe sua da. Iced milk coffee. 😁
Imagine if Vietnam didn't have communism and was a first world nation. Imagine just how much more beautiful it would have been. It literally paradise on earth!
These blokes look in the mirror and think expat
Locals look at them and think P prowler at best or Gary glitter at worst
Looks the same to me as it did in 1970 my 1st time in Saigon, just some new malls and Big office Bld,s.I was in CuChi from 1968 to 1970,Saigon in 1970 in 1972, again in 1993 and 2004.You want to see some old hard core VC ,go up to Trang Bang near Cu Chi,they still hate Americans there,
Don’t make up, loser
Food n women (if u known where to go - discreet). Good luck.👍 thanks 4 sharing 😢
War is hell but why ppl keep having war? Even today. Same surfer, still dying, still hell.😢
Nice video but I never heard one horn honk??? Something was wrong!
I do hear some horn honking as I walk around. But I guess it hasn't been excessive. At least I haven't found it annoying or obtrusive.
Vietnam to many is like a faraway land-exotic and beautiful. Vietnam to me has been always synonymous with Anthony Bourdain. RIP, Sir. Bourdain.

Let consider Viet Nam as your second home country. Vietnam always welcome you guys
