I made this in my after-school class for 3-5th graders last year. It was a great success and the kids absolutely loved the project and result. I have been using mine for about a year and it is still in pretty good condition. Sometimes the super minimalist size sends me into a panic when I think I've lost my wallet, but otherwise, it's just perfect for my purposes. I'm going to make it with students at my summer camp tomorrow and I can't wait. Thanks for sharing!
Congratulations! It is an awesome video. I did make my paper wallet at the same time I watch the video. Right now I will go to Office Depot and look for the tyvek sheets. Thank you so much, I really enjoy it!
You must be an Engineer. Great Video. I have had some envelopes stashed next to my computer for years and just happened to search this before a trip to France. Can't thank you enough. A little chatty but well done. Thanks again.
This is a great design. I am going to use it with a group of teens (and give credit where credit is due). Just a note: Do not put Tyvek in your laser jet printer. It will melt.
Very cool. I once used a MightyWallet and liked it.. Your modified, simple design is a nice modification to the original design. I've got some old windsurfing sails that I want to convert into wallets. Do you think that material would work for this design template? It's much stiffer than tyvek.. nylon based, kevlar reinforced sail material.
there is a video the mighty wallet creator made for RFID proofing a wallet like this and it's pretty simple. the flaps you taped shut, that inside cavity, goes through the entire wallet. if you put a rectangle of aluminum foil inside of that cavity then it will make your wallet RFID proof and protect your cards
Hi, Thanks for a great video. Can you tell me what thickness of tyvek you use please? I have found sheets from 55 to 105 gsm. I'd like to do full prints on the paper before so presume a thicker gsm would be better?
OK so WARNING!!! DO NOT try to laser print on tyvek. After watching this video I thought I could print a sweet map on tyvek. Turns out laser printers MELT Tyvek! Yikes. Huge paper jam that took me 40 minutes to clear. Now my print quality is kinda bad. Other than that, this pattern/tutorial is great. Just DON'T put it through the printer.
Do you have any suggestions for a tyvek alternative, because it's pretty hard to come by here. p.s. Have you used your laser printer on tyvek, because the manufacturer says it can melt inside your printer etc.
Hi thank you for sharing with us, I was able to make a wallet in about 5?!.. minutes... That's great design and simple way of making it! I just wonder if you have thought about model where cards are vertically placed and it is as wide as US bills actually, well may be little wider / that would be great option too something similar to Bellroy Note Sleeve Wallet I know it wont have as many options as Note Sleeve Wallet, but just an idea of type of the wallet I am looking for.. But hey thanks man for the one you shared I am already using it!
Hello, I really enjoyed your video, but i needed a wallet that can hold a little coins or some stuff, so can you make a wallet with a pocket for coins? Thanks :D
An easy way to do that with the current design is to only cut half a circle for the cards, rather than a full circle. That way when you open the wallet up, one side has a card slot and the other side is just square. You can keep coins in the square side and when you fold it, they will not fall out.
it's the same principle really, but instead of following his lines you just fold it in half. It's a good idea, however to make the outside edges a little smaller, because the pocket are just (0,5 - 1 cm) to small to fit my (Beglian) ID

This is exactly the paper wallet I was looking for. Thank you for the time and effort you put into this design!!!
You sir have earned 100,000,000 internet points! Thank you so much for this! Saved me infinite dollars.
Fantastic instructions. Clear and concise THANK YOU for the template as well!!!
Thank you! I love that it's smaller than the commercial one. Thank you for the template, too!

Thanks so much for this! Today we made this in my after-school class (3rd-5th graders) and they loved it and the wallets turned out awesome :)

Also, can i add a layer of wax or something else on the top layer so it stays mint?
que bonitas quedan , por favor donde consigo ese papel , aquí enncolombia no lo encuentro por ningún lado

Put time stamps on the video please. It's as easy as putting them in the description and enabling some options.

qual a gramatura do papel?

Jason Parker for anyone that is looking to print onto the tyvek purchase 105gsm paper as the other sheets are too thin and show the print through.
how do you add your own design to the empty template?
killer design! but couldn't I cut the top 1/4 of paper off of the sheet? that would make it even lighter/slimmer. Right?

Hey I'm having a hard time getting my hands in some tyvek so I'm gonna go with a plain A4 sheet.
Any recommendations about grammage?
Thanks!

You can try wallpaper, it's strong and some kinds are waterproof

EVERYTHING cpo Thanks :D
Genius!!
Thanks! Simple and effective. I have been still carrying that USPS wallet for almost a year!
Can you also make a template for A4 paper?

Tried printing w/ a laser printer. Heat in the process melted and jammed the paper. My printer survived. Great wallet design. Just skipped printing.
Laser printer melted tyvek onto printer rollers. Got it cleaned off but what a pain. Love the wallet but beware laser printing.
Damn, I doubt it will fit the moths that are normally kept in my wallet :)
It takes hoursssss..... To finish this tutorial... And im out of here....
Informative but so slow and repetitive
