I feel like sometimes people mistake that ‘Rasp’ for him not being able to vocally perform whereas he was actually intending to have that rasp. Whether y’all like him or hate him, he is obviously successful for a reason. He has a different kind of voice that most people aren’t used to with pop music so it’s easy to shoot it down, but he is obviously talented and seems to be improving as a vocalist.
The main reason he's famous is because teen girls think he's pretty though, but I really do like. His voice that being said and have a few of his songs on my phone. Though the coach is haggling, as long as he sounds good I've got no issues.
He isn’t hating on Shawn, he’s a vocal coach and is just giving feedback. Shawn is amazing, but there’s always something to improve. Just because he is giving feedback doesn’t mean he’s hating or saying he’s singing bad, it’s just feedback that could make it even more amazing.

Well remember shawn was sort of finishing up with puberty too, so it has effects on his voice, he also had a sore throat too. If you compare his voice to now in 2019, it sounds very different from in that performance. (Now it's more mature with less cracks in his voice)

If you really knows how Shawn delivers his songs, you'll notice that he changes his technique in some songs to get the feel. In this song, I feel like he wants to have a sense of rock.. So he pushes it instead of belts it in the chorus to create the rasp, because he doesn't have it naturally in his voice. That high notes 'baaack' at the end proves that he can reach the notes with different technique. In Where were you in the morning, he uses lots of falsetto to create the 'one night stand' effect, while in Senorita he sounds a little bit husky, unlike him normally, to create the 'seducing' effect. Can't wait for the VMAs, hope he will sing with same voice live.. You should make video reaction of VMA.
No I love shawn. But we really need to remember that he started by posting cover. He is self trained, he never learned to control his chords, but he has a hevenly voicecand his way of singing is really raw and appealing. Its alright if he makes mistakes, but adam was right he needs to learn to control his chords its really bad for his throat,in the long term too. But that high note even with a sore throat. He is a complete angel.

I saw a lot of comment saying something like " hating on shawn for 7 minutes straight cuz he is jealous" .... so i only wanted to say that he is a vocal coach he is supposed to critcize the way singers perform vocally , so if Shawn has a bad technique it's fair to say the truth , and btw even if shawn had a sore throat we all can tell that generally he hasn't a proper technique even though he is improving . Btw i don't hate Shawn instead i love him and how much effort he puts in singing but commenting this shit just piss me off . This was nice to see. Most reaction channels tend to gloss over the mistakes and only focus on the good. I love Shawn and while people don't like to see the mistakes their idols make, they still happen. I've definitely noticed his tendency to go to heavy with his voice like you said and it definitely causes him to miss notes. I'm pretty sure I've seen a video of him even saying that, that he's so used to just singing loudly and he needs to focus more on technique. He seems to do better at small venue or acoustic stuff where it's easier to focus on that. My completely non professional opinion obviously, but I just appreciated that you pointed this stuff out.
Also, if you feel like it you should look into a band called Before You Exit. They're not very popular, but they're very talented. I've never found any reactions to them and since you comment on the good and the stuff that needs improvement I'd like to see your thoughts. I'd love to see what you think of one of their covers (my current favorite is Happier by Ed Sheeran), but a live video would be better in the sense that it's unedited. Whatever you think would be better. Hope you decide to check them out and can't wait to see what you think if you do!

It's not perfect if there are bad things to point out. His voice is pretty good but his lack of healthy technique really holds him back and will cause a rapid decline in his voice as the strain he does on a lot of high notes however I do think he is a pretty darn good singer.

The only upsetting performance at the jingle bell ball was ellie goulding performance. I think goulding had a few too many drunks that performance. My personal favorite performance was halsey singing closer. I thought the slower pace and quiet audience made the performance very intense.
Please do a video on headvoice next. And we don't want some description of what head voice is. There are way too many videos explaining it already. In the past year i have managed to build my foundation and now i can sing on pitch and with support up to a g4 (i can hit an A4 but its not pretty😂) however i can't sing in headvoice for shit. If he won't learn proper technique and how to support his voice to sing with comfort he's gonna lose his voice pretty soon. Especially when he is just 20 this year and started when he wasn't even 18. Only last high note was on point and he should always sing high notes the way he sang this one.

If he won't learn proper technique and how to support his voice to sing with comfort he's gonna lose his voice pretty soon. Especially when he is just 20 this year and started when he wasn't even 18. Only last high note was on point and he should always sing high notes the way he sang this one.
