@Red-mn9bh I agree. My ancestors were cotton farmers and weavers as far as I know. We spoke Gujarati but our dialect was different (now it’s lost).

Hello I am Sinti from Germany means a direct descendent of the Rai and later Chach Dynasty. Sindh has always been royal. Since Alexander the great or the vedic Texts of Jains and Hindus also mentioned Sindhi Royals before the Arabs. I am happy that the Chachnamah exists, so we have something in the hand ✋🏽. Sindh was also Multiple Times conquered. Sindh alwaYs existed. Chachnamah is a good book to work with.

Although it might sound unusual, it’s essential to address the widespread misunderstandings about how timelines are calculated.

its based on accepting the chinese claims of birth of buddha. rejecting the claims on indian and sinhalaese canon. guptas themselves used a calendar that started in 319 CE. also, there was a gradual progress of brahmi from mauryans to kushanas to guptas. gupta calendar was used by odia kings until the invasion of shasanka. how do you explain harshvardhan whose gradfather married a gupta princess? ashoka made greek inscription in kandahar.

Actually, western historians connect the Greek Sandrocottus and Indian Chandragupta maurya as the same person, fitting later dynasties accordingly. The popular theory is that right after 326 BC, Sandrocottus became the king of Magadha. But this Sandrocottus might have been a different Chandragupta or even Samudragupta, not necessarily the Maurya one.
Greek sources mention that Sandrocottus took his army of 600,000 people and roamed around India, conquering vast parts of lands. This description fits more on Samudragupta, as he was known to the undefeated general. Meanwhile Maurya didn't really need to roam around with a vast army and unify land as he obtained an already unified kingdom from Dhananand. Another point is that Greek texts of 326BC do not mention Chanakya at all, meanwhile indian Puranas don't mention Porus or Purushottam at all. So there could have been a mix up between Sandrocottus, Samudragupta and Chandragupta Maurya. Which will move the history of Mauryas back by 700 years, I.e 1000 BC.
Another thing is, megasthnese in Indica mentioned that he saw the dynastic lineage of magadha kings going back to some 3100 years. So it is not unlikely that there were already Maurya like kingdoms in the Gangetic-Sindhu plains.
I'm a casual viewer so the dates mentioned might be a little off. I'll try to provide the name and link of the said podcast.

Music was patronaged by These Kings and predecessor and whole South was rule 200 years by them... It spread to both the Coastal areas.... @@John_O_Connor A people is defined by its customs, cultural practices, language, attire, beliefs (religion among them), region, ancestry (genetics and history). One CANNOT, i stress CANNOT define a peoples simply by religion. A people today defined as “Sindhi” are referred to as such because many of the markers so mentioned above, put them in that category. One can subcategorize them further into “Lasi” (as those “Sindhis” from Lasbela district of Balochistan province), or by caste (tribe, if you will) such as Bhatia or Rajput. Still one define a Sindhi by most of the community traits, language and dialect CHIEFLY among them.
But the other FUNDAMENTAL POINT, to which I was alluding to in my FIRST message, was that before the advent of a Sindhi Muslim or Sindhi Hindu (both of which can reside on EITHER side of the modern Indo-Pak political border), is the question of WHO were the “Sindhis” BEFORE they were so termed as such. Sindhi is a LANGUAGE as much as it is a community, NOT bound by a political border but my a language, customs, and common history. It’s the ANCESTRY, which I am speaking of. If we simply go with religion, then that is an absolutely terrible metaphor and cultural assassination of a community which existed well before modern syncretic Hindu beliefs, and certainly WELL ahead of Muhammad and his followers from the 7th century AD.
We probably have to break down a community by language and when Sindhi first appeared as a language. That it came from a Prakrit, has been documented. It did not just “pop up” in the 9th century AD from Perso-Arabic influences. But who were the people who spoke the early Prakrit predecessor language to Sindhi? Are they more closely related ancestral to the invading Andronovos or the BMAC migrants? Are they more related to the early Harappans?
More work has to be done to define this community rather than based upon historical events or modern religious beliefs. Language is a GOOD start.
