@@marliecep as far as i can remember there was a decent-sized backlash on social media regarding the relationship, especially from some older viewers, but the showrunner i. marlene king defended it, and kept introducing more & more creepy age-inappropriate “relationships” between teens & adults on the show. unfortunately, the younger viewers ate it up for the most part. but i think you’re right that people are more aware of the problem with these types of relationships nowadays & are less willing to romanticize them.
