I had cataract surgery in Nov 2021. My right eye. The lens I can read, but the cornea after I went back 2 weeks ago, doctor said cornea is swollen. I use the cortisone drops 2 times a day, the swelling goes down if I am not on PC, and or watch Television. I wear sunglasses when I am outside except at night. It still hurts from time to time, and I have a feeling because I have FUCHS disease, this will turn into a nightmare! I should have not had this surgery!

    Hi
I have this same exact issue my doctor have said to do some test and changed some medication but for now he had put a lens over my (ACIOL) treated eye. For 3 week
    My question is
What will lens do to my already troubled eye.
    What are the precautions

Is it suggested to continue the use of a sodium hydrochloride solution even after bullous keratopathy has occurred as a result of corneal ulcers and corneal dystrophy?

I had my Cataract surgery yesterday and my vision is blurry. Day 1 postoperative visit, surgeon mentioned that there is a swelling in cornea which is causing this bluriness and it will reduce in a week’s time. I trust my surgeon just wanted to know if it is normal

How is it going now? Did it improve or not? If it did when? How long did it take?
I also had a cataract surgery done last week and so far no improvement whatsoever. In fact my vision is worse now than it was before the operation.
Please if you can respond. I'm desperate here.

      Vision improved after 2 weeks.
It is better to check with your eye doctor in case if you are not seeing improvement. Hope it goes well for you. Unfortunately outcome for each patient is different.

@@muralia4071 First of all thank you for responding back. Today has been exactly a week since my operation and I'm so scared. I went back to my eye doctor 3 times now including the day they took the eye protection thing that you get after the operation, sorry I don't know what's called in English. It's not my native language. And every time they said it's ok, it will take time due to the swelling of the corneal, most likely a month. But I'm sure you know the more time passes, the more you think it's not going to go away.
Do you remember how it got better? I mean one day you woke up and good vision? Or was it like a small step each day?
Thank you for the wishes, hope it goes well. And I'm sorry if I bothering you, but I'm really scared. I know people around me how had the exact operation at the same clinic and doctors and no problems for them.

@@m-copyright it was improving slowly after a week. Improvement in vision was gradual. I totally understand your situation. I have been in that situation last year. Only hope is our doctors. My cataract surgeon did his best to save my vision. Please follow the instructions provided by your doctor and give it some time. If it is not improving after a week then better to check with doctors again. I am just sharing my own experience.

@@muralia4071 Thank you, thank you. I'm following every single one of them. Taking care of my eye, taking all the medication drops, doing everything they said. I know I'm talking to someone who has been in the same situation so I don't need to repeat this, but it's scary. Especially when I know family members and friends went there, had the same operation and none of them had a problem. Not even a small one. Until me.
Once again thank you for taking the time to respond to me and answer my questions.
I'm a little more calm now.

my father has just been diagnosed with corneal edema and had cataract surgery four months ago and was experiencing blurred vision but thought it was due to still recovering from the surgery but now we know it wasn't. He's going to see the specialist in few weeks. My question is can he use saline drops to see if his vision improves a little or not do anything until he sees the doctor? and if so what kind of saline drops can he use? Thank you!

For our patients with corneal edema after cataract surgery, if the edema is not improving we may have them use muro 128 drops to see if it will improve the swelling. If not, then they may need a corneal transplant to improve vision. I hope your father gets some improvement! Thanks for the question.

    • @lizbeth1868

Isaac Porter, MD and the muro 128 drops are prescribed by the specialist and not over the counter correct?

2 years after toric lenses were installed in both eyes...the right eye is near perfect but the left had glaring and blurriness soon after surgery. multiple prescriptions of lubricating eye drops had no effect....then several bottles of saline eye drops also had no effect. its been 2 years....maybe a little worse now. what options do i have?

In past 5 years I have gone through 3 major surgery in my right eye.
    1. ICL operation(2015)
    2. Cataract surgery (2017)
    3. Trabuculectomy for glucauma (2019)
Now doctor told my eye suffered by bullous keratopathy . I wore therapeutic contact lens from past 4 months but after removal of lens pain held in my eye moving downward or right side.
My question is if in future surgery require for bullous keratopathy then is it feasible for the eye to have 4th operation?
