its a prick tease you wait for the full song and it never arrives, ive seen them numerous times ,and i really love them,it can be the most amazing thing or really really annoying sometimes.but when its right you'll never want to be anywhere other at that point in life
Best concert experience since my first in 1978 (Day on the Green #3 with AC/DC with Bon Scott!). The Flaming Lips opening for Beck was magic, they were magic, their music, their energy, the entire show with the giant inflatables with them in them and the rabbitt and what all heads. Their music always takes me to that experience. Golden.
My history teacher in high school whipped out an acoustic guitar one day and played this song for us. (With zero context.) After he was finished, a kid behind me requested Kids by MgMt. My history teacher's eyes glared into that boy's soul and said "Do you have any idea what that song is about? I absolutely will not." Still don't understand what happened.
@@arroys8345 there are different interpretations. the most likely one to provoke a comment like that is the one about abusive parents and the kid being screwed up as a result and then either ending their own life or deciding not to have any children so as not to pass down the hurt.
So I searched for a video of a live performance of this song in which his voice wasn't all cracked but couldn't.. So I guess he's just not a live singer really
I love Wayne, but his voice is so...unreliable. Maybe an operation would help. It does sound great. When it works properly. And in a recording studio with the benefit of many takes. But live, he makes me nervous... Still love him though!
Nobody can sing a song like they did 20 years in a studio. At least not without autotune and a backing track. The sharp edges and splinters are what allows the spontaneity in tonality and timing.
Flaming lips. Cool band. Probably one of the worst frontmans ever. Right next to angus. Lmao. I’m not hating or anything. Great band. An example of a good frontman is rik emmet from triumph. The skill level of a good frontman. Is a huge contrast in my opinion. Take another good one. Geddy lee. A genius. This guy aged like Limburger cheese spread.
Can you really authentically bring joy to the audience with your bass player celebrating a murderous regime that out-Hitlered the Nazis when it comes to mass atrocities?
this version brings tears to my eyes everytime i hear it
i have a friend battling cancer right now and this song makes me feel for her ..
Was gonna say the same thing. This song and fight test. Tears dude
Best wishes for your friend's recovery bro
Tapping in late to wish good vibes. I hope Yoshimi helped!
So sorry hope he recovers

The positive vibration frequency from the video is overpowering,
Appreciators of beautiful music are mostly beautiful people
Really? I noticed a lethargic audience and band.

How possible I have never heard such a magical song in 20 years.... now I cannot stop hearing this song.
I saw them live during this album’s tour over a decade ago. What a tribute to humanity this whole album is! ❤🙏

It's worse today
It can only get better from here, right? Right?

herm, what is that song about then ?
Magically both of those songs were recorded at the same studio by the same producer.

so does anyone know what the bubble on his guitar is for?
+ODOYEL224 For your visional enjoyment..... and maybe for wind protection..... and probably because it's The Flaming lips and that how they do.
most likely to isolate the sound hole on the acoustic so it can be more pronounced in the mix live is my guess. or ita cuz they are weirdos.
ODOYEL224 its to contain magical powers
ODOYEL224 for kicks.
Maybe it's to keep his outfit off of the strings?
Any chance of re-upping the whole set? (the link above doesn't work)
Check out Josh Turner Guitar's cover. Awesome as well!!!

Anyone know this was written after 911. Look at the album cover and you'll see the twins. Makes this song now make more sense now doesn't it?
Where are the twin towers on the album cover
