As an old acquaintance once said before she left to go join the dearly departed .....most of the fish around Shoalwater Bay and Stanage Bay have not even seen a fishing hook so the trip you have completed was awesome.. I've fished Stanage a couple of times and some areas are still not fully explored...👍👍👍👍👍
I grew up in the Whitsundays and shoal water bay is one on my bucket list i left the Whisundays in 97 so many southerness moved their and changed the whole place to a rat race back then ....
Absolutely brilliant Greg! I’m yearning to do a trip along similar lines. Trips like this aren’t easy & you need thorough planning & plenty of guts to see it through. Never seen that side of it up there in the skinny sections at the head of the creeks, thanks so much for taking us along with you & providing a ton of inspiration. Cheers!
Once again Greg you've kept us enthralled !! What a brilliant place to go fishing. Thank you for all your effort in making these video. It's much appreciated !! Until the next video, tight lines !! Cheers ... Dave.
Great vid mate. A tip with the sandfly bites. I suffer badly from them too and the best thing I’ve found to treat the bites is a hot coffee/tea. Stir it with a tea spoon and then touch the hot teaspoon to the bite. The heat neutralizes the itch and stops it blistering. Obviously keep the teaspoon cool enough that it doesn’t inflict actual burns but as hot as you can handle. Works every time. 👍
Best video i have watched of yours mate 👏👏👏👏 The clarity in video scenes The drone footage The scenery Wow 😮 It aint always about the fishing But Where it takes you Loved it Cheers
At 24:12 a turtle stuck it's head out to see what's doing when you hooked that Barra. Some nice creeks there but midges, not camping with them ever again.
Mate great videos, what an absolute treat it must be to venture into these remote areas. Also grab yourself some magnesium tablets for the cramps best thing I’ve discovered especially when your out on long physically demanding adventures.
Hey mate, I talked a bit about it in the part 1 video. The dirt road into stanage was terrible at the time I was heading up so Roslyn was a better option.
That's awsome Gregy what a mad trip mate and how's them shows of Barry's from the drone 👌 ps I thing old mate dingo was calling in the pack for a snack on your old chicken legs to champ he would of smelt you a mile away 🤣👌
Thanks mate it was an insane trip I will remember for ever. Hahaha he totally was tracking me down. I'd say he was close by when he stopped howling and was probably watching me lol.
15:40 sounded like u were recording ur jail time in that bit, “lits of mozies, nearly empty on spray, I’d like to get out of here tonight, I don’t have to long
You should carry some Electrolytes with you, great for cramps. Can get them in a tablet form at your chemist. Spent 20 years in the Army and fishing is a far better way to occupy your time in Shoalwater Bay than playing silly buggers running around the bush.
Epic trip, you've definitely got an eye for capturing interesting footage. Get sick of seeing the same tired rubbish from blokes that have run out of ideas, going on a trip like that solo and exploring those upper creeks in croc country takes a fair bit of intestinal fortitude. Well done mate
A very 'Malcolm Douglas' style to this feature. This clip gets the win as my favourite GWF episode.
Thanks mate and it's exactly what it reminded me of while I was there. Looking forward to doing similar trips in the future. Thanks again mate

Amen brother....we just can't keep our great fishing spots to ourselves anymore....... well tight lines and go explore Stanage Bay you will love it.
As well as Shoalwater Bay ...that place is awesome.
It's certainly one very special place and due to it's remoteness I can't ever see it changing
crikey Greg, you are a wild man legend. Suggest load up on Hydralyte salts before and during to avoid dehydration cramps.
hahaha thanks mate. Cheers
Well done on the fish. You earnt it with the effort you put in.
Thanks heaps mate.

Thanks heaps mate and yeah you're right. It's a huge effort but well worth it when it all comes together. Cheers mate.
Thanks for taking us on the trip, Greg. Loved your commitment to the creek. Slow down and enjoy, give or take the sand flies.

Mate great videos, what an absolute treat it must be to venture into these remote areas. Also grab yourself some magnesium tablets for the cramps best thing I’ve discovered especially when your out on long physically demanding adventures.
thanks mate it was on hell of an adventure. Yeah I carry magnesium tablets on me and should have taken them before bed to avoid the cramping at night.

Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it. Cheers for the support
Hey Greg, just subscribed. Get yourself a THERMACELL
Awesome piece of kit.
Bunnings have them.
Sandflies hate them...
Cheers mate. Yeah I really wished I had taken one and it will be on board for future trips. Cheers
Sorry mate nice video but I couldn’t help myself with the first comment. I’m gunna have to head that way for a trip. Looks epic.😊
Haha you're a worry mate lol. Wicked part of the world up there mate. Pity it's so far to go but
@@gregswickedfishing Thats what makes it so good.
Hey mate I live in yeppoon and just wondering why you didn’t launch from stanage bay? A long trip from Roslyn bay
Hey mate, I talked a bit about it in the part 1 video. The dirt road into stanage was terrible at the time I was heading up so Roslyn was a better option.
How good was that!! thanks
Thanks mate glad you liked it. Cheers

@@gregswickedfishing cheers mate looks very comfortable. capable boat
Take bushmans gel/ cream or there's a natures owns cream which works well. Yes a good net would ne better.
Do yourself a favour mate and put some lights on your boat best thing you will ever do 👌
hahahha
A silly question from a geographically challenged Alaskan. Are there no crocs in that part of Australia?
Yes mate as I mentioned in the video they're not super common in that area but they are there.
You should carry some Electrolytes with you, great for cramps. Can get them in a tablet form at your chemist. Spent 20 years in the Army and fishing is a far better way to occupy your time in Shoalwater Bay than playing silly buggers running around the bush.
Cheers mate I normally take magnesium tablets but just didn't realise how dehydrated I was.
Did anyone else spot the crocs in this video or is it just me?
Timestamp? I was looking too
Do you mean the white ones on my feet ? lol

Thanks for the kind words Steve, its much appreciated mate. Glad you enjoyed it mate and thanks for the support. Cheers
Get rid of those treble hooks.
There's many reasons trebles are the better option for this style of fishing.
