- PART 2 - Join me on an epic 5 day journey in to the remote Shoalwater Bay region living onboard my 5 metre centre console plate boat. In this episode I explore the remote creeks and walk inland to check out freshwater billabongs before fishing the saltwater creeks where I find an insane pocket full of fish. Catching Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Queensland Groper, Cod and Fingermark while listening to a dingo howl for hours on end around me. Opting to leave from yeppoon and drive the boat 120km up the coastline to avoid driving the dirt road into the Stanage bay. It turned into a trip of a lifetime.

Great vid mate. A tip with the sandfly bites. I suffer badly from them too and the best thing I’ve found to treat the bites is a hot coffee/tea. Stir it with a tea spoon and then touch the hot teaspoon to the bite. The heat neutralizes the itch and stops it blistering. Obviously keep the teaspoon cool enough that it doesn’t inflict actual burns but as hot as you can handle. Works every time. 👍
Old boys told me about bruit deodorant..the stick one..stops bites and itch.... been a success for yrs
Absolutely brilliant Greg! I’m yearning to do a trip along similar lines. Trips like this aren’t easy & you need thorough planning & plenty of guts to see it through. At 24:12 a turtle stuck it's head out to see what's doing when you hooked that Barra. Some nice creeks there but midges, not camping with them ever again.

Epic trip, you've definitely got an eye for capturing interesting footage. Get sick of seeing the same tired rubbish from blokes that have run out of ideas, going on a trip like that solo and exploring those upper creeks in croc country takes a fair bit of intestinal fortitude. Well done mate
