I honestly think Jinx was planning to die on this fight. And that’s what she meant last episode “to finish what’s left of my family”. And end it with a spectacle of colorful smoke all over Piltover. Particularly because she screamed “this isn’t how it was supposed to happen” when Savika triggered the smoke explosions over Piltover
She wanted to give Vi AND Cait the closure of killing her and bringing her to justice, knowing her death would solve almost all the current problems between Piltover and Zaun. The problem is, she couldn't bring herself to make Isha stay away, because she couldn't imagine a world where Isha holding Vi at gunpoint could EVER occur. Isha truly was the 'tiebreaker' in this fight, the one person who wouldn't benefit from Jinx's death and couldn't bear to see her go.
Yeah, Powders been trying to die since E7 of last season. Each time she gets more blunt about it, but shes not gotten to the point of just pulling the trigger on herself. This whole thing was basically an elaborate attempt at suicide-by-cop.
"Black Rose" isn't Arcane changing the name of "shadow assassins". The Black Rose is a Noxian organization founded by LeBlanc in LoL. Also, shadow assassin is associated with Ionia, not Noxus, as far as I know.
I don't actually think Caitlyn was aiming for Jinx's finger, if you watch during the fight her gun had been glitching out, possibly from whatever was going on with the wild rune and the source of the magic. I don't actually think her aim was as perfect as usual there, and even if it was and she had the perfect shot, it would've blown through both Isha and Jinx's heads.
Yeah, she's a great shot but people conveniently forget her bullets explode now. Had Vi let her take the shot at all- even she DID hit Jinx- Isha would have been caught up in it regardless.
u can tell from the way vi says "im done pretending you're my sister, you're not" that she's trying to convince herself of something she doesn't entirely believe in. she's doing this out of guilt towards cait and tried to stop as soon as jinx held isha as she sees her sister in jinx again. u can even see vi struggling after jinx says "im glad it's you, had to be you". knowing that youre the reason as to why ur sister wants to kill herself, harbors so much self loathing, and even wants to die by your hand... oof
I don't think Elora (Mel's assistant) was a plant, it's more like she was bugged with some sort of trap spell somewhere along the line that was waiting to activate. When looking up-close, there were tears forming in her eyes when the trap had triggered; meaning that she was fully aware of what was happening to Mel but was unable to do anything about it. She could only warn her with her final words. 'Black Rose'.
Technically she could get Jinx without Isha, in what her skills and hex refer to, just as one of her shots could get one single of her fingers completely while the others centimeters away are intact, and we have seen her do effective more difficult shots. The reason why she would have got Isha too is bc she was in a rush thanks to her emotions, there's a huge point every single time Caitlyn shots that she takes a breath before and points at her objective calmly, even in the most dangerous and fast situations, this was the only time we didn't see her do it, bc of how full of rage she was, that's why she was going to fail a shot she's perfectly capable of doing. That said, Vi stopped her simply bc taking a risk like that was enough of a reason, no matter if she's capable or not. It's a way to show Vi's development too, since she was in the exact same position Cait is now back in season 1 ep 8, even by excusing and justifying killing kids, and now that she's in Cait's mindset during that ep, Cait is in Vi's.
something about small details in this episode : - the chant in the song played between the sister fight is a shuriman chant to worship the Janna goddes that they talk about earlier. - ekko most important quote about Piltover/Zaun conflitc : " You said we are equal but whenver it rains, only us getting wet ". - Caitlyn use the system his mom built for the miners to revenger for her. That's poetic in a way. - the pose the character posed in the intro mostly reference famous character from novel and history, it already give you a hint about them.
Cait's mum used the system to bring life to the undercity, to the miners, by giving them breathable air "they deserve to breath". Cait used the system to kill them. That's not poetic imo. She's doing the opposite of what her mum wanted. It shows how far she's gone into her hate.
I thought it was her ancestor who build it But for some reason they didn’t put the vents into action or they stopped maintaining either due to costs or constant fighting between the 2 factions made it unsafe
@@Poke-laddno it wasn’t that long ago, even in Silco’s generation there were still miners getting in constant contact with the grey. These contraption were done during her mom’s life
People have said it was too soon for this Vi vs Jinx fight to take place. However, this is techniclly act 4 in a 6 act story. this feels like the emotional climax between the two main characters of the series. It's so well done and this fight has one of the best songs from Woodkid ever!
Aside from the clear parallels of Cait and Vi with Vi and Powder on season 1, it is also really cool how Cait and Vi switched sides completely here from where they were back in season 1 ep 8, the children victims make it more obvious but it's all in general.
In the previous episode Jinx said her plan was "I'm going to finish what's left of my family". Sevika thinks she means Vi. She actually meant herself as she believes she's already lost Vi.
The fight flashing between Jinx vs Vi and Jayce touching the Arcane is one of my favorite moments in all of Arcane. Ashes and blood is such a good song, the fact that the chant is in Shuriman AND is for Janna takes it to another level for me.
Jacob focuses on the show being "everything goes wrong" as to why vander can't come back in a more substantial conscious way, but this is also a show where jinx literally said last season "nothing ever stays dead"
this phrase haunted my theories so much ! for 3 years i thought it would mean a kind of ghost story with mel and sky. But when i saw the carcass hanging , having theorically had a heart transplant , i saw.
One thing strongly hinted at is the idea that the Arcane balances each of it's actions out. When one person uses the Arcane and wins, another person somewhere close to the Arcane loses. So far that has meant that every time Jayce gets a win, Jinx takes a loss. Jinx thinks she's cursed and it's been portrayed as a mental health issue but in this episode they basically say that no, she actually is cursed.
@@wincent77420 Also note from this season - (Sort of) spoiler but I'll be as oblique as I can - when Jayce gets teleported away, Jinx starts to have a normal(ish) life again. Jinx is fine the whole time Jayce is gone. Actual spoiler but still vague as I can write it - When Jayce comes back and starts using hextech again it's oof after oof for Jinx...... until Jayce stops using hextech entirely, at which point Jinx is free. The whole show is the working through of the spell from season 1 episode 2. I've gone back through it and the rune shape on Jayces wrist is an action performed by all the characters at some point, most often when fighting but you see Ekko fly in that shape over and over when dodging, Vi is tracing it on her palm as she waits for the enforcers etc etc. Even Viktors commune is built in the rune shape, it's everywhere once you know to look for it. The frequency of the rune shape appearing increases every episode.
Caitlyn has the Hugo Boss drip going on. Also Its surprising how many other people dont pick up on that one line Salo says to Ambessa about Caitlyns name "bewitching" people and how right there he fed here that little nugget of info she needed to bring her plans to a new level and completely cut him out.

It was guilt. Caitlyn's mother's death was directly tied to Vi's failure to get through to her sister.
