Once you buy an app in the Apple ecosystem, it can be downloaded again on as many other devices as you want for free, as long as they are signed in with the same Apple ID. Example: if you have 5 Apple TVs in your house, you'd only have to purchase the app once.

I have an hdhr4k and tons of other gadgets. Watching tv without an internet connection has been pretty easy since the 1950s. Can you explain the thrill a different way so I can understand too?

That wasn't the point of the video. The video was made to show that an Apple TV in conjunction with the Channels For HDHomeRun app (separate from Channels DVR server) works to play back OTA TV channels. Technically, since the ADTH Box is Android, you could load the Channels for HDHomeRun app on it, but you would still need an HDHomeRun.

Analog whats the faster. It took longer to load up than an online video.
I didn’t have the Apple TV hardwired with ethernet, which delayed it some. Also, the data had to travel over a LAN, which delayed it even more. Many streaming apps use a combination of CDNs or intelligently downloading a video stream ahead of time to give the illusion of fast load times. As far as the OTA signal is concerned, I’m sure the app developers at Channels could optimize things even more.
