    I can't tell you how happy I am that you continue to upload Joseph's dharma talks. These are my main source of learning, and they've literally changed my life. Thank you.

    Joseph is now in the rotation along with Ram Dass, Alan Watts and Terence Mckenna! These lectures from goldstein are golden.

    This meditation might work for a paper cut, but for me, it would need to be accompanied by IV morphine when wracked by cancer!. You are a real sweetie Joseph but I don’t think you are so naive as to believe this.

      There was nothing in this talk that said you can't do everything possible to ease the pain. He has explicitly advocated for pain management drugs in other talks. The point is to learn to be with the pain that you can't get rid of.

      @annmurphy two things:
      1). Very sorry to hear how much you’re suffering and I really hope you find some relief however it comes.
      2). I’m not an expert on this stuff but have found for every month of consistent practice I put in there is some subtle layer of benefit that’s revealed. I’d be curious to know how long you were able to try it for and did you find any results.

    The first thing that comes to mind when I hear your harsh self-talk is I hope people don’t believe you. I hope they find a kinder and benevolent way to be guided by. That pain you speak of that we’re unconscious of is from trauma. That has to be dealt with by someone trained in healing trauma and restoring the nervous system. That will not happen by labeling ourselves. I hope people don’t believe you and I hope they find real help.

      When the traumatic nervous system trend fades, return to listen. You appear to believe the nervous system is wracked with traumatic events stored up and the solution is to systematically release it all and the system is all as fresh as before birth - And you think Joseph and the Buddhist teachings are deluded.
