He talks about the 810 culture as a whole and not wanting to go back to be that scared child or violent singer the song speaks of him reaching a breaking point and now trying to speak to his audience now as a friend and that he truly does wish the very best for men. He also touches the topic of how the bands dependence on money and making it with that one line was coming from the wrong place. This song shows how all they seek to do now is tell the story of the harsh truth thay their life was and many people's lives in flint. Honestly it's a real tearjerker

I grew up a similair way, well a part in my life that was similair. Everytime i think of people in situations like this i feel nothing but sympothy. growing up i had it all, toys, shower, you name it. After my parents divorced for the second time i was about 14, living with my dad who i never got to see cuz he was out doing stuff working and whatnot, lived in a shitty mobile home, no power, no hot food, cold shower. the cold shower was the only thing good out of that and the cold canned peaches.. that went on for months and i dont think i could have the balls David Gunn had as growing up. after all that i moved in with my step mom and once again i had it all, video games, AC, a warm bed. lost it all again, she kicked me out cuz i couldnt get along with her BF that she cheated on my dad with. i dont have an edjucation now. sorry if that escalated quickly, im an open book.
