    Who has tried Squalane? Please check the links above for an example of what NOT to use. Since some of you were using the supplement form on the face because it was cheaper. This is NOT squalane! Who likes using squalane? Stay tuned for next week product review!

      If you have break out prone skin, Shea butter is not recommended. You are better off with a water dispersible oil that is in a water based product such as as this one:

      The US company Amyris, are producing Squalane with sugar fermentation. Their brand Biossance, and Pipette have this hero ingredient. As well they sell through Appronova to other skincare brands.

      It can help with dry cracked skin. However, if you are using another product for your psoriasis, then I would first consult with your doctor.

    How about Squalene taken as a food supplement? While applying Squalane serum for skin?
    I recently was introduced with these two which are from Japan which is derived from the shark’s liver oil. I read that Japan has long been implementing strict regulations when it comes to preserving the sharks’ population in their natural habitat, the sea, even before the world became so concerned and aware of it.
    Squalene got its name from the shark squalidae. It was first discovered in 1906 by Dr Mitsumaru Tsujimoto, a Japanese chemist, oil and fat researcher. He was researching shark liver oil to finally separate the substance he called Squalene from the oil (named it after the shark Squalidae , a dogfish shark, found in the deepest trenches of Suruga Bay in Japan).
    Squalene in softgels is taken orally as a food supplement which is considered to be rich in Omega-3 with its many benefits for our health like our circulatory system (the heart and the blood vessels) where it acts like a statin and prevents clogged arteries, in our Lymphatic system…it was discovered that it stimulates Macrophages, a type of White Blood Cell, that engulfs dead cells and foreign harmful substances and microorganisms, etcetera. It also has detoxifying and cancer prevention functions with its very high concentration of ALKGS (Alkoglycerols).
    The advantage of taking Squalene from Shark Liver oil is that we get the direct form and it gets easily absorbed in our body as compared to plant-based Squalene which is a derivative or indirect form and needs other substances (vitamins or minerals) before it can be absorbed by the body.
    I have also read somewhere that Squalene is not for topical administration hence the development of Squalane which is derived from Squalene. As you have mentioned in this video, thank you for the clarification.

      Hi Mehak, thank you for watching! Sulphate based cleansers can dry out the skin by stripping the acid mantle of the skin. If you have overactive sebaceous glands, when your skin is stripped from its natural oils, it will over produce oils and can cause acne. You need a cleanser that will cleanse your skin without stripping your skin, a good exfoliator to help skin cell turnover and a water based moisturizer that uses a water dispersible occlusive agent like this one: goseechristybeauty.com/collections/moisturizers/products/hydrating-gel-treatment

    UV is not a radical. UV light can create radicals however.

      yes. But if we are going to get technical, UV Rays create Free radicals that brings on oxidation.

    There’s a huge debate in a Facebook group now saying that squalene or squalane is a chemical and that it is not a plant oil plant gel or plant extract. The shark oil which is squalene isn’t derived from a plant. Due to the hydrogenation in squalane would that make it now a chemical? I have no idea what this group is talking about and it’s such a debate because people in this group cannot use plant oil plant gel or plant extract on their skin yet they say that squalane or squalene is completely safe to use because it is a chemical. I wanted your opinion.

    • @GoSeeChristy
      @GoSeeChristy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Always learning, thank you for sharing this. Shark oil is very rarely used because it is much cheaper for it to be derived from plants. Just like HA, it was first derived from roosters comb and now they just manufacture it. Since I cannot read the statements, I cannot agree or disagree.

    What could cause Vanicream w/ HA + Ceramides to burn though?? It was burning around the mouth area. I had this happen with elf holy hydration (fragrance free) as well. Also got pustules/comedones so I’m really confused on what product in either would cause that??
    Note: I have no issues with Hyaluronic acid or ceramides (they’re in other products of mine - never had issues; heard they could be the burning but I don’t think so).
    Could it be the squalane??

    • @GoSeeChristy

      I looked up the ingredients list and pentylene glycol (although not an irritant for most skin types) can be a mild irritant when applied near the mucosa areas. It is a solvent.

    You say "oxygen free radicals (cut) such as UVA and UVB"... well those are not radicals, just two regions of UV radiation. Was there a bit cut out? Did you mean to give an example like OH radicals and then mention that squalene is sensitive to UV radiation?

    • @GoSeeChristy
      @GoSeeChristy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that may have been an edit mistake. UVA rays age the skin and UVB burns the skin . Can u give me the time stamp where this happens in the video? Thank you.

    • @MaxromekWroc
      @MaxromekWroc 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      1:27. I do research in uptake of OH radicals on squalane and squalene surfaces, so I was interested in what they are actually used for in cosmetics
