Soy de Brasil e me gusta mucho el sonido de este ritmo. Cumbia no es tan conocido en Brasil y el más "próximo" me parece ser el calypso desde la provincia de Pará e Amazonas. Aprecio la cumbia desde que visité a Colombia e Argentina donde este ritmo es muy popular. No conocía la cumbia rebajada. Se nota q es mas lento e mas facil de comprender. Muy bueno!

It's not screwed up fam, cumbias rebajadas were a thing that started in Monterrey way before DJ Screw and the Screwed Up movement in Houston.
Screw music started in early 90s.
Rebajadas started in late 70s.

@@ecmartinezonthebeat1215 Sonido Dueñez recorded the first cumbias rebajadas mixtape in 1992 so it wasn't "way before" chopped & screwed in Houston. Plus it's always silly to argue about how things like this develop and who did what first because that's just not how things actually happen. They're both distinct styles that also have a lot in common and amazingly both were happening in different parts of the world at around the same time! And all before the internet!

Dueñez was already playing slowed down cumbias since way before he released the mixtape, he used to do shows in the hoods so that's how the sound was spreading. Before he even dropped slowed down mixtapes, people were already jamming to cumbias slowed by messing up the batteries or messing up their boomboxes/stereos to give it that slowed down effect to emulate the Dueñez sound. My pops and uncles were in that scene in Monterrey since back in the 80s and they're the ones that would tell me how it used to go down back then.
I'm sure someone else was slowing down music somewhere else in the world, but i was just clarifying that this isn't screwed. @@bjordsfjord
