Shiny rate was awful for me! Spent the whole day searching and ended up with 6 shinies after catching thousands. I regret buying the ticket
i'm pretty sure it was bugged, i got nothing the first 3 hours but after that i ended up with 18 and so far today I've gotten 10 in 2 hours

Caught 4 yesterday.... Caught 2 shiny within the first 5 minutes Day 2, nothing since.
I got 1 out the entire gofest and it was during a research task
Even though the announced wild spawns were not that interesting, I ended up buying the ticket because I was hoping for some boosted shiny odds. Sadly, after playing the whole day 1 and only ending up with only 1 shiny after 600+ catches, I gave up on day 2. This for sure was a disappointment...

i easily caught thousands of pokemon over the weekend and i got one shiny as a non-ticket holder. The incredible thing is most people ive talked to that bought the ticket had essentially the same awful shiny-rates. All in all im happy i didnt buy the ticket it was a waste for the money it cost. Niantic need to step up their game if this is supposed to be the best event of the year
I caught 1300 Pokémon while checking more and got 25 shines
I bought the ticket, played 12 hours combined, incense going the whole
Time too, and got 7 shinies, I’m pretty happy bc I wanted shaymin too but seeing how good last years was and how many shinies other people with similar circumstances got I am a bit upset, I caught/seen around 1,200 pokies.
That was a really fun way to cover your Go Fest experience. It's so sweet that you and your Mom play together too. I also love Phineas the dog. He looks so sweet and cute. You're both so lucky to get that Shiny Axew. I did so many Axew raids and checked nearly all of wild Axew and none of them were Shiny. I still enjoyed Go Fest though. As frustrating as the quick despawning was, I still ended up with eleven Shiny Pokemon on Day 1 and eight on Day 2, which is a lot better than I was expecting, especially when I wasn't able to go out that much this weekend. Plus, I got a few Shiny Pokemon that I really wanted like Buizel and Numel. I still have some issues with the event, particularly not telling people about the boosted incense when stationary for ticket players and the raid choices left something to be desired too, but I still enjoyed the event and basically did everything that I wanted to do too.
Love the way you did your GOFest day one video. Different from all the other content creators so it’s so much more enjoyable to watch. Shiny rates were decent for me but I only got 14 the first day and got 2 the second. Hope your second day went well.
I also think that the expectation that the shiny rate is going to be anywhere close to community day is unrealistic. However, the fact that people payed $15 for an event and got less than 10 shiny Pokémon in 8 hours is extremely disappointing and seems kind of like a rip off. But maybe it’s for a reason and they’re planning something for the event in August.
It seems like you and your mom have such a great time together. You are fortunate to have her .:) My shiny rate was horrible both days - 7 in first 8hrs, 2 in second 6hrs. Worst event for me. Also, the incense spawns disappearing when tapped on. Super lag. BUT nice weather, walked a lot. Just going to have to lower my shiny expectation rate . . . to 0. I got exactly the same...
7 on day 1 and 2 on day 2.
And 2 of my 7 were Bronzor...
But I think that was just a bit lower than my regular shiny rate for day 1 in comparison to the old 6 hour community day...
For me, after the first global event, I learned to set my shiny expectations low.
As a result, each one I get is a bonus, not a target...
Hope everyone enjoys a huge shiny rate in the day 3 event later this year...
Honestly I feel like they messed up the event. Many of my friends got 2 and no more than 5. I was lucky enough to just get 3 and that's all. I was only able to get 3 shinies. I heard of online reports of people checking over 300 and 800 (on reddit btw) and they got 0. I feel like they really mess up with shiny rates this year or something happen because it seemed to just be a little better odds than a normal day of playing. Normally you would have at least 10 pokemon if not maybe around 20 or so. I don't like the first day of go fest. I feel like I got scammed. I am happy of the 3 I got (trapinch, trubbish and groundon) but not happy how the rest of the day went. Also the Shinies I caught were hours apart.
It was super disheartening to check shinies for hours straight without a single shiny. I know it's not a community day shiny rate but this is at the level of scamming. Played for 2 days and got 9 shinies in total. Did 17 axew raids and didn't even get one above 91%. It's like they gave a select few people the correct shiny rates and decided to not turn on the improved shiny rates for the rest of the people.

I love your videos, you’re my number one Pokémon Go creator! Grinder like crazy, shiny checked everything I could and got 11 shinies on day 1 and 3 today. But disappointed with those numbers, was hoping for better shiny rates considering the effort I’ve put into catching. I’ve done as many Axew raids as possible but didn’t managed to get shiny Axew sadly. In general though I had fun!

Saturday was definitely very underwhelming, it did not live up to the hype of the past Go Fests. Go Tour was definitely better, very disappointed with this event. Did they forget to turn on the shiny boost?
Probably they didn't. Played a total of 10 hours both days with 5 shinys and none of them was new. All shinys I've previously caught

One of the major issues was that on third of the total spawns were non-shiny eligible. That is so bad for a ticketed event actually

Great seeing you out enjoying it! Went out with a few friends, and I did not have the best start of the event. Went 3 hours and 50 min before i got my first shiny wailmer. Ended up with eight for the day, where one was groudon from raid. Then i finally got the axew and swinub the second day.

Go fest was actually great for me without the ticket. Got like 8 shinies which is a good amount. Also I think we both got the shiny axew from the same raid at the end yesterday lol

This was my first go fest since 2017, I did have a lot of fun as we were with family all weekend out playing together BUT I did feel the shiny odds weren’t what people expected at all, I got 14 shinies in total, meditite, omanyte & event Pikachu I got doubles of. Everyone else in my family got maybe 2-4 a day after playing the whole 8 hours in a really good spot. Also, the despawning issue was EXTREMELY frustrating, I feel that one of the main points of the ticket was the increased shiny odds incense spawns, but we would see something pop up, go to click on it & it would disappear 😐

Ok 1.30h ago finished GO Fest, so my result is modest but keep in mind lads I was walking on foot for 8h both days and never used an auto catcher and never will.
2.3k Pokemon caught ( was vacuum cleaning all of them xd) 2.6m EXP, 30x shiny, I did over 35-40 raids (lost the count since some did escape, today 2x98% Nihilego) Overall was fun and now need to rest, later might think about pros and cons, clearly, some things could have been improved.
Correct me if I'm being stupid but how did you catch 2.3k pokemon in 2 days with a 1k/day catch limit?
I caught 25 shinies after catching the only Pokémon I wanted(1.3k catches)

@@davidbeauchemin1840 there is no catch limit, even during regular 6h community days I am able to catch around 1.1k. Also just checked inv of yesterday caught Pokemon, so that day alone I caught 1175.

Great video! I got 2 shinys on day 1 and 10 on day 2. Overall a massive disappointment from Kanto Tour and 2020 Go Fest. Hopefully the August Global event, which was part of this ticket, makes up for it!

Tried it after fest on a lower PvP vibrava. Didn't get the legacy move so it's gone now. I still have a 94% I'm waiting to evolve and I'll wait for the move to come back.

Despite of lacking lot of content (event field research, event eggs, prety lame global challange, no bonus for sending, opening gifts, extra special trades) this event turned out to be quite good for me.
Walked 35 km on day 1, got 18 shinies, 8 of them new for me- darumaka, shelmet, buizel, numel, cubchoo, burmy, girafarig.
1 hundo from egg- emolga.
On day 2 mostly focused on raids, anyway I got 6 shinies, including 3 new- Litleo, G. Weezing and 15 minutes before the end Axew.
And of course some new pokedex pokemon- shaymin, torkoal, Nihilego, new Unown B, traded Relicanth.
I refused to get the ticket, even if that means no shiny axew for me... but after 20 km running the full day of yesterday, I got in my second axew, a shiny, so, never settle, always aim for more!

I got 4 total shinies this weekend Grimer, Shelmet, & Trubbish,Trapich. I got quite a few Axew but no shiny . The only thing I would say the ticket was worth for me was the Pancham, Larvitar, Axew, & Shaymin encounters. Other than that it was pretty boring unlike last year to me. They could’ve at least put Rayquaza in the Raids with Kyogre & Groudon. Hell bring back Armored Mewtwo I’m still missing that one . For Go Fest they should really do type hours . Like 10-11 Dark type Pokémon, 11-12 Fairy type Pokémon, 12-1 Dragon type Pokémon, 1-2 Steel type Pokémon, 2-3 fighting type Pokémon, 3-4 fighting type Pokémon, 4-5 psychic type Pokémon, & 5-6 poison type Pokémon. During each hour have 2 legendaries of that type . That would be way more exciting to see an dragon hour where you get encounters with Gible, Axew, Dratini, Bagon, Deino,Dragalge, Dragonaire, Goomy, Jangmo-0,Tyrunt, & Noibat but they would never do that because they want people to struggle & grind to find Dragon type Pokémon 🤦🏿♂️. It would definitely be entertaining tho . If not the entire break most of the types into 30 minutes then that way you could cover almost every type & they wouldn’t have to worry about people spending an entire hour stocking up on dragon, fairy, & steel type Pokémon.

I just started playing before the event but my girlfriend and I got hooked and bought the ticket. I have nothing to compare it to, but we were both happy spending some time together hunting shinies and ended up getting 10 between the both of us. She liked the shiny flower crown pikachu and of course I was happy getting a shiny axew on my first raid.

This was my first Go Fest last time I dont know much about PoGo and I was not playung during Go Fest but vouple months before Go Fest I was playing PoGo and I didnt knew because I was a newbie.. How I beat GO Fest (no, I didn’t buy the ticket):
Main objective was getting Haxorus (a good one if I could). First Axew raid gave me the Platinum Rising Star medal, been working on that one for a while.
After that, I was just grinding Axews in remote raids… until I had to stop to go fillet catfish. I swear I’m not making this up. Once that was done, I went back to grinding, where I caught a 93%, as well as one from Truro, England, which I named CityOfTruro. Fellow train fans will get that reference. Also got invited to a raid where I caught a 91% Rockruff.
Once the Nihilego raids dropped, I decided to get one for the Pokédex. First one I caught was Lv.25 98% and I was happy with that. Didn’t have enough Axew candy, so I stopped until next day.
Next day, I found out about the Nihilego raid bonuses, and could grind some serious XP (I’m not Lv.40 yet, but I’m getting there). Caught ANOTHER 98% Nihilego (Lv.20 this time, same exact stats too), and a 96% Axew after that, and decided to finish grinding Axews first, which led me to catching a hundo.
After that, I ground Nihilego raids for the XP, and am now just under 2M XP away from Lv.40.
So to recap, Platinum Rising Star medal, a hundo Haxorus, two 98% Nihilegos, a 91% Rockruff (still deciding on Midday or Midnight), and 3/5ths of the way to Level 40.
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much out of this weekend, but even with no shinies, I still feel like I came out on top.

I'm glad someone had a somewhat successful go fest! I got 4 shinies throughout the whole 2 days, did 86 raids for Axew and didn't get a shiny either. Thought it was terrible!
I did like 40 axew raids and got none😢 I kept on regretting 3 axews that got away from my map within the plains hours maybe there was one lol but i got 9 shinies overall it was quite fun. Great video anyway. Congrats for the shinies!
Shiny rate was alright both days, I got 15 first day and 12 the second day, compared to everyone else I feel lucky as hell

it did not feel like Go Fest. did not have the same hype and was too early in the year. also thought that you did not get as good pokemons or as much XP as you got before at Go Fest.
The shiny rate was epic for me! I spent the entire day in London in a big spot with gyms and poke stops. I had back to back shinies

Great video! Seeing as people got very few shiny pokemons I can't really complain (but I will) - I got 19 shiny's on day 1 (after 22 km walked on foot and 8+ hours of nonstop play (I didn't eat just had 1 coca cola for the day and it was BURNING outside my face and my neck are really burnt and my feet and back were killing me at the end) and on day 2 I only got 1 shiny. No shiny axew which is sad but anyway. On the bright side I only got like 2 shiny that I already had everything else was new so that's cool. Was hoping for more though...

13 shinies including a 13/13/12 Axew. About over 2 million xp on day 2 by grinding the Nihilego raids during the bonus part of the hour with lucky eggs raking in 40k XP per raid
Congrats on the shiny Axew! Mine ran away (the very first Axew click/wild encounter on Saturday) 😭 But, altogether 66 shinies, quite a few shiny pokedex entries, the only ones i missed are that Axew and Unown. So, mixed feelings 😅
I got 2 shiny Pokémon the whole day. I went into Boston to play in the afternoon but still no luck. My boyfriend got 3 shiny Pokémon. We talked to someone on the train on the way home and he didn’t get many shiny Pokémon either however I did recommend him to watch your TH-cam channel. Boston also had some added stops for the festival by the looks of things. I stacked 6-8 incense at a time and it didn’t help.
I got 13 shinies the 1st day playing 6 hours and 7 shines the 2nd day playing 3 hours. Plus a hundo groudon. It was a lovely 2 days to play here in Arkansas too.
Nice catches there. I got myself 11 shiny for the day, 4 of them were at the last 10 minutes from which 2 of them were exactly one after the other. I'd say I'm pretty satisfied.😁

All my shiny luck went into a shundo Groudon!
I played all day both days and got 5 shinnies. Many people I ran into were reporting the same thing. Shinny rates combined with the lack of axew raids made the festival a 5/10 for me. Last year I commented how I would've paid full price for the event as it was completely worth it, this year I'm on the opposite end.
I would've had no complaints if the $21 resulted in last years Go Fest, this year was worth $5.
Thanks for the great video and I'm glad the event went well for you. It was buggy for me, the worst of which being incense spawns that poofed immediately upon clicking them. I missed many, many opportunities for premium encounters thanks to this. >:\ I've seen similar behavior when quickly catching Pokemon with an autocatcher, but never on normal gameplay. Definitely not worth the $15 for me.
Ticked player here! So far 1 shiny on day one and currently 1 shiny day two with about 5 hours left on the event. Gotta say Shiny rates are so darn low and shiny axew is still avoiding me after 22 raids, but I won't give up hope!
Edit: Day 2 ended up being much better I ended the event with 14 shinies, still can't say the event was perfect but it was much better than day one. I also ended up getting my shiny axew on raid 25! Overall ended the event with 15 shinies.
It might just be me but I feel like the shiny odds were WAY better the past few years. I played for 6 hours in a downtown area with the ticket and got 0 shinnies.
Compared to watching all the previous Go Fest. This just seemed pointless. I stopped playing after using all my raid passes on the second day. Johto tour was 10x better than this event and it’s just disappointing

Without a ticket and with 2 phones I got 6+3 shinies (some cd, rufflet and karrablast) and 16+15 non-shiny axew (2x96%)
Didn't expect that high shiny rates. 29 km walked and about 1000 pokemon caught.
The go fest for mine was just like 😐 sitting at home due to temperature 39 degree.ajd coming out at night 😪
2021 for me was hot Go Fest it was 36-37 in C but on both days I was wearing Jumper and soaking it once a while with cold water just to grind.

12 shinies the first day, a shiny clink 5 minutes before 10 from my breakthrough box! And then 96% shiny axew after 167 raids.. but 12 more shinies on Sunday!
