How wonderful to have this footage, and yes, he was a complete gentleman for doing this. Many people did not take cable access seriously back in the late 80s and early 90s (we had to fight to keep our channels on the air). And thank you for sharing this with us. Dance with nature in peace, David.
I was trying to pin point the time. He was trying to come back at that point. Bird on a Wire is one of my fav movies and I remember being so pleased to see David. What a unique person. Would have been great for him to have done a guest spot in Pirates of the Caribbean!
He did a great job too as a police investigator in Larry Cohen's "Q THE WINGED SERPENT", terrific actor duo with Michael Moriarty. I want that DVD... Great interview.
The thing I found so compelling about the Kwai Chang Caine character was that he was a man of contrasts and contradictions. He' was raised from childhood to be a man of peace and yet when he vengefully kills ( I refuse to call it murder) the emperors nephew he becomes " as human " as any other man. It would've been so easy to portray his character as so done who couldn't be touched by the same passions of so called ordinary men, but the writers in establishing him as a fugitive with a dark past gave the audience something they could connect to.
Problem is he didn't murder the Kings Nephew. He was filled with outrage and throws the spear at the symbol of Injustice. Not knowing the Nephew was behind it! He simply lost control of his emotions and it cost another human life.
I could see a biography done on him. Kevin Spacey I think would be able to really nail him vocal wise and mannerisms as well. He looks a lot like him here. 1989 just under 20 years ago he did the maority of his aging obviously but he looked really well here. Very talented actor. I just hope his death does not over shadow his acting contributions and I feel terrible for his children and wife.
I find it strange Bruce Lee did not study Kung Fu. Yet people compare them to each other. As if he did. Same for saying Bruce Lee was the first to approach Hollywood with the idea. As the creators of Kung Fu had start the idea 5 years before Bruce Lee ever did the Green Hornet. Which is a funny story how Bruce got that part during the audition.

GREAT INTERVIEW ! THURSDAY 11/23/23 NOVEMBER 23, 2023
I think his thoughts on Westerns are actually quite insightful as much as I like Clint Eastwood and it's a shame they make so few of them these days.
I could see a biography done on him.

You are absolutely correct !
He was so right about Westerns ,HORSES and the loss of Americana.
What show was this?
His death is going to be legendary...
Ew
RIP David we will hunt those responsible and make sure they Pay Dearly!!!
Kung Fu 💯 the TV Series 💯 Great Series 💯

Bruce Lee studied Wing Chun Kung Fu under Ip Man. He developed Jeet Kun Do from the principles of Wing Chun Kung Fu.
Why is there no sound?
ur phone is on mute idiot
Carradine or James Cameron ?
I beg to differ with hollywood. The movie Silverado did very well, you just need good writers like Kasden brothers and good directors.
LOL! People are so dense, Cain ATE Able, does the word CANNIBAL need to be EPLAINED? THINK about it!
