Real Time Sunset Sketch- plus a few hints for cheap framing

- I have always avoided sketching sunsets. I was never happy with the results and found the results to be gaudy and over bright. Well there is nothing like practice (and good old-fashioned messing around) to slay a demon and that is what I did! I love muted colours for my art and actually this means that I can also control what goes into a sunset and make it a little easier on the eye.
Come along with me on the journey and see what you think. I also talk a bit about using scraps of paper and some things to consider when framing or presenting your work. Small things but useful if you need to save some money.

this is so good, so many fantastic hits ☺☺
Thank you so much my lovely! D xx
I totally 👍 about cutting the right size that would fit mount and frame. I didn’t bother time to time and regretted it.
Love those lil cards. It’s a lovely gift too. I’ll have a go definitely. 😊
Absolutely! I thought that i was so smart using every little bit of a large piece of paper and then I realised that framing them would cost much more than I had saved in paper! Look forward to hearing how you get on! deb xx
A fantastic tutorial. Thank you💜🌹
Thank you! 😊
I finished this one today-my sunset sky was beautiful. I used some pencil but mostly gouache. thank you. My husband was quite proud of me....
I am so pleased that it worked out well! Nice to make them proud of us occasionally ;-). Deb xx
interesting and helpful....thx
You're welcome! xx
Very effective, can't wait to try it out ❤
Hi Debs, what paper do you use for your one off paintings? Thanks x
Hi Shirley! That one is a Fabriano mixed media paper. About 300gsm by the feel of it. Really worth looking for. I love that it comes in a large sheet and is really quite cheap. Deb xx
@@debbievongrabler-crozier2646 thanks Debs, I will try this x
