Bernard Bresslaw was a comedy actor from the 60's and 70's who played a lot of his roles in the "Carry on" movies. He also did other stuff now and again including the Cyclops in the fantasy movie Krull. I highly recommend that movie if you haven't seen it already.
The writer, David Renwick, was a journalist for his local newspaper before getting into comedy. Some of the absurd things in OFITG come from real-life events that Renwick had to report on; so when Margaret comments that Victor's script isn't credible, it's a little nod to the adage that truth is stranger than fiction. Great reaction as always!
Not only are the characters played by such incredible actors, David Renwick is an absolute writing genius. this show plus Jonathan Creek really are on another level for me. great reaction too.
Joan Plowright was married to Laurence Olivier. He became a lord but she became a dame in her own right. So, big cheese actors in the theatre. Bernard Bresslaw was the big guy in the, “Carry on”, films, which you won’t know about so I don’t know why I’m telling you! (Another British iconic comedy film series.)
Bernard Breslaw was in the Carry On movies I think and the VHS tape was of the popular police drama from 1984 well into the 2000s, oh and the mix up was them thinking they were in catering when in fact they were from Kettering (a town).
I've been bingeing your vids for a few days now. It's really enjoyable watching old favourites with you. Glad to see you on One foot in the grave. There are many episodes and some are up there with the best written UK comedies in my opinion.
BEST REACTIONS, CANT BEAT THE LAUGH AND THE FACT THAT JOSH GETS ENGLISH HUMOUR SO WELL. IF HE DOESNT QUITE GET THE JOKE OR EXPRESSION HE WILL LOOK IT UP AND REMEMBER IT NEXT TIME IT COMES UP. FOR ME HE WAS MY INITIAL INTRODUCTION INTO THE WORLD OF AMERICANS REACTING TO BRITISH SITCOMS/MOVIES. AND FOR ME HE'S THE BEST. ORIGINAL AND RELATABLE. IM SURE YOU'LL ALL AGREE HE BRINGS THE OLD GOOD TIMES AND MEMORIES OF THE TIMES WHEN YOUNGER WATCHING THESE WITH PARENTS. NOT MANY CHANNELS BACK THEN. UNLESS YOU HAD CABLE 😂😂 GOOD TIMES. KEEP IT UP JOSH. GOODNIGHT SWEETHEART DEFINITELY NEEDS TO GO ON YOUR LIST. NO DOUBT ALREADY IS. 👍👍✌❤
Thanks man I appreciate the kind works! I do my best for you all so I am glad to hear you are enjoying my channel! I will add that to my list bud, thanks again!
At 5:03 Urlich Idle would probably have been voiced by Eric Idle of Monty Python who also wrote and sang the One Foot In The Grave theme tune (Dennis Waterman wasn't available)
This episode reminds me a bit of the play that goes wrong. They also made it into a TV program the show that goes wrong. If you get the opportunity you should react to both of these

I love the one where he pops out the kitchen for two minutes and comes back and someone has stolen his fridge hahaha.

That is awesome man thanks for sharing!
That's cool, I didn't know this.

One Foot in the Grave is ofcourse hilarious, but it's also really melancholic and quite sad as well
Lol Victors glee at the carnage unfolding onstage 😂
LOL that was hilarious =]
That bit kills me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

5:00 "Ulrich Idle"

Love the mix up over The Bill (which was a very popular police drama that ran from 1984-2010).
It ran that long? lol I remember it being popular in the 80's but hadn't a clue it went on that long.
check out the one where they get stranded and have to shelter in a white van , "Hearts of Darkeness " one of the best x
Oh, also 'Old Harry' like 'Old Nick' was slang for the Devil as in the long running radio sitcom 'Old Harry's Game' about souls in Hell.
Thanks bud!
Kettering is a market town about 65 miles north of London. Catering is not.
'The Bill' was a weekly show about London cops. 'The Old Bill' was always slang for them.
That poor, poor Triumph car! They are worth a lot of money now too!
Oh no that is a bummer.
