Thank you so much for this simple and quick tutorial. In 2004 emails used to allow for videos to load and then that became obsolete. This is a fab alternative to create a teaser.

Perhaps the most important piece of information I was seeking - how to create a lightweight file size, was totally breezed over. No one wants to create an image file that is three times larger than the original video file! 🤦♂️

Very nice presentation but... a full HD mp4 video of 3.2Mb is turned into a 10.6Mb animated GIF with only 30% of the original resolution and only 256 colors. Why is that GIF file more than 3 times the size of the original hull HD mp4 video file?

THANK YOU!!!! I've been trying to solve an issue i was having while exporting a gif. All i was seeing when I'd open my exported file was a still image. Turns out, i just had to press the space bar and it worked! lol!!! THANK YOU for ending my hours of daunting exporting trying to fix this!

Hello mr Daniel 😊 hope you are having fun 😅. This video is old no to many tools and stuff for gifs. But my question is that basics of gif like if you have 3 files icons or simple logos in different dimensions then how to make it a perfect dimensionally?
I have a white background and my mp4 when converted into a gif, I am getting two vertical black border lines and I don't want any borderlines in my gif what should I do??

Hey, this is a great video, very clear and funny!! However, when I tried to do it I got an error message, I was hoping you could help me: When I tried to open the video file (mp4) it said "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document". Do you know why this might happen? I should point out that I'm using a PC, and my photoshop version is the CS6.
So how will this work if you want to make multiple gifs from a long video? for example i want to make a lot of gifs from a movie so how would i go about doing that?
I followed everything in the tutorial but when I go to look at my gif it doesn't loop it just stays on one frame. What did I do wrong? Please let me know.

Hi! I used this tutorial, and it works great! The only thing though, is that when I apply any sort of edit to the gif using this method, it only applies it to the first frame. Can anyone give me a hand with this?
Thank you for the tutorial! It was straight forward and easy to follow. The only problem I encountered is the gif seems to have sped up upon export. Anyone else have that issue or know a solution? I tried playing with the "timeline frame rate" but it didn't help.
i slowed the video down in my editing software before uploading the video into photoshop and that was helpful for me

Does making a gif with video require a certain file type? For example my camera creates MOV files will that work to start with a gif?

This Video relates to the Creative Cloud Version of Photoshop. If you want to do this in Photoshop CS 5.1 you don´t need to chose Export, but "File" -> "Save for Web..."
However, in my test it took about 3 minutes longer than like in this video. ;)
I was trying to use a video (MP4) of 44 mins (to cut the part i want need it) but Photoshop cant open the file.. is there a way to fix that?
