I am surprised this series is not that talked about. How can you sleep on this masterpiece? Anyways weeks have passed since I finish it and I am still not over it

So many have said this is the best historical kdrama, sometimes the best kdrama just in general, well can I say this series deserves to be recognized far beyond just Korean culture, it’s a masterpiece worthy of global praise. Truly a work of art that shows us humans are capable of making more than just the latest iPhone or most politically correct post on Facebook, but that we can invoke the deepest rooted passion that surpasses the the breaches of our banal conditioning. This show has brought so much light to my life! I love it!
I am from Germany and I love it much by the same reasons which u mentioned. This Drama has so many different relationships between different men. They show the kind of love of men for each other and their faithfulness and their typical problems of a man-ruled world very heavy and clear.
I've watched ALOT of korean dramas. This has one of the best soundtracks I've heard in awhile (like Goblin, CLOY, DOTS, etc.) The story is compelling and the acting is phenomenal. It's definitely a war drama, not many might appreciate. But I certainly did💕

I got into Kdrama like two years ago and after a while I got used to the storylines that they set so now only watch a few dramas that show unique plot lines and if I do I watch it like a lot of times I loved this drama I watched it like three times and I feel like watching it again. They did an excellent job my best feature of it was the bond between the two friends. Most dramas don't show that this days they focus on the love interest when all we want it a simple story of friendship. Again I loved this drama and definitely I would recommend it to anyone looking for a drama to watch you won't regret it
Watching this drama started very randomly for me, first episodes caught my attention, but soon I had an inner struggle whether to keep on watching seemingly hopeless series, I wanted to dump it and kinda laugh at that and move on. I am here now after I've finished the last episode crying and very impacted by the story of My Country. I believe to know the price that had to be paid by people in each nation is what should form us and this series done that with excellence. Definitely not for the faint of heart though.

Very good drama. Music, costume, acts, and story are great. This drama is very successful in portraying every character. In the end, I can't judge who is right or wrong, they have their own reason to fight for their beliefs "country". I was immersed in the emotions of each character. I fell in love with Hwi with his "gentle eyes" and his selfless, and I was also carried away by Sun Ho's "eagle eyes" and his doubts. Overall i gave 9 to drama!!!
Perfect ost for this drama. I've watched a whole lot of sageuk dramas and this has been added to one of the best alongside The Crowned Clown, Moon Lovers, Mr Sunshine, Love in the Moonlight etc. EVERY episode is so goodddddd love it
This drama is more about friendship and brotherhood and I think I can say about humanity, though it has a lot of bloodshed it's still about the people.

The best JTBC historical drama! No wasted time watching this masterpiece. I regretted not watching it by the year it was aired. What I really love the most about this drama was the fighting scenes, especially in the battle field. As if I am watching a movie. Their friendship is more interesting than any other part ot this series. How sad that it's only 16 episodes. The pacing is fast that would make you thought that you're already in the middle of 16 eps. Rooting that it must have been a 50 ep. series.

I both admired and pitied Nam Seung Ho. He tried to save everyone and betray no one but, in the end, he ended up with nothing. He never betrayed his friend and, while he hated his father, he could not bring himself to strike him down. Even when he was trying to stop Hwi from harming his clan, he did it in a way that wouldn't hurt him. I admire him for his loyalty. It was a rare but well loved trope. At the same time, I can't help but think he's a moron. Contradictry, I know. I just think that if you want to treat someone well, treat them well all the way. If you want to hurt someone, then make sure to destroy them completely. Being half hearted only hurts you in the end. Not one of Seung Ho's schemes ever bore fruit.

I just finished watching this and also watching Alchemy of Souls which is a close tie for me with this. The music in this series is particularly awesome... this song especially. The ending to this will rip at your heartstrings and you're unlikely to forget it for quite awhile if ever.

I just finished watching this and also watching Alchemy of Souls which is a close tie for me with this. The music in this series is particularly awesome... this song especially. The ending to this will rip at your heartstrings and you're unlikely to forget it for quite awhile if ever.
I'm an avid K drama fan and love this . I feel sure parts of the Greatest Showman film soundtrack are included in certain episodes but I can't find any reference. Does anyone else think this ?

우도환 배우 연기 정말 지리네요. 보통 현대극 연기를 잘해도 사극은 별로인 배우가 많은데 어쩜 사극연기도 이리 일품이죠? 보이스 딕션 좋은 거야 익히 알았지만 랑 을 보니 액션까지 잘하더라고요. 진짜 못하는 게 없는 도환 배우는 매력덩어리ㅜㅜ 우리나라 영화 드라마 계의 보물입니다아
