The route beyond Losar to Kunzum and then to Chandratal is rough. And from Bataal till Gramphu it is worst, with as many water passes, loose gravel, and bumpy road in this patch. I suggest avoiding hatchback beyond Kaza towards Manali. Yes ofcourse you can plan for a bike trip to Spiti. Foreigners need an inner line permit to visit Spiti from Kinnaur side or from Manali side.This permit can be obtained from DM office in Shimla and Reckong Peo. If coming from Manali; you can get the permits from DC office at Keylong. Regarding check post, I have passed two check points during my trip. The no. of check posts keep varying time to time depending on the security policies

The road to Kaza via Shimla is in good condition. But when you cross Kaza towards Manali/Chandratal the road condition is very bad. But if you take the Kibber-Chicham road from Kaza you'll get some relief only upto 40 km as this stretch is newly constructed. For Hatchback like swift it will be very tough and tiring to get through. Thanks for the comment. I used GoPro Hero 5. 64 GB will not be enough for your 8-9 day trip (depends on the video resolution and the amount of video you capture). U need to free up the space of your memory card frequently. So do bring your laptop with you for file transfer.
Apart from resolution, the video size also depends on the factors like FPS, FOV, bit rate and enabling Protune. Since the GoPro shots on high bitrate, the memory consumption is high. For video setting: 1080p/ 30fps/ linear/ 45Mbps/ Protune ON, a 64gb card will give a tentative recording time of 2h 40m.

Monsoon khatam hotay hi jaana..Apko roads clear milenge and view bhi sahi milega. Agar apko greenery and cloudy environment chahiye.
