I used to correct my elders for calling them as Sangtang.... No it's not 'Sangtang', its Sangtam. I was wrong. Anyway, we also called reserved forest as Sangtang.
Bapa calls it in wrong pronounciation. In Sanphure dialect, they calls it as SANGDANG, whereas in Phelungre dialect calls it as SANGTANG, not as mentioned. Please don't mislead the listeners.

Sangtam derived from sangtang. Sangtang means (forest reserved)So sangtang is original in sanphure dialect.
