The fact that simon didn’t catch on that in the very last ending is that it was hinting to james (the protagonist) conguring all of what happened in his mind. Finding out every scenerio possible to try and redo murdering him and his wife-sister’s father and obsessing over trying to keep the only family he has known close to him which is his sister. He also didn’t notice that the father and the “cop” were the same person. Someone else pointed out that the 2 apts on either side may represent the protagonist’s futures that could’ve been had he either decided to continue the relationship with his sister (apt with a family and the baby crying), or to be alone and not continuing the relationship (empty, vacant apt). Also that the apt he and his wife-sister was in has alot of things that go wrong in it, basically showing how his mind and life is in that moment.

i think it might just be more flower symbolism since bees pollinate flowers. the cop/dad telling him to think about flowers while he was being hypnotized already explains all of the flowers and flower paintings throughout the apartment, so maybe bumblebee is just another thing his mind created. i'm not sure if she actually represents anyone though.
