My best was a collegeblock, and my worst is everything different, no joke hahaha (I don't go to college that why I just wrote something random)
The first semester I spent a lot on books but definitely cheaper than most bc my high school teacher told me where to look
Haven’t started college yet but I have some decor I already want to return LMao… but I got basically everything I need and everything else I’m going to end up buying when I have been living there and know what I need.
My every time best college and everyday life purchase is a PLANNER
If you are a commuter, invest in making your car organized and clean. Get it detailed before each semester. It will make your commute so much nicer because you aren’t starting your day in a messy room

no but the medicine drawer is so essential and no one talks about it! tums, pepto bismol, advil, emergen c, nyquil, will get you through almost anything when you're feeling shit and since college kids can't take care of themselves you'll also prolly save some friends asses too!

I've found that soap sheets are a good combination of pods and liquid! Convient and doesn't ruin clothes.
The fact that she had to pay to do laundry is crazy. It should be free for dorm students! Also, I had the same experience with the tide pods.

honestly i feel like people lowkey have such high expectations for college and when they don’t receive those expectations they get discouraged when in reality everyone has a different college experience. there is no right specific one and it’s just all about how you want to get through college. not the way you think you should but the way you want too

I never did either?
I don’t either! I mean, I might get one this semester since it’s kinda my first semester of college. But I’ll get one and then forget to use it or follow it. I prefer just using the calendar on my iPad
Is usually just had a small notebook as a to do list. Planners that I’ve seen have a lot of extra things in it, it would overwhelm me, so I found it easier to just write down what I needed to do for the day in a notebook or sticky note. Also canvas would usually have a calendar with due dates. That is unless a teacher didn’t upload assignments online until they were due, then I absolutely needed the notebook.

I didn’t go to college right after high school and I never took school seriously. I eventually got fed up with the crappy jobs and enrolled and her videos have given me so much advice and honestly got me through my first semester 💖

if you're moving away for college bring ALLERGY MEDS!! i was allergic to something in the air in the residence buildings (probably mold tbh) and had the exact same allergic reaction every time i moved back to campus. it's something you might not think about but if you have seasonal allergies or allergies to mold, pollen, anything like that you definitely want to be prepared just in case you're allergic to something on campus
Best purchase: my Macbook - literally can't do anything for school without it! 🤩❤️
Worst purchase: buying instead of renting textbooks that I'd never want to keep after the class was over🙃

Oh that’s so interesting bc I have the opposite experience! My best friend had a MacBook that she bought freshman year, $1,800 with additional Apple Care, and hers broke down all the time! Her keyboard broke, her screen broke, and sometimes it would literally freeze in the middle of a task. She even got it looked at by the Genius Bar and they replaced it and she still had the same issues. In my opinion, MacBooks are totally not worth it for the price but also I’m not trying to hate or judge, you do you 💕

also the hydroflask might get alot of hype, but honnestly? one of the best things i ever bought. i can not stress how much joy and just tiny bit of exstra energy it gave me to have ice cubes in my drink THE WHOLE DAY

amazon is great for textbooks if they’re not in high demand ! one thing my one professor told me is that if a bunch of students are searching for the same book amazon will set their prices higher due to demand !
omg that's rude, I buy mine from there SO FAST after the prof says which one we need so I try to get ahead of the demand 😂

A fun fact for tide pods: if/when the remnants get stuck on your clothing, you can legitimately just soak the item in warm water and peel it off! Also, it usually happens when you don't put the tide pod in first (before clothing)!

The gasp I let out when your first worst was the North Face backpack! I LOVE my North Face backpack, I legit bought it for my freshman year of high school and it survived all 4 years of high school holding my heavy AP textbooks and notebooks. I even used it during my freshman year of college and I'm planning to use it for my sophomore year. Literally the best backpack I've ever owned omg

second on this!! I have the plain black Jester and it has a laptop sleeve plus water bottle holder and smaller pouch in the front so i can fit my computer/pens plus space for books and even my whole makeup bag. only complaint is that it can be weirdly shaped but def get one with more pockets
North face is terrible for me too. Jansport !!!
I have food allergies and wasn’t able to eat a lot in the dining hall so my best purchase was a mini fridge as big as the dorm allowed! Another good purchase was getting one of those expanding file organizer folder things instead of buying a big binder.
YES FINALLY SOMEONE SPILLED THE TEA ABOUT THE NORTH FACE BACKPACKS. also that mattress topper is the best thing i've ever laid upon I SWEAR
love the tips :) just to add on detergent for laundry if you dont want to carry a huge bottle of detergent to the laundry room just buy like a mini bottle and fill that and bring that whenever you have to do laundry - its 10000x more convenient :)

I have to say that I’ve tried to use a planner so many times throughout high school that I’m not getting one for college. I’ll still write stuff down, but getting a planner for me is redundant because I know I won’t use it sadly. Just wanted to say that it’s ok to not get a planner as long as you have a system to remember your assignments that works for you!
i feel the exact same way. every school year i get a planner and stop using it after a couple of weeks. i usually just either forget what i have to do or write it in my phone lol.

yes, the planner!!! i have just finished my freshman year last week and thank god i have listened to every youtuber's advice to have a planner and it's so so useful. i wished that i had a planner since i was in HS, yes lol.
My best purchase : the previous years exams from the university's library (like if I have a prof that taught the previous years I can buy their past exams to have an idea before the exams season)
My worst purchase : buying big notebooks

Same!! As an English major, it was GREAT not having to carry around pamphlets of readings or multiple novels in addition to my textbooks! I started with a iPad Mini and recently upgraded to an iPad Air 2020 for grad school!

i subscribe to few of college vloggers, but hannah is my fav. the way shes just being herself and it feels shes being honest to everything that she said in the vlog. the way shes mot afraid of being natural, without makeup and i remember watching her bideo when she was skinny, and now seeing her this thic, thought shell be insecure or things but the fact that shes not!! shes confident abt it. i love thay energy she brings. and the way shes not ashamed having a breakout, not cover them in front of camera (ik she might be stressed abt it but shes confident with it). hannah you're awesome!!!!! hannah really screams "ACNE IS NORMAL"
I have the same exact mattress topper and it is amazing! Definitely worth the money as you can keep reusing it for as long as you live in the dorms. Making sure you can sleep comfortably is important!

Underrated backpacks are the ones you get from Disneyland when you spend a certain amount of money. They have a lot of pockets. It has a patted down laptop compartment (like very patted). The backpacks are big and comfortable to wear all day. I've used them since 1st grade and they backpacks last for at least 4 years if you take good care of them
AirPods are also useful when you need to go to the bathroom and you’re in a zoom call. You still get to listen in to what the teacher is saying even if you’re not in front of your computer

one of my worst purchases for college was my iPad. bought it freshman ur and literally only used it for doodling on procreate😂 i much preferred laptop notes or even spiral notes, very jealous of anyone who took pretty notes on their iPad but IT COULD NOT BE ME and it still pains me

Another textbook/bookstore tip: see if you school's bookstore does price matching -- mine did! That way you can purchase from your bookstore (so supporting your school and helping to keep prices down for the future) but getting it at the more affordable price!

JUST WANNA LET YOU KNOW i discovered your channel because of watching Kiara's channel and you were on her follow list and becasuse of YOU I am not redoing my room finally after YEEEAAARS of stagnation, literally all I had in my room was my bed and a terrible pink desk from middle school, when 2020 hit i was like i desperately wanna get my room together just like everyone else but all i managed to do was buy a new desk and that was it. your vlogs sparked me to commit so I'm planning to repaint my room in the next 2 weeks after I hopefully pick the color, and bought a bookshelf, have nightstand & dresser options to be chosen and purchased, just wanted to let you know

Just use online pdfs for your textbooks. Comes with a bonus of not having to drag those things around everywhere. Just have to bring your laptop and you've got all you need.

TBH I wholeheartedly feel you with the FOMO of back to school prep. I graduated High School in June and decided to take a gap semester. I know taking the time off to figure things out for my future will pay off, but gosh does seeing all my friends prep for back to school makes me feel like I am missing out.

The tide pod thing has happened to me too, all you have to do wash it again and it comes out, you can also rinse it under warm water but its more effective to wash it. The tide pod is basically just soap so it should come out pretty easily.
