Wow! Beachy Head is an amazing spot to watch the Eastbourne Air Show. Being about to view the planes from above as they fly by is incredible. Great Video.
Those low-bypass turbofans always do sound awesome, but there is *NOTHING* like the sound of a supercharger feeding 12 pissed off cylinders turning a huge propeller; that's the sound that gives me goosebumps.
What an amazing grandstand to view some amazing aircraft from. Loved the old and new fly by when you could still hear that unmistakeable sound of a Merlin engine above the roar of a jet. Nice video, thanks.
Well, wherever Beachy Head is... it's a spectacular place to watch this amaZing show!!! Looking out over that beautiful ocean...and the thrill of the fly bys. WOW!! I could stay there all day long! That last one was verrrry impressive!! Thanks for the upload but I'm so jealous!!! lol :) Thanks again for some fabulous sights and sounds, Wonkabar!! 2 thumbs up^^
Beachy Head is on the high ground at the Western side of Eastbourne on the SE Coast of England. It is a small seaside resort nicknamed "Gods Waiting room" due to the number of retirees! However, each year it has an air show where the display line is along the sea front of about three miles! In the center are stall, funfair and all the normal stuff. But the quality of the display varies each year. There is always something good! A favourite place for my family for the last 5 generations! Great Grand parents ran a B&B there just after WW2.
Laurie St Lyon Oh thank you for that, Laurie!! Very interesting. How nice to be able to see that airshow from that vantage point! It looks absolutely gorgeous there. Take care~
3 things...1: What a beautifully windy day, reminding me why the Brits are a sailing nation 2: blown away by the 2 Tornado's 3. blown away by the F16/Spitfire combo and the lone F16 pulling the tightest turn...thanks a lot. Must have been an amazing day.
Wow, i will pass within the next 3 to 4 weeks. i am a cancer RIP. Scotland all of the thinking folk want you to find your berth as a Nation. God Bless. I wish you well as an English Fellow. Next week my wife and I will be in Mallaig. Cant Wish for more! Andrew.
Watching....Red Arrows, pretty cool, then a Hurricane, very cool.....a Sabre WTF? F16, Spitfire.....you don't get this much variety at some airshows.....brilliant, thanks for sharing. I'm a little jelly, as my son would say.
incredible! It is a beautiful place and we see planes from WWII (spitfires and H Hurricanes), as well moderns jets like F16 ans Tornados. Fantastic video!
If this is a yearly event ADVERTISE it! Travel companies would jump on-board and its about all the incentive I'd need to come over from th U.S. to spend a week or two visiting air museums and seeing some of the country! AND that Spitfire sounds amazing!
Recently found your channel and thus far very impressed! Amazing collection of aircraft and sum incredible viewing locations that you have access to. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing more of your uploads. Bet that seagull at 2:36 shat himself when he got that fly by!👍🖖🤘
Awesome viewing spot! The shot of the Hunter was nice as was the pair of Tornados. (The Tucano had no chance of topping that!) Ever get to see the Vulcan from here?
jpatt1000 Last chance ever to see ther Vulcan from here this Saturday 15th August 2015. Be there or regret it for ever ! Vulcan at Shoreham the following weekend then it is off to the museum in the Autumn :-((
"Not much of an Engineer" a book by Stanley Hooker. Rolls Royce and Power Jets, Frank Whittle. Get the book, it reads like a Rolls Royce Merlin throbs. Great machines and Great Men.
Superb! My mum lives in Hastings, which is visible in the distance there. You've inspired me to check this out this year. I wonder if the cliff top is a preferable viewpoint to the seafront.
Hi Mark, just added to the Keep the Stripes Twitter account to remind everyone the dates of this year's show. Hopefully the stripes will have been repainted by then so the Lighthouse will look pristine in this year's films! Shirley
That Hunter was fucking beautiful, when it gets into War Thunder someone has to put that as a user skin, or convince Gaijin to make it an unlockable skin for everyone too see.
I can't imagine disliking this unless I was a reverse Yemenese ISIS Taliban closet Gay. Great vid!!!! What a great vantage point too. Thanks for adding another great film for us all to see...
@martkt10 Its a Sony Handycam XR155e, a easy to use home user camcorder, I have it recording on Auto settings at the highest quality. I have two important extras fitted, one is a Hoodman H300 on the LCD screen, and the other is a Rycote gustbuster fitted over the mic.
The praise given here is totally justified BUT---SO MANY--Air Show videos are spoiled by strong winds passing over the sound mic. I was tempted to mute it---but loss of the sound of those engines (especially the Spitfires of course) would have reduced the pleasure a great deal. I'll admit to not being in any way knowledgeable on the subject, but aren't there those 'fluffy' wind break cover's available for Vid cams?
For the record my home user camcorder always has a fluffy wind cover fitted. The truth is that wind muffs only work up to a certain wind speed, once the wind gets to 40mph gusts and above, the wind noise gets through them. I find TH-cam aviation enthusiasts like to hear the engines sounds, even with a bit of wind noise, that's why I don't add music like " highway to the danger zone " ;) Professional camera operators use a separate mic or sound man, placed behind a object out of the wind, also they often use a sound track from another event, and overlay it during editing.
What a treat that would have been to see those different aircraft strutting their stuff against that lovely sky and the sea In person. 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
I love the Hawker Hunter, what a plane!

Me too! Lovely, isn't it?
Beautiful. Clear HD with no shaking and a smooth flow. That zoom in at 00.24 and at 00:55 was was worth the price of admission. Great job.
What an amazing grandstand to view some amazing aircraft from. Loved the old and new fly by when you could still hear that unmistakeable sound of a Merlin engine above the roar of a jet. Nice video, thanks.
Extraordinary aircraft! Wow - what a BRILLIANT display and what a wonderful setting for an airshow! I particularly LOVED the F16 and Mustang flyby!

Great to see the F-86 Sabre in there. Hardly any of them around anymore.
This is like the Mach Loop only wetter.

friggin' AWESOME!!!
Bonus Comment: when you can't tell if its a speck of dust on your screen or a fast mover comin' in...
In the US we get to see the fighter planes practice in the canyons and deserts, which is cool, but this is a beautiful viewing place.
Good job!...stunning backdrop and great quality upload despite the wind. well done.

Fantastic quality video, great sound from the planes! brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!!!
incredible! It is a beautiful place and we see planes from WWII (spitfires and H Hurricanes), as well moderns jets like F16 ans Tornados. Fantastic video!
With all those aircraft going in opposite directions I sure hope there is some very good and clear communications going on there!
God's beautiful planet... and some fantastic planes. cheers!

60+ years of aviation history passing right in front of you - priceless :)
Loved the jet aircraft but that Spitfire got my heart racing.
Im not accustomed to seeing an air show from this perspective. I like it
Again, great quality footage, great subject matter, great location. Thank you.
That f-86 sabre was beautiful
What a beautiful vantage point.
I'd have fallen off the cliff when that Sabre went by!

"Not much of an Engineer" a book by Stanley Hooker.
Rolls Royce and Power Jets, Frank Whittle.
Get the book, it reads like a Rolls Royce Merlin throbs.
Great machines and Great Men.
I agree, bought the book years ago and thoroughly recommend it.
sue bonnington , great story...... this video is superb!
fantastic paint job on the Hunter.
hah, the propeller ones are the best sounding :D gotta love that old war plane engine with the propeller slicing the air
9th to the 12th of August, Beachy Head is a fun place to see the planes, but it is always windy.
Really good vid - couldn't ID at the 2min mark but looked like a pair of Jump Jets.
Tornadoes?
Gryffster Yeah, maybe twin engine swept wings.
***** They were Tornadoes. no mistake.
Beautiful, thank you uploader!
I like how they describe the paint job, saying it looks like a 70s ice lolly :)
Sweet! Thanks for being there, recording and sharing! 3:10 - Amazing how something so beautiful can be so lethal...
That was some sick ass footage...awesome cam work. Thank you for posting !!!
Superb! My mum lives in Hastings, which is visible in the distance there. You've inspired me to check this out this year. I wonder if the cliff top is a preferable viewpoint to the seafront.
The jet totally spoiled the sound of that Spitfire! Great video!
Love the sound of the spitfire !!!!!
Switched to 1080p, full screen and enjoyed the video. Great stuff there!!!
Indeed - truly a majestic sight. although I wonder how much the F16 had to throttle back! The mustang was still impressive, though, for sure!
Wow! Stunning.
this location is a dream for every planespotter :D really nice video

Amazing to think I live here in the sunny seaside town of Eastbourne

it's a great paint scheme, sometimes described as looking like a 70s ice lolly. facebook.com/MissDemeanourOfficial/photos_stream?ref=page_internal
Wonkabar007 Yeah.

+I AM A BIG TROLL! HEED ME OR I WILL CURSE YOU WITH SPAGHETTI AND LAUGH sure and the f14's 2
+Daniel Westrik These Jets @ 1:39 are Tornados!?
Nice video, we normally watch from Beachy Head also.
To see a Hurricane an Dr a Spitfire fly past the cliffs they so valiantly defended b rings a lump to us throut
fantastic sound of those Merlins make
Think I saw those aircrafts: F-86 Sabre, F-16 Falcon, Spitfire, P51-Mustang
And two rather modern looking stunt flyers..
+dbenx I think the stunt planes are RV8
1:23 I believe that is a Hawker Hurricane. 2:55 there is your spitfire.
You nforgot the Hunter.
I can't imagine disliking this unless I was a reverse Yemenese ISIS Taliban closet Gay. Great vid!!!! What a great vantage point too. Thanks for adding another great film for us all to see...
Maybe they wanted to see the Vulcan REALLY bad! ;-)
@bigGaza1 No, the cliffs of Dover are 68 miles to the east of Beachy Head.
GREAT call! I TOTALLY agree!
F-16 cornering... What an awesome plane...

Wonkabar007 Thanks for the info--I guess you did all you could. And thanks for the absence of music too--the images are dramatic enough for anyone.
Wonkabar007 you did great with the sound. I could hear the wind but it was not at all overbearing so to speak...perfect !!
Very nice, good video.
What was that last jet? Sounded amazing and looked so agile! What a pilot
General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon
Ahhh i was gutted that I managed to miss the tornado on every day, and NOW I'm gutted that I missed not one but two!
I think the first set of planes are Aermacchi MB.339's
stunning!
Am disappointed that the typhoon is not in this video :(
Yea me 2

Great footage.
Nice flying Brits :)
