Your trainer may have an IEA team or not. They need to invite you and you can ride as part of the team in competitions. There are flat and jumping classes for English-I do both-and you'll be randomly assigned a horse from another stable. It's really fun but very competitive!
Your barn does IEA quite differently then mine. We are assigned a horse, but each horse is also assigned a person to take care of them and hold them for the day. The rider isn’t allowed to handle the horse withought it’s assigned holder. Then, you go in for schooling but you aphave to do a very specific course. You did amazing!
You are the cutest equestrian! Thank you for sharing and congratulations on your first show, you did great! ❤ I am showing my son your video to help him get an idea of what to expect.
I hav3 not done a horse show yet but once i did a bounce its a low jump before a high jump and im still learning but ive been watching your vids to help me and what to expect in a show it might be coming soon!
Hey! Super late response but usually barns have IEA teams. The season usually is from July-February, with tryouts starting around May/June. For the most part there are 5 shows that the team attends, scoring 18+ points to move on to regionals, which is held somewhere different depending on where your zone is. :)
My trainers belong to organizations-one local and one national-and they sponsor me when I compete. It took me about 3 years of riding before I showed but you can definitely ride earlier than that, depending on the organization and your age. Good luck!
I’m moving to a new barn soon that does IEA and I wanted to know how an IEA show usually goes and now I know so thank you!!
