Australia was my first foreign country I lived outside of Japan, now living in the UK after Singapore and Belgium. 6 months will pass by quicker than you think so hope you enjoy every moment 🥰
How exciting! I just got back from my 3 month stay last Saturday. I think the Spring is going to be warmer than usual ( the blossom started early this year). Before I left I found a beautiful fabric store in Kamakura ( easy train trip South from Tokyo) called Swany. Please take a trip and visit, the town is lovely and the shop amazing. 3 floors of delight.
Welcome to Japan! I hope you enjoy your stay in Japan❤
The Sakura have honestly been even more beautiful then I could have ever imagined! Thanks for sharing, Nippori is definitely on the list and I cannot wait!!
All the very best. Please keep on filming videos of Japan. That is one country I would like to travel to in the future and I can get a sneak peak through your eyes, tfs
I don’t like change either and I am a real homebody. Like you, my hubby is adventurous, which means he takes me out of my comfort zone and I have done amazing things, all thanks to him. ❤
One of the best sewing related things I did in Japan years ago was go to a Museum exhibit that had antique kimonos. The fabrics were incredible. Keep a lookout for something similar..
Memories-just thought of something else. It was so hot, the ladies always had these what I would call sweat rags (lol)!! But, in alot of the upscale shops, they had really cool ones that had been adorned with different creations… something a person with your skills would find fun to create..
Wishing you a wonderful time in Japan!! Your craft projects look fun. Love the colors of yarn you picked! That dark green yarn is gorgeous !! Can’t wait to see the finished project!! Have fun and be safe!!😊
I don't know if it will help with anxiety, but when I can't sleep, I find noting helps! When thoughts enter your head, you say "that's a thought", and with feelings, you say, "that's a feeling." For me, it's like filing those thoughts for later? It helps me not fall down the thought rabit hole in the middle of the night!
Aahh what a lovely video Janelle. Wishing you and hubby a wonderful stay in Japan. I feel soo excited for the both of you. Have fun and enjoy every moment. Can't wait to hear about your adventures. Remain blessed xxx
Thanks for sharing your Japan trip with us, i am looking forward to seeing it. You got me just a bit teary when you said, 'Goodbye Australia' and you will probably get me that way again when you come home. Hope you have an amazing time.
Sometimes the only way is just through. I hated the idea of spending 6 months abroad but knew it would help me in my development and forced me to do it. was the best 6 months of my life so far. if it sucks, there are still advantages on paper that you will gain benefit from in the future and it is over in just 6 months. our brains are able to adjust and we can learn that what keeps us awake at night is actually not that bad and maybe even enjoyable. it might suck now, but it is a huge chance to become one of the best things as well.
This is so reassuring to hear! Now that I’m here I have no idea what I was so worried about. I know there will most likely be tough times but I’m excited to see how this next 6 months grows me as a person. Thanks so much for sharing your experience 😊
What a wonderful & exciting opportunity for you both. Looking forward to seeing the beautiful country of Japan & your sewing & craft adventures. It looks so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
How exciting for you!! Now is the time to do this while you’re still young and don’t have other things to tie you down! Looking forward to seeing what Japan holds for you!
Welcome to Japan!!!! 🌸🌸🌸 just the perfect time for you to arrive here and to start your amazing adventure! We live in Kyoto prefecture and have been here for just over 7 years. Originally from South Africa. Looking forward to the Japan content!
Oh my goodness I cannot wait to see the content from Japan😊 it’s definitely a place that I would love to go someday. And I absolutely love everything about Japanese aesthetic
What a wonderful vlog, Janelle! Wishing you a wonderful time in Japan that you'll always remember! I only was in Japan twice for a week each and Ivreally enjoyed it. Also like the vlogs from other TH-camrs to "experience" the thrift Stores and craft supplies shops that I not had the chance to because both Trips were with a planned schedule and I was lucky enough to experience soooo many other things there. 😍 Regards from Germany and looking forward to your Japan-Vlogs - Stephanie
I am also a person who loves their routine. I'm currently way out of my comfort zone, we moved to another country 18 months ago and still haven't settled into a permanent place yet. It's been interesting but a little unsettling.
I'm so happy for you Janelle! Can't wait to see how the Japanese culture will inspire you. Enjoy every moment. All the best to you! Love and prayers 🥰❤🙏
I am so excited to see your adventures in Japan! It is such an adventure to travel. I have lived all over the United States, but never in another country. The world has become much smaller due to the internet. I remember you guys already have gone on holiday there. Good luck!
You must go to Nippori Fabric Town, which is easy to get to on the train, on the JR Yamanote line, from Nippori Station. Lots to choose from. I bought a Suitcase full home. You will love Japan. Love❤
I’ve had Nippori on my list every time I come to Japan but I still have never been!! So excited to finally get there this time and I plan to film the whole thing 😄
Can't wait to see more! I've become very intrigued by Japanese culture lately. Excited for your adventures. I think many TH-cam content providers hit a stage where they're not sure what comes next, or how to proceed... But keep in mind, we out here are like friends who enjoy your company...lol. We support you in whatever you do as long as it's healthy! Stay safe, have fun! 😘💞💖
Aww thank you! 😭 This is such a lovely comment and really means so much to me! It’s definitely daunting doing something new as I sometimes feel like people are only here for sewing content (which don’t get me wrong, I love!), but yeah your support just means so much to me. Thank you for enjoying my company xx
I hope you're settling in well. I think it'll be a challenging and wonderful experience. I'm looking forward to seeing your videos from Japan. I'm heading there for a holiday in October, around the time you'll be leaving I guess!
I've decided to do a Temperature Wrap this year, as a record of our year. I've found that doing the past week at a time has been a good way to stay motivated and up to date. The little cross stitch is such a cute idea.
Hey Janelle, I loved this more chatty style video a lot, feels like I’m hanging out with a friend while I’m embroidering on the couch, so thanks for hanging out!
Loved this one. I also avoid change too and when I decide to take a plunge the anxiety quickly rushes in. But it's those moments that we grow the most, right!? ❤
You should also go to Yuzawaya, which is a store chain in Japan, you can Google for locations. They have every craft you can think of, and lots of authentic Japan only crafts, including fabric and wool and embroidery. Hope this helps. Miss Japan.
You're living my dream. We were supposed to honeymoon there in 2020, then in 2021...and 2022...and 2023... However I am so excited for you and hope you have been enjoying yourself so far! Cant wait to hear more.
@@RoseryApparel We've rescheduled for July 2024. We'd have been there this July but my husband isn't well enough for travel. Fingers crossed for next year 🤞
I am loving the content on instagram! Japan seems to be so clean and pretty. I would be anxious about going too, but you will have a fab time and home will always be waiting for you xxx
I don’t know if anybody have told you, but the author of the cross stitch book has a gallery shop in Tokyo called Tokyo Pixel. I remember it’s in kind of a cool neighborhood with interesting shops and cafes. You might want to check them out :)
Oh, I just loved this one! It was so heartfelt - felt like I needed to go grab a coffee for the chit chat. I’m loving your Japan instagram content so far. 😊
I’ve been busy with family for a month or two, so I missed this travel news! How exciting and what a great adventure you and Matt will have. Have a lovely time; really looking forward to a new type of content. Regards from Susan at Hobart.
