@@A_TH-cam_Commenter I have ever since 1982 when I was 10 years old been disappointed by the ending of Rocky 3. I felt that his tiring out was rushed and that it should have been more gradual with him maybe gassing out in round 5 or 6 not round 3. Even round 4 would have been better. I felt that it was unrealistic that someone so tough would tire THAT QUICKLY even though his rage was probably equivalent to running wind sprints. It just did not feel "epic" enough. It was only because of Apollo training Rocky on boxing fundamentals, that Rocky was able to beat Clubber. Clubber was a vicious puncher, not a boxer. Apollo would outclass Clubber easily

Apollo's prime is not in Rocky II, but before even Rocky I. In Rocky II he's very sharp and in excellent shape, but he was defeated in 2 aspects: (1) he was older (Rocky mentions that in Creed, that it was time that won against Apollo) and (2) he was so obsessed with KO'ing Rocky that he actually let a sure win (he was far in front in the score cards) become a sour loss. It's Apollo Creed who would win. In a very simple and short term - Rocky had to adapt and fight like Apollo to beat Clubber Lang speaks for it self! Clubber Lang is tough and dangerous for any man, but unless Lang wins the "punchers chanse lottery", it is Creed who will win either by a clear UD or a late KO/TKO over 12 or 15 rds. Creed was a marvel of an athlete who had it all. He had speed, smooth movement, fast hands, a sharp jab, great combinations, good power level, strong, a solid chin and great stamina. In fact, Creed's only akilles heel was his to large ego. His ego was his only real weaknes and when his ego did not get the nurishment he demanded, he would abandon his reason and go deeper into emotional actions and eventually become reckless = Losing the sharp edge he otherwise carries. Rocky was in reality a freak loss, but due to Rocky's incredible granite chin, determination to not give up and his onslught to murder the body with hard body-punches combined with being a south-paw and decent enough orthodox if-needed, he just had enough to barrely defeat Creed, but it was at a high cost to his health (and Creed's) - And Creed's fall was his ego. Not by punchers-chanse, not by out-of-shape, not by having significant trouble adapting to Rocky's style etc. Only that ego to go and fight Rocky's dog-fight and abandon his own command.
It would be something akin to a Rhino vs a Cheetah. A rhino certainly is powerful, and terrifying to watch when it charges, but the Cheetah is much faster and far more agile.
The fault of this setup is that Apollo is given character development that Clubber is never granted. This is the challenge in ranking any boxer in the Rocky franchise. Those who are granted character development are given a leg up due to having improvement over those not given this. It's like taking a snapshot of a boxer at one point and then pitting them against a similar classed opponent who is given full development. Apollo, as mentioned, is given the chance to grow in Rocky II, and is able to share this same lesson in Rocky III when he trains Rocky. We see a similar setup in the latest Creek movie where Creed is pushed not on speed and endurance, but on raw strength. If Clubber is granted character development, it is unknown if he could learn the skills of speed and endurance to match his brute force.
This depends on whether it was Apollo in his prime, which was a time before he fought Rocky or the Apollo that fought Rocky and then retired. Clubber put enough fear into Mickey to the point that he coerced Rocky into retiring until Clubber showed up at the unveiling of his statue, and Apollo’s manager protected Apollo at first by not wanting for him to fight Rocky because Rocky is a southpaw and then later on he tried to talk him out of a rematch against Rocky. But Apollo could go the distance, and he showed Rocky how to defeat Clubber. Therefore, one would have to think Apollo would have disposed of Clubber quite easily.
This is great fun and thank you. I’d argue tho that Apollo’s prime was prior to Rocky II. Rocky said in the film Apollo that he (Apollo) was the best he fought but that time had caught up on his speed and overall performance. Again, great fun and thanks!!
The thing is applo is regarded as the best fighter in the Rocky era. Apollo lost in 4 not because the Russian was better it was because applo was old. He's older than Rocky. Hell he lost to Rocky because of age
A majority here are saying Creed, but I'm not so sure. Remember that Rocky, with a straight forward brawling style was still able to catch up with Apollo, and start landing bombs. Even in their rematch, with Apollo on form, Rocky still got through to him early on. Apollo was not unhittable. Clubber, while very one-dimensional, I believe hits harder than Rocky, and with slightly better reach. And let's not forget that Clubber also got through to Rocky in their rematch, when Rocky adopted Creed's style. While Apollo can take a shot, I don't think he can take punches as well as Rocky.can. Clubber would be very aggressive, and come charging at Apollo like a bull. Apollo may have success with jabs, footwork and combos, but like Rocky did, Clubber could start getting through with his damaging hooks. Would Apollo be able to take many? I'm not saying Clubber would definitely win, but it would be a very dangerous storm for Apollo to weather for the first two or three rounds. And yes, I know they are only films. 😊
True, Rocky caught up to Apollo with his brawler style, but that's Rocky, and it took him 15 rounds. Clubber got stopped by Rocky's foot work and jab within 6 rounds, so his chin is nowhere near Apollo's who took Rocky to the last round in both their fights, nor is Rocky anywhere near Apollo in skill, and it's Rocky's newly trained skills by Apollo that won him the fight. And I know Clubber beat Rocky inside two rounds, but there's massive context there, Rocky needed that fight over asap to get to Mickey, preferably by quick ko. Apollo won't have that issue.
I know my opinion is not going to be a popular one, but I'm going go with Clubber Lang. I know that Apollo trained Rocky to beat Clubber, but you have to remember that Apollo can't take those vicious punches like Rocky can. The punches that Clubber threw and hit Rocky would floor Apollo. I think Apollo would get cocky and Clubber would take advantage of that and drop him during the fight.
Apollo was by fire the best fighter in the rocky series Clubber lane with his aggressiveness and raw power would have been a close second but Apollo had It all power speed elusiveness And until Rocky he never went the distance with a fighter
True And tyson was very strong for his size And he is faster than lighter weight boxers Mike Tyson has the same ring IQ As Ali.... Plus tyson also knows Ali's boxing 🥊 style Most American boxers know More than one style philly shell style Peekaboo style Ali's style
I guess I'm the only one who thinks Clubber takes it. He's hungry, and Apollo, at least Rocky 1/2 Apollo, is complacent, full of himself. Your fundamentals and experience might not be enough for a hungry street fighter who isn't there to out-box you, he's there to end you.
Clubber wins. Rocky could trade & take blows from Apollo and win. Rocky (with fight experience with Lang) needed Lang to burn himself out, or he'd have lost again.
It wouldn't be an easy win for Apollo, because Clubber is a dangerous opponent; one well landed/solid punch from him could cost the match. I figured Apollo would of eventually overcome Clubber's ferocity with stamina and technique. Nice video 👍
I'll go with Clubber Lang because Rocky just barely got the best of him at the end of Rocky 3 and Sylvester Stallone never did bring Mr T. back into any of those trilogies and Creed movies.
I think Apollo had the boxing ability to neutralize Clubber's power but.... he would need to have a perfect fight because one or two slip ups, could turn the fight around completely.
Lang would win. When you watch part 3, you have to listen while you watch. Clubber admits to not even having a strategy going into the 2nd fight and yet he's still the only fighter to make Rocky actually use defense and psychological warfare to win. Rocky in part 3 is the most skilled Rocky. Apollo can't handle Lang's power.
I disagree that it's as simple as "Apollo's style stops Clubber and Clubber has zero stamina so Apollo wins". We're ignoring southpaws are Apollo's kryptonite and Clubber is a dirty fighter. Tbh people kinda take Clubber's stamina to an extreme. He can keep fighting. Apollo's team determined Rocky had to stop Lang early because they knew he would've been the one slipping away after iirc round 7. That's because to tire someone out you need to hurt them. Rocky was mixing his power with Apollo's finesse to frustrate Lang and still almost lost. The moment Clubber cornered him he was a hair from getting KO'd. Not only will Apollo need more shots to do it, he's even more vulnerable to his power. I feel it really depends if Apollo can handle Clubber's shots, because I don't see him dodging through the whole match. Rocky was almost as quick, hit harder, and was more durable, yet Clubber nearly KO'd him, anyway. I don't think Apollo has this tbh. I see Clubber eventually rushing Apollo into a corner through his punches like he did to Rocky except he'll devastate his ribs, especially considering his tendency to underestimate his opponents. I have Clubber breaking him mid-rounds
Creed in 10. Clubber Lang deserves his own movie. I would have liked to know what happened to him after Rocky beat him and then retired. Between his backstory of being an orphan in Chicago and wondering what he could have been doing by the time Rocky was training in Russia for the Drago fight, I'm sure there's a crafty screenwriter who could pull it off.
Apollo loses for certain thats why he didnt take opportunity to fight lang when he beat balboa. Clubber did something apollo couldnt do fighting rocky twice.
Apollo's weaknesses: punches are not strong enough AND can't take as much punishment. Clubber's weaknesses: lack of style and finesse in punching AND gets tired too easily. Lack of stamina. Several clean punches from Clubber would send Apollo into trouble. Clubber is almost as strong as Drago. I say Clubber wins.
Your saying that because of Drago who was younger and on steroids. Come on. He was out boxing 🥊 Drago at times but Drago was too strong and young for him.
Man I LOVE Clubber (Mr T trash talking Apollo! “Come on, Creed!” Man I also wish they brought Clubber Lang back to help Rocky fight Drago after Apollo died, would have been so awesome!
Apollo would of whipped Clubber as its why Rocky won..... He (rocky) faught like apollo as he was trained by APollo. I loved the video very fun. I thinkt here was a Rocky game on Sega I took Creed to beat Clubber and Drago all the time lol
Rocky-Clubber-Apollo is the classic Rock-Paper-Scissors situation. Rocky's endurance and punching power, gives him the edge over Apollo. Clubber's aggression and power decimates Rocky. Apollo's skill and speed makes him the perfect counter to Clubber.
Apollo Creed would outbox him and win on points. Y'all saw how frustrated Clubber Lang was at Rocky's primitive version of the rope-a-dope. Apollo got this.

Clubber would give Creed a "Chicago Ass Kicking".
Rocky had to fight like Apollo to beat Clubber. So what does that tell you?
This video shows how important sound effects are in a movie haha, the effects really sell those punches
Betting on Lang for this 1 mane 🔥 💪🏾 pure beast
Can you do Drago vs Lang !
That wouldn't even be a fair fight. Rocky had to basically become a superhero. Lang doesn't stand a chance.
@@MasterFhylexactly lang gets destroyed 😂
Clubber vs Drago Here you go 👉 th-cam.com/video/8AfGCRT1JdU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BfCCq22k3HpVNEdM
Apollo ATW no doubts 💯%
This would be a cool video game with all the Rocky Characters 🤔
Between this roster and the Creed characters, yep.
There is a Rocky video game for the PS2. I had it. It was good but could have been way better
@@D1Snr I know! I bought it many years ago. You can even fight with the Rocky statue!
Hahahahaha!
Even in the art work of both of them in the ring, Mr. T. STILL has gold chains around his neck!
I saw that too!
Apolo was undefeated until then, and nobody came close, so Clubber loses.
How about drago vs clubber lang? Now is even more fascinating!
I would love to see a video on Clubber Lang versus Ivan Drago 🥊
I second this ^
Oh yeah! That would be a fun matchup! I'll get to work on it.
Drago
I believe Drago would win.
But, it’s obvious who would win 🤨
"Burn Notice" Michael Weston vs "The punisher" Frank Castle please 😁
I second this. This would be incredible!
Clubber was such great character.
Longer the fight went, the more necklaces Clubber put on. Must have had a trainer, a cut man, and a jeweler in his corner
Union Kane v spider Ricco
As an actual pro athlete instead of just bodybuilder and actor I’m going with creed 🤣🤣
I think it could possibly turn out like the “No mas” fight, but Clubber always stands a chance with his one-punch power. Fun to speculate about.
“Clubber what’s your prediction for this fight?”
“PAAAIIIN”
Lang deserved a 3rd fight
Apollo Wins in a Trilogy, it's basically Ali vs Tyson, great video
True
And tyson was very strong for his size
And he is faster than lighter weight boxers
Mike Tyson has the same ring IQ
As Ali....
Plus tyson also knows Ali's boxing 🥊 style
Most American boxers know
More than one style
philly shell style
Peekaboo style
Ali's style
I guess I'm the only one who thinks Clubber takes it. He's hungry, and Apollo, at least Rocky 1/2 Apollo, is complacent, full of himself. Your fundamentals and experience might not be enough for a hungry street fighter who isn't there to out-box you, he's there to end you.
Clubber wins. Rocky could trade & take blows from Apollo and win. Rocky (with fight experience with Lang) needed Lang to burn himself out, or he'd have lost again.
Remember the old Rocky games for original Xbox? You could literally play out any of these scenarios.
It wouldn't be an easy win for Apollo, because Clubber is a dangerous opponent; one well landed/solid punch from him could cost the match. I figured Apollo would of eventually overcome Clubber's ferocity with stamina and technique. Nice video 👍
Ah, Rocky III. I wish Rocky, when he barged into Mickey's room, had asked: "Yo, Mick! Why's your room pink?"
Tong Po Vs. Ivan Drago
could you do Unicron, Transformers, vs The Deathstar, Star Wars?
You better get that bad look off your face before I knock it off 😂 Clubber Lang was a hungry fighter 🥊
We did get Creed vs. Lang. It was called Ali vs. Liston.
I got Apollo on this match with speed, jab, movement and ring smartness.
clubber lang would win we seem what happen to creed with the russian🤭😂😂😂
I'll go with Clubber Lang because Rocky just barely got the best of him at the end of Rocky 3 and Sylvester Stallone never did bring Mr T. back into any of those trilogies and Creed movies.
WHEN THE RIVALS CAME TOGETHER!!!....BEST ROCKY MOVIE! And Adrian's PEP TALK! Shit makes me Tear up a little EVERY TIME I hear it.
Me too!!!!!!!! Especially when she says "I live with a fighter"
Rocky was younger and hungry for the belt. Clubber would win being younger and hungry
Clubber wins. Appollo let his emotions get to him and brawled too much at times . Clubber by 10th Rd ko
When are you going to make my Wick vs Rambo video?
I will try to get to it soon! I've done a lot of Rambo recently so I'm giving him a little break before I throw him back into the ring 😅
@@MONUMENTAL-CINEMA Oh, ok thank u
agree 100% good job!!!
Mr. T actually fought in contests and was tough.
Apollo loses for certain thats why he didnt take opportunity to fight lang when he beat balboa. Clubber did something apollo couldnt do fighting rocky twice.
Please, do a "vs" with Superboy Prime
I think it would've went pretty similarly to the Foreman v Ali fight. Rope-a-dope FTW!
I agree as even Miky was telling Rocky to make him go the distance.
Great review show i think it would end in a draw
Apollo would wear clubber out and dance circles around him 😅
That might not work. Remember Apollo tried that with Drago? It didn't go well after Drago landed that first punch.
@@AceCorr Bingo!
Clubber beats everyone. Absolute monster. Rocky was juiced for the rematch.
😂
Your saying that because of Drago who was younger and on steroids. Come on. He was out boxing 🥊 Drago at times but Drago was too strong and young for him.
No weaknesses. Beat and dropped everyone he fought professionally.
Apollo broke Rocky’s nose in less than 3 minutes and survived 15 rounds of punishment
Rocky also said Apollo was the best fighter in the series
The movies of Rocky show all three fighters with different training discipline styles and power punches
Apollo Creed would outbox him and win on points. Y'all saw how frustrated Clubber Lang was at Rocky's primitive version of the rope-a-dope. Apollo got this.
Shredder vs Blade
People miss understood the movie Appolo was a great fighter absolutely a world class fighter.but clubber Lang was just wrestling machine absolutely a power puncher ,in the movie there was were Appolo said 'you think I was thought rock this guy will kill you' so it's abvious that clubber was going to come out victorious in the fight ,he said him self after I beat rock you're next .
1:06
The breakdown of this video had me almost believing these boxers are real lol 😂
clubber lang would knock Apollo into unconciousness.
