Amazing collection! Mr. Bones was the first game I picked up on the Saturn back in the day I and was blown away by it. Now it's my favorite game of all time, so many awesome memories of playing it with my family growing up. 100% agree about it being overlooked, such a underrated game for a underrated system.
I just recently got the Action Replay Plus card on my Saturn. Such a wonderful device for gamesave space, playing Japanese titles, and running titles that require the RAM cart to work.
Gotta love how D is only 2 hours with 3 different endings depending on your actions... interesting to have for any survival horror fan. NICE Saturn collection videos man.
Sweet freakin' collection of Saturn games. Thanks for sharing. An unusual gem in my collection is Valora Valley Golf. The fantasy golf game full of volcanos, massive canyons and mountains to play through. Definitely a nice one.
I bought a Sega Saturn because of this video. Thanks for the inspiration! I ordered a Saturn with 6 (mostly cruddy) games. BUT, I also ordered Dark Savior, Nights, Panzer Dragoon, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, AND............dun, dun, dun, PANZER DRAGOON SAGA!!!!! My copy was more expensive, and lower quality than yours, however. 255 dollars, and no case or manual...but who cares, really? It's about the games, right!? I can't wait to play it. Thanks again for introducing me to this game's existence!
@wespolly it is a bummer to think about. they have put out an amazing amount of titles that most people just never got the chance to play and i think if they really gave them the attention that they deserved they would sell pretty well.
Nice Collection!! I have a Sega Saturn I got at a hand-me down store for like 5 bucks. I only the Virtua Cop cop 1 and 2 but I love it. I have to get some of the ones you talked about.
Galactic Attack is also known as RayForce in the arcades and Layer Section on the Saturn and PSX in Japan. There were two sequels to it released for it. Layer Section II on the Saturn and PSX in Japan which was brought over to the US by Working Designs as RayStorm on the PSX. And then RayCrisis which was also released in the US by Working Designs. It's easy to get confused considering how many name changes the series went through.
Castlevania SOTN is the main reason I want a Saturn. To be able to play as Alucard, Richter and MARIA at anytime in the game. Having more weapons, 2 new familiars and 2 new sections is a very good add, but having Maria as a playable character for the first time is the best bonus. This game is a Masterpiece on Playstation, but on Sega Saturn it's even better.
The way Panzer Dragoon Saga was historically treated shows you how crap the industry is at preserving and 'celebrating' its own history (or not so as the case maybe). Despicable.
Dark Savior's game mechanics came from and old game from the Genesis called Land Stalker. Its also made by the same company that made Dark Savior so essentially its Land Stalker for the Saturn. It play in a 2d to 3d Isometric game style when it comes to its controls.
These are your best videos. Thanksgiving, I just got a Saturn again. In trying to build up the Capcom Marvel games. The most overlooked game on the system is Three Dirty Dwarves!
Working Designs is one of my top 5 game companies. Like PS1 some Saturn games had audio tracks on the disc like a CD starting on track 2. Working Designs games had a special track 2 featuring a warning to play the disc in a Sega Saturn due to "Dynamic Digital Data that can blow out your speakers". Magic Knight Rayearth and Dragon Force have only warning and they are different versions, where Albert Odyssey also has the actual game audio as well including the narration. The warning is hilarious
I can't believe you missed 2 games that are STILL tops in their category. Pebble Beach Golf was an AWESOME golf game. Also Last Gladiators pinball game is STILL one of the BEST video pinball games ever.
You've got 2 out of 3 of my top Saturn games: Panzer Dragoon Saga and Dragon Force, which you desperately need to play again if you still haven't. The third one is Guardian Heroes, which managed to get a pretty nice XBOX Arcade release recently. Well worth your time. Also, it's complete nostalgia I'm sure, but Mystaria wasn't that bad, hehe.
wooo fighting vipers one of the 3 saturn games I had back when i had my sega saturn. I remember when i was like 10 I was a big sega fanboy. I begged my mom for a long time to get me a Saturn off of Ebay. Eventually I got it, played it for a while. Unfortunately I dropped it down the steps though, and sold all the stuff for it when i was 12 or so. Regrettable because I wish I had one right now. Probably will buy another and amass some games one of these days, only gettin more expensive though..
I have my European version of panzer dragoon saga well stored. It´s special game. I boght it new back in the day, it was amazing. It´s like a good wine, the taste it lefts after you experience it is amazing. I also have Shining Force 3, another special game (unfortunatly in EU they didn´t release the scenario 2 and 3, I had to play it in an emulator). I want to add to my colection Guardian Heroes and Dragon Force.
I remember when Saga came out and I was still in school, it was painful because Shining Force 3 was out the same sort of time (at least in the UK), had my brother buy SF3 and then my sister bought me Saga. The scary thing is Saga really is worth $100, in fact its probably worth the $300, the game is relatively short, without particularly trying I've finished the game in 5 hours 20 minutes (!?) and also comes as the only real game I've ever got 100% bestiary data in. Played it countless times, and a full audio cast on all text outside of internal thoughts just makes the game. So many secrets in it.
Such a nice collection! I think that Panzer Dragoon Saga is worth paying even the current prices ( around $350 USD) keep the great videos! Greetings from Cabo, Mexico!
@Evildarkness69 its gonna happen eventually but itd take awhile. i have over 200 ps1 games. that would take me a few days to go over and record, edit etc etc etc lol so i would probably sprinkle it out throughout the course of a few weeks.
many memories 20 years back! great video my fave saturn games: D Daytona USA Daytona USA: Championship Circuit Edition Die Hard Arcade Die Hard Trilogy Enemy Zero The House of the Dead Nights into Dreams Pandemonium Sega Rally Sonic R Tomb Raider (epic the first & the best version) Virtua Cop Virtua Cop 2 Virtua Fighter 2 Burning Rangers (very favorite) Virtual On Athlete Kings (epic game very funny) Winter Heat (athlete kings sequel very good)
Panzer Dragoon Saga is one of the best RPGs EVER!!! I got to the 3rd disc, when the game crapped out on me :( They REALLY need to re-release that game as a digital download!!!!
Your video inspired me to buy panser dragoon saga, ended up paying 300 dollars. It will arrive in the mail in about 5 days. Beeing a huge fan of the sega saturn and the other panzer dragoon games I really cant see this one beeing a waste of money :)
your pretty much going to have to do about 2000 vids on all your games.....we demand it (psst i agree on the madden joke, sports games, and racing games...not very crazy about em)....dammit D O_O, lol if you like space shooters you would nut for action 52 LMAO...ugh im just commenting as i watch...your saving PDS for last arent you..?.....O_O oh my now im happy(btw, thank you, graphics are sprinkles, the game is the cake ^_^).. great video, ya made my day
@freshchr1s I want that game quite a bit actually. it never came out in the states sadly but its something ive been wanting to import since the videos of it looked awesome as hell and im a survival horror nut
BTW Saturn emulation isnt THAT bad these days. Some games are actually emulated quite well on the better emulators. SSF is what I use and is basically the only route I have to play a lot of Saturn games. For years I wanted to play Shining Force 3 and after a lot of playing around with saturn emulators, and repairing the only available but broken SF3 rom out there I finally got it up and running on my comp. I was so happy....
Oh, and LOL at the first game, you just totally mocked my TH-cam avatar, I always wanted some of the Jet Set Radio characters in a Sega vs Capcom game D:
Fighting Vipers is an underrated game, for sure. I liked knocking people's armor off. I had Fighters Megamix as well and that was fun cuz it had crossover characters and it was the closest I ever came to having Sonic the Fighters (Bean and Bark, at least). One of my enduring arcade memories is seeing Sonic the Fighters at this fantastic mall arcade, not having the money to play it, wanting desperately to play it, and then NEVER seeing it again except for that one time. Yeah it's on the Gamecube Sonic collection, but still....so much heartbreak. T_T and then AOS busts out Fighters Megamix and my Nostalgia Boner goes BOOM! lol....Fighters Megamix also had kid versions of a couple of Virtua Fighter characters (cuz VF Kids was a full game on its own, i think). Hope you eventually got Guardian Heroes....that's like a necessity for any Saturn collection. I loooove that game.
You should definitely consider completing Dragon Force, all 8 playthroughs for that matter! one of the greatest games of all time, also, really surprised you didn't get guardian heroes! another top notch saturn game.
Also Check out Ray Crisis for the PS1 . ITs the last chapter to the Ray series. Short but nice to check out. also RayStorm has a HD download available on XBLA. enhanced graphic too.
I did see the PS1 BB/RI a day or so ago when I went out game hunting, but due to how much it tends to go for, I passed on it without even asking the price on it (mind you both systems have the version average anywhere form $15 up to $30, it has amazingly come down a little over the years in value). Back to Galactic Attack, I prefer the original Rayforce name to GA or even Layer Section, though the fighting does take place over layers, with air and ground based enemies.
Galactic Attack also known as Layer Section in Japan and Rayforce in arcades did have a sequel, Layer Section II on Saturn, aka Raystorm which is also on PS1 as the latter name. The arcade and PS1 had 1 more go with the series with Raycrisis, both it and Storm are 3D shmups though. Now Bubble Bobble Featuring Rainbow Islands also saw a PS1 version, both versions blew major ass. RI didn't have the 3 extra words, soundtrack was neutered due to copyright, and BB has the most broken bubble phsyics..
Yeah I really enjoyed the saturn era while it lasted. I wished they would remake the saturn console with the new connections and have all the games pre installed. I would totally buy it. The controllers also have to be remade but they feel and handle like the real thing. No Knockoffs!!! What do you think?
@wespolly i do want that game actually, costs a nice penny though so thats why i dont have it yet. most of the pricey games i do own with the exception of panzer dragoon saga i got cause i was lucky and found them for cheap. but it is definitely on my last. hell theres a lot of saturn games on my list but that one is pretty high up there, especially with the fact that its an rpg lol
Bought Panzer Dragoon Saga about the time it was released, summer of 98. Played it before FF7 which I didn't get around to play until a few months later. PDSaga is the best 32 bit game ever made. About a year later, walked into a Toys R Us, they had a dozen copies of PDSaga for $20 each...and I want to cringe...hindsight hurts. $250 could've been like $3600 LOL.
I finally bit the bullet and bought Panzer Dragoon Saga. Coming in the mail tomorrow so I feel as much as I paid for it, I need to do something more. Like take it out on a date or dinner. Good lord the price was high but I keep hearing great things about it so I bought into the hype. Hope it's really fun. Try to find out which I should get next Magic Knight Rayearth, Dragon Force or Albert Odyssey. I have many games to get. Got the Sega Saturn for my birthday :)
I have all 3 of those games and Dragon Force is the best one hands down and I think usually runs the cheapest. Back in the day I played through that game 11 times I think. Albert Odyssey is very good RPG too. It's kind of a typical JRPG but it's got excellent writing from the awesome translators at working designs. Magic Knight Rayearth I bought recently and haven't got a chance to play it much.
Sweet collection man. Alpha I'm not sure if you know about this yet but the gamesharks have a thicker pcb than the offcial sega cards and can damage your card port connector. They say even the pro action replays are thicker but not as bad as the gamesharks.
@AlphaOmegaSin hey man ! great collection . in the end im just made big eyes how much saturn games u stored . O_o and i thought u didnt have the port of duke nukem 3d . do u can please put ur psx collection ? i would do but many games are burned to discs and im just buyed few original ones which are balls to get them. .... oh and last question . >=( Do u buy duke nukem forever too dude ? ^^
...instead I prefer the versions on NES, SMS, and Taito Legends 1,as well as Taito Memories Volume 1 Joukan for the PS2.These versions have correct bubble physics, both have great versions of RI, though the Memories version of RI has improved music, and Memories also has Rainbow Islands Extra, a different revision of Rainbow Islands where monsters and world themes were flipped around. RI Extra also happens to be hard to find in it's 3 other revisions, Mega Drive, FM Towns Marty, and arcade PCB.
I have panzer dragoon saga and ff7...if i had to sell one of them...id sell ff7. Panzer Dragoon saga is probably the most special and unique game iv hever played. It haves some boring parts but the mark it makes in your memory its just amazing...they SHOULD remake this one. Shining force 3 its another great game, just recently im finishing the all 3 parts of it and their amazing to. You dont have dragon ball z legends...you should give it a try. try mass destruction too. Loved your shorts review
Not sure if this has been mentioned but Galactic Attack had two sequels both on the PS1. As part of the Ray series. Ray Storm and Ray Crisis were both localized by Working Designs. Too bad Galactic Attack a.k.a. Ray Force is the best in the series. You should Check out Darius Gaiden on the Saturn. Awesome music and gameplay and it's cheap too. Taito invented the shooter genre. Anybody that likes shooters needs check out the Taito collections for PS2.
Thank you for the reply I think I will try and get Mk2 so I got both since there is no difference And thank you for the memory advice I think I might get the Game Shark just so I can play games from USA and Japan so my collection will be different but I will also get some Battery just incase
@HiroGaems einhander is an amazing title, ive yet to beat it to this day sadly. ive gotten second to the last stage but its just so fucking hard. with games like that i cant use cheats or anything cause its just not the same.
I have a Game Shark and want to use it soo bad but 1. I don't know how to use it and 2. I heard it somehow ruins your system (which I'm not sure I believe) but I'd love to have it as a memory card. Also, Bug! kicks ass lol.
i have an action replay plus 4 in 1 cart is this the same as your gameshark, does your gameshark work as a ram cart too so you can play games like metal slug and xmen vs street fighter. if not the action replay is the best to buy and its only like $30 new in box
Alpha I imagine you probably figured this out by now but you know how you said Working Designs is no longer around? Well its true they aren't but it was revived, the company is called Gaijinworks it is mean't to carry on Working Designs legacy of bringing Japanese games and it has its ORIGINAL developers which is nice because they really aren't gone.
Would you recamend the Mk 1 or the Mk2? As I have a Mk 1 and it still plays but the memory is shot so thanks to watching this I will be looking for a GameShark Still a laugh every time I turn it on it still thinks its 1994 lol Also you have so many games I take my hat off to you and that Marvel Game you have is something I have wanted for so long but I got 2 games that were my childhood for the Saturn Sonic R and virtual on cyber troopers
D2 is not a sequel to Enemy Zero, it's obviously from D. The creator decided to use the same character but there's nothing to do with it. D is D and its sequel D2, Enemy Zero is Enemy Zero.
I'm surprised that you are not aware of one of the best party games Sega has made since you own both Quake and Duke Nukem 3d for the Saturn. All you have to do is have a saved game of Quake and Duke Nukem 3d on your hard drive and this awesome 7 player game appears as long as you have a multitap and 7 controllers. It's like scorched earth or worms, but on red bull!!!! It's called Death Tanks!!!!
man panzer dragoon saga...I'll probably never play it on an actual sega saturn simply because its like 300 fucking dollars...so crazy. Getting into saturn gaming aint cheap
hey alpha, you ever play i think it was called star fighter? you basicly free roam in a star ship on ground and somtimes in space, been forever since i played[ lost the disk :{ ], have you at least heard of it?
At the moment I am slowly building my paypal account up because I really, really want to buy and play PDS. Since they lost the key or whatever and probably will never re-release it I am going to bite the bullet. Can't spend the money out right but I definitely have things around I don't need which are on eBay. I am really looking forward to getting to experience that one :).
BRUH FIGHTING VIPERS AND VIRTUA FIGHTER ARE MY FAVS AND I GONNA BUY ALL 3 AWESOME FIGHTING GAMES. sorry i get overly excited when someone mentions fighting vipers, virtua fighter or fighters megamix. ihope to get a saturn console myself for those games.
Amazing collection!
Mr. Bones was the first game I picked up on the Saturn back in the day I and was blown away by it. Now it's my favorite game of all time, so many awesome memories of playing it with my family growing up. 100% agree about it being overlooked, such a underrated game for a underrated system.
I just bought a Saturn, watched all 3 of these videos. Found them helpful.
I just recently got the Action Replay Plus card on my Saturn. Such a wonderful device for gamesave space, playing Japanese titles, and running titles that require the RAM cart to work.
Nice collection of sega saturn always did love the sega systems for there games.
Gotta love how D is only 2 hours with 3 different endings depending on your actions... interesting to have for any survival horror fan. NICE Saturn collection videos man.
i agree. found it for 40$ bucks complete at a game shop and aquired it with joy in my heart haha. its fantastic.
Your saturn collection has increased in value by quite a bit since this video was filmed
Sweet freakin' collection of Saturn games. Thanks for sharing. An unusual gem in my collection is Valora Valley Golf. The fantasy golf game full of volcanos, massive canyons and mountains to play through. Definitely a nice one.

I have 127 S.S. games, and I still love to play with that system!
Awesome collection man. Makes me wanna bust all my stuff out and play it again.
@wespolly
it is a bummer to think about. they have put out an amazing amount of titles that most people just never got the chance to play and i think if they really gave them the attention that they deserved they would sell pretty well.

nice video dude! you have a great collection
Hell yeah 11:40 Dark Savior!! That game was mint, reminded me of Landstalker on Genesis, because it was also made by Climax. Good RPG.
Dragon Force = Best Saturn game ever.....
Outstanding collection! getting one of these soon, this was really helpful cuz I didn't know that much about the library. :)
I can't believe you missed 2 games that are STILL tops in their category. Pebble Beach Golf was an AWESOME golf game. Also Last Gladiators pinball game is STILL one of the BEST video pinball games ever.

Awesome Saturn collection!!
Oh, and LOL at the first game, you just totally mocked my TH-cam avatar, I always wanted some of the Jet Set Radio characters in a Sega vs Capcom game D:

totally! it would've been cool to get Pepsiman here, just for the lolz. :p
In a video game, it doesn't have to make much sense to be an awesome game!!
Another great Saturn import to play, "Macross: Do you remember love". Alpha, did you forget about about Guardian Heroes by Treasure?
Awesome collection. It's too bad you don't have Grandia or Radiant Silvergun though because those games are kickass!
@AlphaOmegaSin
Why don't you have "X-Men Children of the Atom"?!
I did see the PS1 BB/RI a day or so ago when I went out game hunting, but due to how much it tends to go for, I passed on it without even asking the price on it (mind you both systems have the version average anywhere form $15 up to $30, it has amazingly come down a little over the years in value). You have far too many of the games Ive been searching so hard for.
Hey Alpha, another saturn games you should add to your collection are puzzle games called Baku Baku and Saturn Bomberman.
Dragon Force
Yeah I really enjoyed the saturn era while it lasted. I wished they would remake the saturn console with the new connections and have all the games pre installed. I would totally buy it. Dragon Force is the best game on Saturn after PDS. I played through it multiple times. Can't believe you didn't finish this game u_u
They put a Burning Rangers poster and 2 BR songs in Phantasy Star Universe that can be used in the character's room.
Bought Panzer Dragoon Saga about the time it was released, summer of 98. Played it before FF7 which I didn't get around to play until a few months later. PDSaga is the best 32 bit game ever made.
Do u buy duke nukem forever too dude ? ^^
The golden axe 2d fighter was wicked should pick that up
Thank you. I was thinking she was only a boss on the psp version.
You can't have a Saturn without Guardian Heroes.
There is a sequel to Galactic Attack (Layer Section the japanese title) only released in Japan.
Collection is pretty cool, but... Where Mortal Kombat Trilogy ???
Actually Galactic Attack is not a Saturn exclusive. Its a port of an arcade game called Gunlocke.
...instead I prefer the versions on NES, SMS, and Taito Legends 1,as well as Taito Memories Volume 1 Joukan for the PS2.These versions have correct bubble physics, both have great versions of RI, though the Memories version of RI has improved music, and Memories also has Rainbow Islands Extra, a different revision of Rainbow Islands where monsters and world themes were flipped around. RI Extra also happens to be hard to find in it's 3 other revisions, Mega Drive, FM Towns Marty, and arcade PCB.
Sega actually can't rerelease Panzer Dragoon Saga because they lost the source code. They would have to build it from scratch
Will you do a NGP video? :D
Fighter Megamix is my all time favorite fighter,,,, Gahh SEGA we need Fighters Megamix 2!
Thank you for the reply
I think I will try and get Mk2 so I got both since there is no difference
And thank you for the memory advice
I think I might get the Game Shark just so I can play games from USA and Japan so my collection will be different but I will also get some Battery just incase
@HiroGaems
einhander is an amazing title, ive yet to beat it to this day sadly. ive gotten second to the last stage but its just so fucking hard. with games like that i cant use cheats or anything cause its just not the same.
Please do a sega genesis game collection video. Thanks
I have a Game Shark and want to use it soo bad but 1. I don't know how to use it and 2. I heard it somehow ruins your system (which I'm not sure I believe) but I'd love to have it as a memory card. Also, Bug! kicks ass lol.
Pro Action Replay 4 in 1 Memory Card, aka the PAR 4 In 1.
The best Gex game in my opinion is the second one, Gex Enter the Gecko
i have an action replay plus 4 in 1 cart is this the same as your gameshark, does your gameshark work as a ram cart too so you can play games like metal slug and xmen vs street fighter. if not the action replay is the best to buy and its only like $30 new in box
I plan on getting megaman x4 for the saturn.
Betcha GodsImmortalGauntlet would love to play as Pepsi Man.
Would you recamend the Mk 1 or the Mk2?
As I have a Mk 1 and it still plays but the memory is shot so thanks to watching this I will be looking for a GameShark
Still a laugh every time I turn it on it still thinks its 1994 lol
Also you have so many games I take my hat off to you and that Marvel Game you have is something I have wanted for so long but I got 2 games that were my childhood for the Saturn
Sonic R and virtual on cyber troopers
D2 is not a sequel to Enemy Zero, it's obviously from D. The creator decided to use the same character but there's nothing to do with it. D is D and its sequel D2, Enemy Zero is Enemy Zero.
fighters megamix is my favourite game
I'm surprised that you are not aware of one of the best party games Sega has made since you own both Quake and Duke Nukem 3d for the Saturn. All you have to do is have a saved game of Quake and Duke Nukem 3d on your hard drive and this awesome 7 player game appears as long as you have a multitap and 7 controllers. It's like scorched earth or worms, but on red bull!!!! It's called Death Tanks!!!!
man panzer dragoon saga...I'll probably never play it on an actual sega saturn simply because its like 300 fucking dollars...so crazy. Getting into saturn gaming aint cheap
hey can u do a sega cd, genesis, and 32x together in a collection video
hey alpha, you ever play i think it was called star fighter? you basicly free roam in a star ship on ground and somtimes in space, been forever since i played[ lost the disk :{ ], have you at least heard of it?
When it comes to weirdness, the japanese are the best. The more weird games, the better imo.
BRUH FIGHTING VIPERS AND VIRTUA FIGHTER ARE MY FAVS AND I GONNA BUY ALL 3 AWESOME FIGHTING GAMES.
sorry i get overly excited when someone mentions fighting vipers, virtua fighter or fighters megamix. ihope to get a saturn console myself for those games.
have you played a sega saturn fps called powerslave? it is also on the ps1 i just wanted to ask
Just wondering, what is your preferred way to control duke nukem 3d?
