as someone else who can't derma plane, wax, or shave without a massive, painful breakout thank you for repping us. Women have hair, the world needs to chill.
I didn't know makeup people shaved their faces at all until a few weeks ago. It still blows my mind that brands assume I'm doing something that annoying just to wear their product at all.
As someone that can't be bothered to shave/wax even more parts of her body (aren't legs, armpits, the line below the navel, neck, chin, upper lip and eyebrows enough??) I also appreciate Amanda repping it and definitely believe people need to chill about women having hair!
Nothing makes me feel more validated than seeing luxury products being less than perfect lol. I get that people have their preferences, and will buy what they want, but IMO for a high price tag, it needs to be absolutely flawless for whoever is using it. And honestly, they could have done better than a jar.
I love your peach fuzz! I have peach fuzz. Even though we are different skin tones, It makes it easier to see how a product would lay on me. It took me years to figure out why I didn't like a product. Turns out it's bc I didn't like the color against my peach fuzz.
Not that there’s anything wrong with it, but if the peach fuzz is causing makeup problems, have you ever tried using an eyebrow razor to gently smooth it off?
@@skincarewithaustin I have chronic urticaria and eczema. It's not worth flaring either of those up. I did use one of those eyebrow shavers when I was in my early 20s, but stopped when I realized it was irritating my skin. Also, I'm Black so all of those things come with very bad hyperpigmentation. I find having a great skincare routine and just using concealer around my eyes or random spot the retinol/vitamin c/ azelaic acid hasn't removed yet helps.
Have you tried the chantecaille gel future skin foundation? If so, how would you say it compares to the chanel? I'd LOVE a video on comparing super skin-like light coverage foundations
For when I put on too much mascara I go back and brush through my lashes with a clean brow spoolie and it helps a lot with removing clumps and separating lashes. You just need to do it before your mascara dries
@@melissabridge5687 I love Amanda's one and done looks, and this palette seems perfect for that. So happy you really like it, and wow even your hubby noticed! Literally can't wait for mine to come in.
Hello Amanda! I know you and some of the subscribers like me love luminous makeup items, especially blushes and bronzers. I’m curious to see a comparison between luminous bronzers (and blushes) since it seems like it’s becoming a trend, especially with all these “glowy illuminators” coming out left and right. Tower 28 bronzino, makeup by Mario skin enhancer, elf putty bronzer, etc. I wonder what the specific differences are and if the high end ones are actually worth the $. Thanks so much for your content ❤️
I have never found a perfect shade match in any foundation, ever. I got a sample of that Chanel sublimage in BR 22 and it was the most perfect match I’d ever seen, like undetectable lol. Way to go Chanel 🤣
I just picked up the Revlon foundation this morning after some huge debate. I have too many foundations, but the claims drew me in. It looks so pretty 🤩
The star design on the CT compact is inspired by an iconic Hedy Lamar photo from the 40s, which is fitting for her Hollywood line. But I totally agree the execution leaves a lot to be desired, and most of her packaging in general does not have a luxury feel, despite what TH-camrs used to claim about it. I think thats forgivable for the products of hers that actually perform though!
Would you ever do a like "thought I hated these products, then I gave them a second try and actually I like them" type video? this question inspired by the L. A. Girl Skin Tint that I think you recommended. I tried it once, thought it sucked, disappeared, did nothing. Then as i was listing products to resell on Mercari, I decided to give it a second try and just added twice as much product as i'd usually use and it's SO SMOOTH.
Hi Amanda. I’m 53 and have been shaving my face DAILY for years now. I don’t NEED to (I could probably get away with once a week or so), but I absolutely LOVE the way it makes my face feel, and the way my foundation looks. Waxing gave me horrible red bumps that lasted weeks, and I’m pretty sure an electric razor would have irritated my skin, too. But a REGULAR Venus razor (like you would use on your legs) does not bother my skin one bit, and my skin is very sensitive. Just and idea you might want to try. Those dermaplaning blades look brutal to me, and I’ve never felt the need to try them, when a regular razor works so well.
You should try the Bourjos healthy mix foundation, it's amazing for dry skin! Also, I'd really love a comparison between the CT and rare beauty powder highlights 🧐😉
I’m mad at Gucci for not making bronzer refill pans available to purchase! It makes no sense because the pan is magnetic and there is a hole underneath to push out the pan! There is just a tiny glue dot holding it in place, but once you get it out the first time it is easily comes in and out of the magnetic compact.
The CoverGirl super sizer mascara is a similar idea as the Loreal. It has a flat side for applying product and a comb for separating and combing through the lashes. Idk how they compare on the lashes I haven't tried the Loreal yet. But they just give me similar vibes.
I totally agree! Kackie made me buy the Chanel foundation also and I was so disappointed until I shaved my face and applied it afterwards. It completely changes the application and how it interacts with my skin, it’s looks BEAUTIFUL. I do not think for $197 aud that should be the case though!!
I was just considering re-purchasing the MUF reboot foundation! Maybe I'll look into the Revlon option more. The only thing that could make or break this for me is the Revlon shade range (which I haven't checked). I have my perfect shade in MUF
I have super sensitive skin and spent over a decade with breakouts and scars from having to shave my jawline/chin (I have PCOS) and I discovered Pacifica Glow Baby Liquid exfoliator. It's a toner I use before my usual skincare twice daily for 2 days after shaving and then just once a day after that. I haven't gotten any bumps or in-growns in 2 months now and the scars from my past ones are fading! It's worth giving a try, especially because the price is great so you wouldn't be losing much if it doesn't work for you. I hope this helps you and others with this issue
Wondering what your thoughts on the Haus labs foundation! I recently bought it and everyone was raving and I found that it separated towards the end of the day and settled into my pores.
New subscriber here! love the vibe & your recommendations really align with how i like to wear my makeup lately. i want to just glow, i’ve been highlighting my brow bone & forehead sometimes even my ears sometimes just to be at work shining bright like a diamond haha and wow this Merit product and Revlon foundation are super intriguing to me right now also Miss Gomez has a point with that highlighter 👀
Would absolutely love to hear your thoughts on the amuse dew jelly cushion foundation, as someone who has chronically dry skin and roceasea, I've found that it's the only base product that doesn't crack around my mouth.
Hi Amanda, do you plan on reviewing the Chanel Sublimage concealer? I heard it's much more coverage than the foundation and Kacie even said she loves using it as foundation, and I've been dying to try it but hesitant bc it's so expensive. I have slightly protruding undereye bags and although you have hollows, I love finding concealer that kinda flattens the area like you do. Would love love love to see if you review it! P.S. your makeup looks beautiful in this video!!
Back in the naughts, Chantecaille, and Tony & Tina, had rosy bronzers. Chantecaille was Compact Soleil in Capri, which had some warmth, but it was also muted with a pinch of rosiness. Tony & Tina had one that went almost a bit plummy, but for fairer skins. It was a dusty, cool-toned bronzer. Then, nearly all bronzers went really warm, some bounding into orangy. Oppsy! Ya, watch out for those convex shaped products. They're much easier to shove the wrong way. 😬
I'd be super interested in your opinion about SUQQU cream and liquid foundations if you could try these. It's a Japanese brand and these foundations are quite popular in Asia so would love to hear your thoughts! :)
I understand the shaving part! Maybe TMI but that's how I am with any body hair. I can only use an electric shaver and it still causes mayhem, so I avoid it until I can no longer avoid it! But we're people, we have hair, whatever.
Speaking of Kosas, are you reviewing the new glow i.v. they came out with Amanda? I'm curious about it since I love the foundation and concealer, but afraid it may be to much dewiness and glow for me.
I’m waiting for Revlon to come to my country!! It cought my eye on it’s own and since you like it? Easy buy. Also they have great shade match that looks light olive friendly. If I remember correctly they had to go online because of financial problems if I’m correct so that’s a bummer. Edit: info
I always forget to ask, but do you have perioral dermatitis by any chance? I too break like you do, and if that is that, then unrequested suggestion of trying the Malezia skincare products!! They have been truly amazing for my very sensitive skin
I have the Chanel foundation and am 68. It shows my wrinkles and texture way too much. I have tried at least 5 foundations and they all do this with my skin. I look better without foundation with just good skin care. I tried some lower coverage skin tints(KajerWeiss) and it’s the same. Any suggestions Ya’ll? Westman A foundation sticks seem to be the best for me. Any older ladies out there try the Dewdrop Foundation? I don’t want to waste any more money if it’s the same as others.

Why do I always love it when luxury products suck lol. It's so satisfying
An oldie but a goodie- purito bb cream gives everything you’re describing when talking about the Chanel foundation!
